Food was better than usual which is a plus but we were forced to book at 5:30 pm on open table b/c 6 pm was full yet empty seats remained all around us
Service was friendly but desultory
The noise level from the sound system made conversation almost impossible
My friend & I had a fabulous meal with a great server who helped us make the perfect choices of wine, mains & deserts. Everything was spot on & delicious! It was a great evening out!
Excellent wine list, great food and wonderful service.
Very nice, cozy place; good food; excellent service
Superb cuisine and wines. Love the ambience!
Three of us met for a late afternoon glass of wine and cheese and other nibbles. We each had delicious wine and delicious accompaniments. Our servers were gracious, and we had a lovely two hours of chatting. We were made to feel completely welcome, even not eating much. It was a quiet bubble of hospitality and friendship gracefully arranged by the staff.
We had two meals at Bin 26 last week and thoroughly enjoyed both. Service was excellent and food delicious. We would definitely go back when next in Boston.
Good wine selection, and we enjoyed what we ordered for both food and wine. Smaller tapas-sized plates so overall bill can add up in price, but overall an enjoyable restaurant.
Veal chop was very disappointing. Very soggy. Flavor was flat. Way overpriced. Bolognese was not too flavorful and small portion for the dinner size. We were also told a half carafe for the type of wine we wanted was cheaper than 2 glasses which ended up being untrue. Will not return.
Overall - I wouldn't go back. The food was decent but overpriced. I asked for a wine recommendation and the waiter recommended a $42 dollar GLASS of wine (which is insane, I'm in my 20s). Also, the waiter seemed to rush us a bit, which was odd given there was no one there. The best part about this place is the ambiance is nice and relaxing, but the food/wine is really nothing to write home about.
Great meal and wine recommendation on New Year’s Eve. Very happy with the service, food and ambience.
Good food - we had a couple of salads and several pasta dishes - the salads were light while the pasta tasted freshly made with lovely sauces. Meatballs were light and tasty, gnocchi was just the right amount of chewy and flavorful but chicken and green beans didn't taste very fresh. Everyone was also a bit on the salty side (as is the case with many nice restaurants). The wine selection by the glass was also great, as was the option of small tasting pours (100 mL vs. standard 250 mL glass), although their champagne/sparkling wine by the glass selection could have been better (only a prosecco and two cavas). Overall though, I'd go back for the pasta alone. Service was also very attentive and friendly.
We have been to the Bin a few times and went this weekend after a movie. Pleasantly reminded that we have a very good restaurant across the Common from the Movie theater. My Salmon main was excellent and the others in our party enjoyed their dinner as well.
The Bin 26 House red a Cabernet/Merlot blend was excellent at $ 40 bottle as well.
Quiet brunch spot. Tasty food. Service was a bit spotty but not my first time service is usually excellent so chalk it up to a one time event.
Great place with amazing food. Really worth it.
The food was fantastic. I can not say enough about it. all four of us had delicious entrees and deserts Adam and Christine were engaging and knowledgeable. This is my new “go to place” to bring guests
We had never been and all the other restaurants near them were booked, so we went for it! Food was decent. Waiter was new, but knowledgeable. Bench seats were not terribly comfortable, but they were funky/artsy. An intimate dining experience. Next time we might just sit at the bar!
I really love this place for a fun, casual night out and visit regularly. A fantastic wine selection, a varied and creative menu and a friendly and knowledgable staff make for a consistently enjoyable evening. On several occasions we've opted for a number of small plates to share (think tapas). On others, we've select from their interesting selection of entrees. We've always been extremely satisfied!
Exceptional service! I have a bunch of food intolerances and our server handled it all so well. Great spot. Excellent food. I can’t wait to come back!
Lovely restaurant. Food was delicious and the wine as well.
Service was ok but flat and a little slow even though the restaurant was not busy
A favorite local spot for brunch and dinner. Intimate but not tight, inventive without overwhelming and a service staff that is able to read if you want them nearby or for just key moments. They take good care of you!
Clean, sharp restaurant just down the way from the Boston Common and Public Garden. Menu has several nice choices though not "heavy" southern italian dishes. I'm guessing it was more of a Northern Italian influence - I mention this only because one of my guests was looking for a little lasagna!
I had the hanger steak, and my 'lasagna' friend ended up grabbing the crab meat ravioli. My other friend hit the spaghetti bolognese and added some meatballs. All meals were great.
Very quiet setting - but we were early in the evening and at the back of the restaurant so it might pipe up as the night goes by. Overall we were happy and would try it again with my wife.
We were having a dinner after not seeing each other for about 3 years, so we wanted to chat, with a glass of tasty wine, and then dine. All of those happened. A light Greek wine started our evening, then we split the delicious mixed green salad, and each enjoyed perfect trout. We finished our lengthy evening with one small canole/canolo??? Neither of us wanted the chocolate chips, and so we were rewarded with fresh, fresh canoli, with no chips. Our server was attentive in pouring the wine, but not intrusive as we caught up on jobs, friends, family, and the future. It was an outstanding evening with delicious food!
The food was tasty with an interesting menu of small and large plates. We made a mistake saying it was ok to take the dishes as they came out of the kitchen because everything came at once so things like the eggplant parm got cold and were not as good.
Laurel is wonderful!
Service was great, waitress friendly and helpful, food was delish but on smaller portion size, ambiance noisy and we sat in the back part of the restaurant that was tight seating!!! Bottom line, I’d go back
Food was delicious - excellent gluten-free pasta option. Server's wine knowledge superb. Because they do wine differently - with a 100ml option (about 3 ounces) - they won't give samples or tastes (at least our server wouldn't). That was a little disappointing, given that it has become an expectation and common practice. But this is certainly a place for foodies and wine lovers.
Great first date spot. I sat at the bar and had a great time. Good and wine were both great.
Cute little place with a great selection of wine and decent food.
It was a wonderful experience all the way around. Highly recommend.
Service a bit slow in an in busy restaurant
We LOVE bin 26 and it has been one of our favorite spots for date nights! Service and food is always excellent and the list is impressive. We especially appreciate the sommelier coming by to give us wine suggestions. Always a personal touch!
Wow! What an amazing and memorable experience.
We were warmly welcomed by the owner and then offered a tasting of a number of volcanic red wines by their sommelier after my girlfriend mentioned she has been hunting for a particular one. It felt like we were being treated like family even though this was our first visit.
We couldn’t help but indulge with a couple of glasses each along with our meals, which were each excellent. I especially recommend the meatballs - they’re perhaps the best I’ve had in 10 years living in Boston. Fresh, tender, and great flavor.
This was a truly memorable meal and experience for us. We will certainly be back, and soon!
It’s a restaurant in my neighborhood to which I go for special dinners Tonight’s diner was the very best I’ve enjoyed there for years. Interesting combinations made each dish fresh and new, while preserving each dish’s essence. We had particularly perfect rose. Each of us had the perfect meal we’d hoped for
Wine was excellent but featured bottles (on menu) wasn't/weren't chilled so long wait. Food was quite good. But be CAREFUL--there are apparently "Full" portion prices (if you are in a party of more 3 or more) that are NOT on the menu and the server decides I guess that you want the larger size. Twice the price.
We arrived early and chose to sit at the back of the restaurant to reduce noise levels as the restaurant filled up. Our waitress was excellent, the food was fabulous and the menu options were creative and varied.
Sister birthday dinner. Kristina and Lauren were awesome and took great care of us! They asked questions on our food/drink likes and dislikes, offered great suggestions, and accommodated our requests. The food was served promptly and was excellent. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner and never felt rushed by the staff. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I will recommend Bin 26 to everyone!
Went for lunch. Great menu, reasonably priced. Food was delicious! The restaurant has a very nice, comfortable decor.
Food was fabulous. Walked into an empty restaurant except for one table with a few adults and two small loud children. So, of course, they tried to seat us right next to this noisy bunch. We pleaded for an option and were moved one small table away. Our waitress clearly was a far cleverer human being than we lowly customers might ever aspire to be.... when she neglected to place our second course order with the kitchen (first course arrived in perfect time. With a 30-minute gap between first and second, we inquired and were haughtily informed “this isn’t a fast food restaurant!”) Without the thoughtless seating plan and server’s attitude, this would have been a five+ star experience. Chef is to be commended and the sommelier was friendly and not intrusive.
The food is excellent, the location on Charles St is great. The only thing is that the portions of food (Mc and cheese & bolognaise pasta were very small. We left the restaurant being hungry.
