Bink’s Kitchen + Bar Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
After waiting weeks to go to this venue, we were sadly disappointed. Asking to sit at a booth away from heavy traffic aisles and serving stations, we were seated at a booth steps from the kitchen entrance and restrooms. Asked if we could have the only other same-size open booth up front, we were told it was reserved for a larger party. Not a god start. Next we waited about five minutes for someone to stop by, introduce themselves and take our drink order. Salads, salmon and pasta were good but nothing to write home about. Service was nonexistent. Our server never stopped by to ask if we needed anything else or check on how our food was. Overall, after all the hype and expectation, a disappointing experience to say the least.
We had expected this to be a bad experience per reviews we had read. What a surprise! It was delightful and the service was extraordinary. The food was delicious. We plan to go back even if it is no longer a Bink's enterprise. We will certainly give the new people a chance to see what they can do on their own. Nice neighborhood place and we liked the looks of the place itself.
Loved it from the start to finish. The small plates we ordered were all excellent, creative and tasty. Thought the portions were just right for what they charged. On the other hand the main dish portions must've been small for what they charged because a table across was complaining to the manager. He promptly comped their entire dinner and told them to save the Groupon they were using for next time. Impressive customer service! My husband and I enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend.
Bink's focuses on fresh and locally sourced foods. The tomatoes were excellent, as were the French fries. (Unfortunately they had just run out of the squash blossoms and I love those.) The sand dabs are good as was the special fried fish. We had very good service and the waitress told us all about the renovations at the Arcadia location since we are strong Binkley food lovers.
What a disappointment! Had 10am reservation on Father's Day--- only one other group at this time. Service inattentive and slow with the restaurant empty. Food (pancakes, eggs Benedict, and breakfast tacos took almost an hour---- . Waitress kept forgetting things--- seemed totally disinterested!!!Food less than lackluster, on verge of awful. Eating at a Denny's or other commercial breakfast spot would have been a vast improvement.
My first negative review in many years!! No wonder restaurant was empty!!
Binks Midtown is closed, so we drove over to Scottsdale for a fun night out. Food was good, although the new kale salad was dry and, well..., was a bunch of cut up Kate with a few rasberries and light dressing. The old Midtown kale salad had a variety of flavors and textures, this was just dry kale. Sand Dabs were delicious as expected. Brussel sprouts were too large (only cut in half) although tasty. The figs stuffed with sausage were super yummy.
And unfortunately we learned that management is bringing down Binkley's to old Binks Midtown location, with stuffy chef picks your meal surprise strategy. Never was a fan of paying more so that someone else can decide what I get to eat.
Met three work colleagues for a "work dinner". We had an appetizer, 1 round of drinks and dinner. No dessert.
The service was fine (it was 5:45 p.m. on a weeknight...there was nobody there) and the food was okay. VERY PRICEY. $140. Good thing its a write off.
Will not go again. Not worth it.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing a true "foodie" occasion.
Service was the worst we have had in the Scottsdale AZ area. Service category in this review was noted as poor, but that was just to complete survey. The menu looked promising, but food lacked inspiration when put in front of us. While the owner-chef is well-thought of in the local restaurant scene, we were surprised the overall experience fell so flat. Can't see any reason to return- to any of his three locales. Could be mistaken for national chain restaurant.
I came here for a birthday dinner date - the food, drinks and service were all wonderful! They were even kind enough to bump my reservation by 15 minutes since we're not used to Phoenix traffic, and the chef even wrote happy birthday on my dessert plate!! Way to make a girl feel special! Definitely coming back when I'm in town!
The chorizo stuffed dates were wonderful, as we're the mussels. Atmosphere was interesting and relaxed, quiet and great for conversation. The serving staff did a marvelous job, was prompt and courteous, and made sure that my party lacked for nothing.
I will definitely be back.
We enjoyed a terrific meal at Bink's, and I've already recommended it to several friends! From the cozy atmosphere to the super-friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff and the fabulous food (buckwheat muffins and Morracan Chicken were our faves), Binks was fantastic. Loved their locally-sourced, creative and thoughtful menu! Will definitely go there again the next time we are in Phoenix!
Can't get the flavor of the fried chicken out of my head. Will definitely go back just for that. The biscuits they serve at the start of the meal were also wonderful. We had the stuffed chili as an appetizer and I would have that again too - really interesting and delicious.
We dined here, on a Sunday evening. The place was not busy at all, so we were rather put out that we had to wait so long for someone to notice us. Then we waited too long for our glasses of wine. The food was good, but the wait staff just seemed to have a problem or attitude. I don't get it- this is a service business. What is more important, the funky ship lap décor or the customer?
Another comment on the décor. Large glass containers full of watery vegetables were part of the décor. They were NOT appetizing- they seemed to look more like biology class specimen jars than cool decorations - UGH.
Thought I would give Bink's kitchen another try. Is tmy sixth or seventh visit to this restaurant and I keep waiting for it to get better but sadly I keep getting disappointed. The food is mediocre at best and the service is always underwhelming. One of the issue seems to be poor communication between the kitchen and the servers. Too many other places that I can get a great meal with better service and overall better experience. I won't be backroad Bink's Kitchen.
It was a beautiful day, so my friend and I had lunch on the patio. It was quite enjoyable and relaxing. My friend is from Washington State, and it was his first visit to Bink's Kitchen + Bar Scottsdale. He liked it very much and enjoyed his Sand Dab Sandwich!
I had really high hopes for this restaurant since Chef Binkley is a James Beard recognized chef, but the food was very lack luster. Our service from Steven was incredible, but the baby beets were basically just two beets quartered on a plate, the filet (the meat was very flavorful and cooked perfectly) came with a micro smear of bernaise, the superfood salad tasted like it came from a deli, and the cauliflower was bland. I am going to try the midtown location because I really want to love these restaurants, but between the food and the generic ambiance for this spot, I will not be returning.
