Birch and Barley was a really enjoyable dinner for our crew. They had a "pre theater special" which included an appetizer/salad, entrée and dessert for $40. Sign me up! The beet salad was SO good. I would eat it again and again. Pass on the cacio and pepe - just not the pure, delicious pasta dish I was hoping for. Desserts were very good as well. But the MAIN thing you should enjoy is the beer - they have a huge beer list and all of the options we tried were very good. Enjoy!

Super speedy seating, with a cozy spot in the back towards the kitchen. The beer list is extensive, as is the cocktail and wine menu. Delicious food -- the lamb chops were the star of the evening!

Hadn't been here for a few years, and remembered why we always wanted to come back. Great service, wonderful food, and a wealth of beers to choose from that i'd never think to try on my own.

Our waiter was amazing. Very helpful and showed a great deal of patience as we worked through our beer choices. The food was creative and very well prepared. Outstanding dining experience! We will continue to come back on our annual DC trips!

They took forever to have ready our table. We had a reservation for brunch. So we waited 10-15 min. The food was ok. They didnt provide us spoons. Its OK. Not great, could be worse. Good luck!

The food and table service were good. The main issue is that I arrived a few minutes early for my reservation and was told I would be seated immediately. The host staff came back and said they were waiting on the table to be cleared. Not a problem until almost a half hour past my reservation time, I was told they were still waiting on the table to be cleared. I was shocked and asked if they were sure and even jokingly said, "wow, that must be a really dirty table!" Another person in my party approached the staff and they admitted that they were actually waiting for people to finish eating at the table as they didn't want to give us a bigger booth for four people; they were "saving" those tables. None of which should have affected us getting seated in an appropriate amount of time. Furthermore, the fact that they were not honest, kept my party waiting, and gave a half-hearted was inexcusable. This was extremely poor customer service as it completely defeats the purpose of making reservations.
