The food always is fantastic. Our service was okay, it wasn't that crowded so I think the waitress could have been a little more attentive but still she did a good job. The noise level went up when a group came in and sat at the bar, not overly noisy, just general talking but it seemed loud but we were getting ready to leave so not a big deal. Overall, one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh to go.
Popped into Bill's after arriving at Westin. Had one of the best burger's I’ve ever had! And certainly never had food and service in a restaurant attached to a hotel that was as good as Bill's. Highly recommend it!
Highly recommend for dinner enjoying a burger! Ranch Hand was incredible. Service top notch from David.
Even with the Furries in town, I had a great experience. Almost no wait. Fantastic shake and burger!
Always a great meal. Kyle was awesome. Love the shakes and free WiFi!
Great place for a quick work meeting. Free WiFi, large tables. Quick service, great food!
Excellent as always!
Wonderful service, food, and a great place for family. The staff and manager were amazing!
We love the soft pretzel appetizer but you discontinued it. The burgers were ok only because the bun was a bit stale. The milkshake was delicious. We have been to Bills several times and raved to everyone about how great it was but it seems our last two visits in the past 3 weeks have been a disappointment. :(
Nice bar adjacent to conventi6 center
Bill's Bar & Burger was a great place for my wife, children and I to eat before the penguin game. Food was excellent and the service was awesome. Jennifer our server was, "Johnny on the spot". She couldn't have been more pleasant. She was very personable and made sure everything was perfect for our visit there. I will be eating here again very soon!
This was our first time at Bill's Bar & Burger and we were all pleased with the restaurant. My nieces were in town for a convention at the Convention Center, so I thought it would make sense to have lunch close to their location. We will definitely return the next time they're in town!
My burger was cold and disappointing. Should have sent it back but was really hungry. Seemed to take a long time for our order. Just disappointed in all but service was good.
Burgers were good, onion rings Ok, speciality drinks prices (but it is inside a major hotel). We may go back, but there are many options in the city.
We had never been at BB&B before, but we had tickets for a ballet at the August Wilson Center, so we decided to park at the Bus Station, eat at BB&B, and attend the ballet. Although the hostess seemed blase, our waiter was excellent---attentive, cooperative, making suggestions, and going "all out" to make our experience as good as it could be---and it was! The food was delicious, the waiter (did not get his name---our bad) was experienced, expressive, helpful and courteous. It was wrestling weekend, and although the bar was crowded and noisy, the dining area was fine. We definitely will be back.
NCAA national wrestling tournament
Already spoke to the manager Tony via phone and he wants to make things better for the next visit since the service took awhile to get up and running... once we finally got a waitress she was good. So I give them credit for the follow up and appreciate the fact they strive to make things better. Burgers and salad were delicious!
They accepted our reservation but when we showed up they said restaurant was closed due to a private party in progress. Host took us to their scaled down location in another part of hotel complex and after some wrangling sat us. Had to ask for manager....was not a seamless encounter.
The music was too loud for conversation at the tables in the bar area which was where we were seated.
Bill's has great food and very friendly service. They are quite busy so I recommend reserving a table prior to going! We had reservations and got seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time.
Lunchtime break from work, good burgers and service
I've been here before and overall the place is fine, inside the Westin, nice hotel, great location etc. What irked me is that we on purpose chose to eat here as we were attending an afternoon hockey game followed by the car show at the convention center next door and they have this fabulous brunch with bloody mary bar advertised AS WELL as validated parking with your meal. There was no brunch or bloody mary bar and no one there had any idea about validated parking. We had soup, pretzels and salad, not exactly a cool brunch. they claimed they were so busy the day before they ran out of everything?? And someone at the front desk finally convinced them to give us parking passes but they were only for the hour or so it took us to eat so our parking was still fairly costly.
We ordered an appetizer of spinach artichoke dip which came out cold... at one point we had asked for a glass of water and after 10 minutes I went to the bar myself to get it. Our waitress then brought the water over approximately 15 minutes after ordered. When out food came out...one of our burgers were not delivered. The food runner said it was on it's way. 5 minutes later the waitress came over and asked what the order was... 20 minutes later we had all finished our meal and the last meal was finally delivered and OVERCOOKED ! Due to it being so late and starving..our friend tried to eat the burger and did not want to say anything. Truly it was a horrible experience all around. I realize places get buzy..but the waitress's lack or acknowledgement made it was worse.
Absolutely horrible service and food. We came for the brunch Bloody Mary Bar that is advertised. There was no Bloody Mary bar and the response to why was they didn’t have the stuff. We then ordered our food and it was completely cold. The chef came out 15 minutes later finally and took our food off, however we were overcharged for the Bloody Mary and mimosa. Then waited longer to have the bill fixed. We asked for cranberry to add to the mimosa as well because it was horrible and never got it. Overall it was a horrible experience. They didn’t seem to really care much either until it was time to pay the bill. I’m glad I didn’t pick this venue for my wedding because we were going to have brunch the next day as well as late night munchies with bills. Never go here!
Food is always delicious and our waiter was fantastic
Average tasting hamburger but nice place. Convient location if you are staying at the Westin but not a very tasty hamburger. Chopped salad was a nice size and good tasting. Wouldn't go back and order the hamburger.
Service and food were great .
We got the MoMooo and the Blackened Blue. The burgers and atmosphere were great. It is good for an every day meal.
Our food arrived cold. The burgers were over done. The waitress was not attentive. She forgot to bring my meal until I reminded her. She automatically ordered an $18 glass of wine for my friend without telling her how much it was. She claimed it was the only wine they had when there were definitely less expensive options.
Overall this place was ok. I’m not sure if I had too high expectations or this place just wasn’t all that impressive. First I read that reservations were required. But not sure why. I had a burger and it was good but I thought it would be out if the world. Service was ok but for an relatively slow evening I want impressed. Last, seriously NO TEA. I was starting to catch a cold and want hot tea and was told they ran out. How does this caliber of restaurant run out of tea. They had iced tea so I said put in mug and warm in microwave. lol and behold a tea bag was found. But I had to ask for a second mug of hot water. And with a messy burger I had to ask for more napkins. So. Not up to the high standard or did I have too high expectations?
Awesome place and great service! Highly recommend.
The pepperoni soup and chili were awesome! My husband and I both got burgers and we did not enjoy them at all. They come well done and the meat was very dry. It was a slow afternoon and I would expect to have attentive service and instead we had to look for our server for drink refills, napkins and we had to get up to get our own ketchup since the one on the table was empty. The bar area looked nice and I can see it would be a fun place for drinks and snacks in the evening.
Service was great and everyone was very friendly. Food was not bad, but pretty underwhelming- nothing very special for the price. The restaurant itself is nice and quite large.
First time at a Bill's. It was very good... Burgers were good, Fish tacos were awesome, the only thing that wasn't good were the mini burger sliders. The beef was shriveled up, over done and tasted that way.
The server was very nice but didn’t write down our order. Both meals were wrong .
Delicious food and David, our server, was incredible!
Took a long time to get drinks and food. Fries were cold.
Burger place, but compares poorly to a BRGR or Burgatory. My pretzel bun was stale, and the homemade chips were average at best. I had the "Ranch" burger which came with both BBQ sauce and onion mayo, and it was just a sloppy mess to eat -- one sauce too many.
Would not recommend.
Restaurant is located in the Westin Hotel. Our party of four arrived 7:20 PM Sunday night... 20 minutes late for our reservation. The restaurant was not busy (only five occupied tables when we arrived), so we were seated promptly. Our waitress brought our beverage order and took our food order... then we waited....and waited... for over one hour before our food order (burgers!) arrived. While we were waiting, we decided to order additional beverages... our waitress was not closely monitoring her tables, so we had to wait until she peeked into the dining area and saw us wave. We ordered the 2nd round of beverages and asked about the status of our order... she grumpily replied "it will be out soon" (probably not happy about the slowness of the kitchen). She did come by 10 minutes later to offer a reason for the delay... a nine-top had arrived and ordered before us. When our food order finally arrived, only three of our four meals were delivered to our table (waitress error... the fourth meal was never written down on her order pad). The kitchen quickly rectified the problem (actually a plus, because the burger came out medium-rare instead of medium-well that we were told to expect due to company policy!). One of the chefs personally delivered the missing meal and apologized. Other than the disappointing company policy that gave us medium-well burgers, we were pleased with the overall quality of the food we received. However, the inattentive service and long wait detracted from our overall dining experience.
It was an okay experience, but pricey for just okay. We picked the place because of offerings on theIr menu on OpenTable, one item being sushi. Our server indicated it has been a “long time” since they had sushi. It’s not okay that no one has bothered to update it. That lack of attention to detail followed throughout the experience here. As for the burgers, you can do much better in Pittsburgh without trying hard. I wouldn’t recommend Bill’s.
