Unfortunately, Wednesday is not their best night. Crab cakes burnt, prime rib cold and excessively fatty, salads mediocre, and out of salmon. Waitress not well versed or trained for dinner settings. We had to hold up salad plates as dinnee plates arrived. No service to remove them. Grab a manager or server for help. WOW. This 100% opposite of one week prior on a Thursday. We cannot believe the difference. Had to be a different cook and management team.
Great food and service!!
The Tradition continues. My New York Strip was done exactly as requested, my wife's pork chop was also excellent. A solid wine menu and the bartender knows, thankfully, how to prepare proper cocktails, which seems to be a dying art.
We dined at Billy's for my Father's day meal. We were seated as soon as we arrived for our reservation. No waiting. The food was excellent and was prepared the way we asked for. The service was exceptional. Traci was our server and she made sure we had everything we needed. She checked on us throughout the meal but did not hover. Just the right amount of attention.
I and most of my family enjoyed the food but my picky teenage daughter wasn’t impressed with her meal that she had adjusted for her preferences. The server was delightful and the environment calm and peaceful for the early time our family likes to eat dinner.
Lovely food and ambiance as usual.
As always, Billy's doesn't disappoint! We love dining at Billy's and brought my In-laws for Father's Day. We had a great meal and everyone enjoyed the special day!!
Great service and wonderful brunch menu. We’ll definitely stop in again the next time we’re in Roanoke.
Good food and drink selection, attentive and friendly service. Delicious steaks. A little too adult rowdy for kids outside. Great location. Highly recommend.
Gabby made sure we were satisfied with everything! We had a great time and good meal! Lamb shank was definitely a great choice. Salmon was dry and veggies ok. Still felt special and got what we came for!
Our food varied from trout to salmon to filet to prime rib and rib eye. Every platter was outstanding!! The waitress/ service was great too. Never had to ask for water refills.
Probably one of the best tomes I’ve had at Billy’s!
Server was sharp, attentive, knowledgeable and very pleasant. She made the dining experience . So gladly giving Danielle the praise she deserves. Meals well proportioned and prepared. Nice to see quality restuarant dining in downtown is alive and well.
Lots of potential however they failed to cook a filet properly when asked for Pittsburgh rare or black and blue, it came out with blue cheese. They also need more wine by the glass selections. I will revisit very friendly staff, and perfect location.
So convenient to meet family and have a good dining experience. It is on our " no brainer " list.
Had a great time at Billy’s. Our server couldn’t have been any nicer it helpful. She was amazing! The food was excellent and with the server, it made a great night excellent!! Thank you!
Exceptional food. Husband loved the crab cakes. Lobster mac and cheese and tomato basil soup were best ever. Dressy, yet casual works fine. Noise level not bad. Great waiter! We were his second customer, and he went out of his way to please.
Great service, great food, great time! We always visit Billy's on evenings when we attend the theater.
Service could’ve been quicker. It took 10+ minutes for a greet. Food was great though.
Very nice decor. Super friendly and attentive staff. Food was great. Highly recommend.
Very nice atmosphere, good service, great food. I think I was overcharged for my glass of wine but it was good.
Greg waited on us for our 4 year anniversary and we could not have had better service. His recommendations with regard to food, wine, and dessert were spot on. We were here for Valentine’s Day and this evening far surpassed that evening. Thank you to all who played a part in our celebration.
Everything is perfect!!!
The oysters were good on the shell and for me they saved the meal along with the cheesy grits.
I was glad to find Bombay Dry Gin on the bar, but there were no true martini glasses. I was promised a "Pittsburgh style " Cowboy rib eye and it was not even close. A Cowboy rib eye that is very thin and only tan on the outside is not worth $35. My steak was easily the poorest example I have found anywhere at that price. Our dinner rolls arrived with desert. Dinner for two was $150 plus and I expected it to be closer to $100. We advised we were celebrating a birthday but there was no sign that the staff knew or cared. I will not return unless there are changes.
Mother’s Day was the occasion and even though we generally enjoy Billys, this will probably be the last Mother’s Day we’ll spend there for a while. It’s just too much money to spend for four adults when one on my adult sons only ate a pancake, bacon, Mac and cheese, ice cream, and had a lemonade to drink! Food is good though, especially the crab cakes!
We eat the buffet every year on mother's day. This year was terrible. The food wasn't even close to worth the price. The staff didn't keep dishes stocked for the buffet, and the omelet station location made the line for food crowded and confusing. We will go to 419 next year. For $160 I could've made a much better meal. Really disappointing!
My mother-in-law, daughter, and I enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day Brunch Buffet here and I definitely plan to go back for future visits. I've already asked my husband about us planning a date night here!
Was hoping to try their brunch menu but because it was mother's day it was a buffet. Choices were good but it was very pricey for what was offered.
Wonderful dining experience, we will definitely return next time we are in town!!
Brandie’s service was awesome, great menu knowledge and wonderful suggestions! She made the night!!
Billy's is consistently a good choice; good variety of menu options & good service. My wife's prime rib (her usual choice @ Billy's) was excellent as was my cajun chicken with penne. The "happy hour" cosmos were very good & at a welcome price. Despite being quite busy, the service was attentive & prompt. The large portions forced us to forego dessert. This remains one of our favorites in Roanoke.
It was my husband and I wedding anniversary and wanted to try something different. When I made the reservation I placed celebrating special occasion which was not mention. The server we had was nice and very knowledgeable of the menu which was great. We did have some downsides to the first visit. We ordered two appetizers one was the calamari which was very salty and overly seasoned which we stated to server and nothing was done. And the other was the lobster mac and cheese was delicious.
We ordered dinner which my husband ordered the salmon and myself the prime rib. He enjoyed the salmon but, the rice was crunchy and undercooked. The server stated that was the way it was suppose to be and offered to bring my husband mash potatoes instead. My prime rib was one of the best that I have tasted and I truly enjoyed it. But, I have to say the mashed potatoes was very salty. I do know that salt can get away from the hand but, overly salty food can leave a bad taste in the mouth.
I do want to say we did mention all of this to our server Steve that stated that it was someone new in the kitchen. We was completely surprised that no one in managerment came and spoke with us on our experience at the resturant.
It had been about a year since we last dined here. If we were locals, I suspect we would be here on a regular basis. The trout and the salmon were both terrific. The food was fresh and lightly seasoned, just the way we like it -- Looking forward to our next visit.
Went to Billy's with another couple last Saturday night. This was not our first visit. On this occasion, the food was not good. My filet was prepared to my liking but it was cold. My wife's soft shell crab was too fishy and ate only a little. A woman with use ordered the salmon and didn't eat but a little. She said it was dry. We have reservations for Mother's Day, and at this late date will keep this reservations as other resturants are booked. If it is poor again it will be our last visit
The jerk chicken was wonderful. Matthew made our early Mother's Day celebration very special.
The food and service were great! So glad that Billy's continues to thrive!
We have had dinner there many times. We had 7:15 reservations and were seated promptly.
We received our dinner at 8:30. We shared one appetizer and then we waited--------
Our server was very nice and clearly over worked. He had 2 big parties in the other room. The manager dropped by our table to apologize ,but didn't even offer a complimentary desert or drink to compensate for our wait. There were tables around us that came ,ate,& left. we were only a party of 3. I had the miso glazed salmon it was excellent and my husband had the prime rib that he felt was equal to a chain style restaurant.
This was the perfect atmosphere for Sunday brunch with my best friend. The breakfast nachos were something I would highly recommend to anyone, and my friend had the Chesapeake benedict which she also loved. Great mimosas. Highly recommend.
The service was good, no real complaints there. The atmosphere was nice and I’m sure it’s even better when they aren’t as busy. The ribeye was pretty bland so it didn’t really feel like it was worth $35.
This was my first time at Billy's. We arrived on time for our reservation and were promptly seated. It was very crowded since it was Prom Night but we quickly received our drinks and food. The food was delicious. Each of us had a different dish (crab cakes, trout, salmon, and shrimp and grits). I do wish we had been seated at a quieter table but all in all it was a wonderful experience. I definitely want to visit again!
Food and service was outstanding. The fire alarm went off soon after we arrived due to smoke in the kitchen. No problem, just annoying until the fire department arrived to silence the alarm.
Definitely has some interesting food selections. The steaks are probably not there specialty. My parents fish was great, but our steaks were undercooked. Okay for the price
