Bill's Bar and Burger Ratings and Reviews
Average Place , nothing special. Nothing wrong either. Burgers were good, service was pretty quick. They sat us in the back, which was warm. Seemed like the air did not reach us. Went on a Saturday around 6pm and the place wasn't busy.
Probably would not return, but would recommend for a quick burger and beer.
This was a rather disappointing experience compared to when we first ate at Bill's Burger at their Chelsea branch. The fries were cold and uncrisp - although this was replaced when we complained, the fresh (hot) ones were also not crisp at all. My burger (South) was quite good but my husband' burger was rather dry. The service was OK but unremarkable. It was very noisy.
Service was slowest we've had in NYC. Waiter brought one drink and didn't bring other drink until after food was served. Food served efficiently, but I think the English muffin on the award winning burger was over toasted and hard to cut. Had better burgers in UK many times. Overall, reasonable, but our experience was not in line with other TripAdvisor users who recommended it
Burgers were good. Service swift. My only issue were the kids meals. Kids meals are all $13. My daughters (kids meal) burger was 13. She added cheese ($1) bacon ($2). And wanted root beer ($2) so her kids meal was $18! My adult meal was 11$! We were not told of of these upcharges.
This is a great space! We had just flown in from Scotland after 10 days of heaven and wanted good ole USA hamburgers. We had junk fries, which were incredible. So much so that I am craving them back at home in Houston. My husband had the patty melt, which hit all the right notes. I had the konnichiwa burger which frankly is fun to say. I had hoped for thicker patties. It is evident they are formed by hand. By not being thicker, I feel the patty wasn't as moist as it could have been. I also feel there was a lot going on between the slaw and ketchup and it was difficult to distinguish all the flavors. I was expecting more from my burger and wish I'd had a plain ole cheeseburger instead. Besides that, we had a great meal and the server was awesome. He was engaging and gave us a list of restaurants to try.
We enjoyed a quick, early Sunday lunch here before a theater show with the kids. Lots of choices on the menu for adults and large kids portions. Loved that there was vinegar on the table for fries...the sign of a true burger joint! Very quick service as we were there before the lunch crowd.
Bill's changed their menu, and I am not impressed, it was once GOOD value but now its fair. Beer selection have decreased and cost have gone up by 30%--significant and not what I expected when I took friends here for beer night. But food and atmosphere is still on par and definitely a great location for burgers in a touristy location.
Chef Alex, whom my wife knows, came to greet us at our table as well as when we were leaving. Very personable an we enjoyed quite a few laughs. I apologize for not remembering his name but our waiter was superb. Very attentive to our needs for refills, to ask if we needed anything, brought extra napkins and very polite.
All in all a WONDERFUL experience after enjoying Miss Saigon.
Great location and menu, we picked this for the last night of our holiday. Great food and it arrived quickly but after that, service not amazing. Went somewhere else for dessert. As Brits we do understand the tipping culture but we begrudge tipping when service is not great. We did still tip. Would recommend but maybe there's a reason it wasn't full.
Service was very slow, food was delivered cold and had to be returned. They then forgot to replace some of the food so we had to wait again, it was then delivered cold again. Drinks were slow and one was delivered just as we were paying the check. Not a good experience.
