My wife an I had dinner at 7:15 pm on a weekday.
The bartender checked us in and was extremely helpful getting us a table outside.
Our server was “Ross” (i think) and we was really great. He knew the menu and the wine list. We ordered a bottle of Pino Noir he helped us pick appetizers which consisted of 4 cheezes and meats.
Our main course and desserts where awesome.
Overall we had a great dinner and will be back again soon.
Simply yummy. Would definitely go back. It was loud but service was willing to turn down music. Chianti, pasta and good conversation…who could ask foe more?
Love the pasta dishes and very unique and exciting wines. They are great at helping me select a wine and doing quick tastings. The pasta comes out piping hot and they use truffle oil and other flavors so beautifully. Restaurant is usually full for dinner but never packed so I always feel safe inside during covid. Staff wears masks and diners seem to be respectful. The outside patio is spacious and set up beautifully with some floral planters and nice separation from the street. Always a great time!
Very nicely decorated wine bar/restaurant. Food was good, wine was good value. Server did not know the wine, disappeared and had not great response for a wine question. 45 minutes between first course and entree. Wait staff had to move too much to be efficient. Overall a nice place but not if you are pressed for time. Great playlist.
Appetizer and entree were delivered at the same time, with minimal apology. Chicken saltimboca was misnamed, since it didn’t resemble anything like traditional Italian saltimboca, and was drowned in a mustard sauce. The chicken was overcooked.
The salads my wife and I had were both good, as was the wine.
Awful. The food is mediocre. The service is not great. Order 4 piece cheese appetizer and the waitperson didn’t know what cheeses they offered. Prosciutto was domestic. Don’t waste your money.
This is an incredible spot for a date night in the city. The outdoor dining area is right alongside the street in Boston's Beacon Hill area. The pastas are handmade in-house and, yes, you can taste a different. The Bolognese is a must-try.
We always trust Open Table review to book restaurants in city that we visited. The service was terrible, the lady at the front table, rarely smile, or had a nice sentence, she was just doing her job, without making you feel welcome. It seems like they have two sizes portions and bring my son the small one, and he was so disappointed, for the little amount of food he received.
Server mixed up our order. We received our entrees before our apps and then the side order of veggies came out so much later we were already done with our meal. Seemed like they were understaffed and while that’s understandable due to covid at least offer a free dessert or something as a remedy. Server never offered us dessert we just asked for the check and still tipped her 20% because I’ve been in the service industry. Food was good just not served at the appropriate times and took a long time. If they get their act together and pay more attention to timing it would’ve been a great meal.
Excellent food with great service and a high quality wine list. Fine dining in a casual setting.
We got the lamb appetizer -- best I've ever had. The server was very knowledgable about wine pairings. The entrees (hangar steak and salmon) were outstanding.
Bravo Bin 26. While growing up in the Boston area, I just recently returned following a 28 year absence. So this was my first visit to Bin 26, well-located on Charles St adjacent to historic Beacon Hill. The establishment was created by owner Babak Bina, which is now 16 years young! We sat outside, and were greeted by Babak, who not only cleaned off our outdoor table, but provided insightful service and wine recommendations. On this warm summer evening, we had hoped for a relatively dry and crisp rosé, and Babak brought us something off the "by the glass" list to open a new bottle called "Berne Inspiration" (2019) which proved an excellent accompaniment to our pasta dishes: tagliatelle with seared scallops, onion, garlic, & red chile, and a capellini with a tomato based sauce made with fresh basil & mozzarella.
Average food. Bread stale. Vegetable served wet from steamer etc.
Noise level was due to street side outdoor dining. Food was good but the ravioli was over priced considering the stuffing was sparse and the amount of food was disproportionate to the price(130.00 including tip). My desert cannoli was 2 inches long and amounted to 2 small bites. We don’t drink and we were told that the only other beverage option was water. Overall it wasn’t worth complaining to management but we won’t be back.
Tuna was fishy - sent it back. Otherwise pretty good.
Food and service were great
I’ve been coming here since I moved back to Boston in 2015. I live in Charlestown now so it’s a little bit harder to get to, but I missed it and recently returned.
Everything was exactly how I remembered! The pasta was divine, the wine list was spectacular, and the Barada remains a must have! I highly recommend you check out this special place.
Couldn’t be happier about our experience here. Will happily
return time & time again. The sommelier was outstanding and the service was flawless.
So nice birthday
Veal.chop is amazing!
Lovely service! Food was mostly good but the tuna was lackluster and could have used more tuna and some flavor.
Terrific food. The home made pasta dishes are exceptional. Service is prompt, friendly and always professional.
The food is usually quite interesting and sometimes exceptional. Not sure If disorganized waitstaff is related to covid with insufficient employees or poor supervision but waiting 30 minutes for coffee with dessert was a bit much and having to ask for utensils when food is brought—- my husband reduced the credit card tip but I supplemented with cash- don’t want to blame the waiters during this time but more supervision is in order- this was exceptional but disorganization in service was typical at other visits was well
One of my favorite places . . . great wines . . . excellent service including advice on wine selections
Amazing service, delicious food and great selection of wines. Went on a whim, had a great experience. We will be back!
Everything about this place was amazing. I actually felt like I was back in Italy. The food and wine was outstanding. Our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable. Definitely a hidden gem.
Great food and wine.
We are outside; had a terrific time. Would recommend.
Food was exceptional and we had a nice time. So why not 5 stars? Well all the tables around us were offered bread with their drinks. We never were. Consistency earns you 5 stars, inconsistency does not.
Bin 26 hands-down offers the best service in Boston. Between the laid-back yet knowledgeable staff, excellent food and impressive wine list; there's no better choice for date night, a business meal, or a whim with friends. I can't recommend this place enough.
Food was amazing top to bottom. Service was fantastic - great recommendations and very attentive.
The food is uniformly excellent across the menu. The service is always friendly and efficient. Love the atmosphere at the bar.
Great outdoor spot for enjoying an evening, and for people watching. Menu isn’t broad enough. Our waiter hovered lot which isn’t great for relaxation. And ordering wine they ask if you want a 250ml size with no price on the menu so you’re surprised by the bill which feels tricky.
Eating outside on a busy street has its issues but that is covid and the owners of this restaurant some time ago did their best to convert a very awkward space into a dining environment so ambiance has never been superb. However the food has never been better and the wine selections are always excellent
Outdoor patio was delightful. Lively but not loud. They were busy but we felt fully tended to. Our server was great. The food was wonderful (split several apps- marinated olives, burrata, eggplant, pear wrapped in prosciutto, veggie flatbread). zero disappointments. such a great way to ease back into Boston night life and dining with friends.
We dined indoors but there was plenty of outdoor seating too. Our server Sarah was very friendly, helpful with the menu, and cheerfully helped us with a big spill. The wines were delicious and this is a good place to taste a lot of different wines. We also ate off the appetizer menu and ordered about half the items. The lamb chops and the pesto shrimp were the two best. The burrata is large and easily serves two. It was a bit pricey and a little loud. We’d go back again.
First time here. Had huge expectations and overall it was an unfortunate disappointment. The service was excellent from the greeting throughout the meal to the end. The food, however, was not good enough. The eggplant parm app was very bland, as were the meatballs. The pappardelle (sp?) entrée missed the mark -- was good, not excellent. The flavor profile was really nothing special. The squid ink spaghetti/shrimp scampi was very good, but still felt the flavors just weren't complex enough for this palate. Great wine selection -- really like the way they offer different quantities, and the wine we had was great. Energetic and fun atmosphere. Probably won't go back, sorry. Too many other great Boston restaurants offering better food.
Great over all Experience great wine list
We dined outdoors, even though it was a hot day, the tree above provided shade and there was a slight breeze. Just delightful. S
Food was frozen...
