Inside the restaurant looked like a lodge. They tried to sit us right outside the kitchen until we asked to be moved.
The server was a rude to my son and we didn’t app red coats it!
The French onion soup was WAY to salty... chef- you need to taste the food you are serving.
I ordered the special which was supposed to include seared tuna. The tuna was cooked WELL DONE on the first attempt and cooked so much I couldn’t eat it. The server brought a second plate of tuna and it was cooked well done as well. I don’t think they knew how to prepare the food they indicated was the special. Made me incredibly sad.
The rest of my family ordered duck or lamb chops which was supposed to be a signature dish and yet we found it to be mediocre.
I really am hard pressed to understand the reviews of the restaurant being a 4.7... to me it should have been at best a 2 star. Needless to say, I don’t need to go back.
Lovely evening. Sat outside and enjoyed the goat cheese and artichoke souffle. Duck had good sauce and was very tasty. Both crust and skin was a little soggy like it had been prepared in advance. The burger was great. Salad delish. Strip steak wonderful and the trout was good. All in all a very good meal.dessert of sorbet with brownie !!Yum. Left stuffed!
Food is outstanding. Best onion soup and duckling ever.. nice set-up outside.
Food is always perfection and wait staff is lovely!
Couldn’t get outside this time which was disappointing but c’est la vie.
Bijou has always been a special place for both lunch with friends, dinners with family and "date night". It's a pleasure to be out and about again and to see that they are able to have more outdoor dining.
My favorite restaurant in Sarasota. You know it’s going to be a special evening when you come here. Excellent food and our favorite waiter Grayson is the very best.
The food is delicious and the staff always goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and special!
Has been our “ go to “ place for a nice evening out since the 1980s
our menu choices usually center on pepper steak and the duck but have ventured into other items and specials and have not been disappointed
Would recommend this restaurant to anyone without hesitation!!!!
Always perfect and memorable every time we visit. One of our very favorite places!
The food, ambiance and service were all excellent!
Cafe Bijoux never disappoints. The quality of the cuisine and the attention to every detail is always perfect. My husband and I started with our long-time favorites, seafood bisque for him, pâté for me. I believe it’s the best, silkiest pâté I’ve ever tasted. Tonight’s entree was duck, and it was done perfectly. We finished with crime brûlée... I can’t wait until we go back next time.
Fabulous french food and nice ambience outside. The service was excellent and just the right speed for us since we were going to a concert - they were very cognizant of when we needed to leave.
Bijou has always been one of our favorite restaurants. However, this visit was a disappointment. There were no heaters - it was a chilly night and with COVID we only eat outdoors. The food was good but not great and it took more than 40 minutes for the entrees to be served. Service was adequate but not superior as one would expect from this caliber of restaurant. Not rushing back.
What a refined place in Sarasota. Had a wonderful meal.
It was a wonderful dinner for us celebrating Valentine's Day.
Lovely Valentines Day Dinner.
Very romantic for Valentine’s Day. Our waiter was about as knowledgeable as we have ever had anywhere and made great recommendations
One of Sarasota's finest, fine dining establishments. The Bijou gave us the romantic Valentine dinner we wanted - safe, distanced, masked (staff) with the excellent food, wine, and service we know to expect. They are a community treasure and should be supported.
A wonderful, delicious Valentine's Dinner! Everything was perfect - the impeccable service and our entrees were outstanding. Expect the best of Sarasota everytime from everyone at Bijou.
The food was very good and the service was great! I would definitely recommend anyone to come eat here. We will come again! Thank you
White tablecloths in a bland room room. Service came off a little arrogant at first, until I ordered a nice bottle of wine. Lobster and Crab bisque was phenomenal, mains were not great (peppercorn steak and duck).
I would have given 5 stars except for the fact when I made the reservation, I said it was our anniversary but their usual little anniversary table setting at dessert time was ignored. We have gone here numerous times and at least 15 years straight to celebrate our anniversary. This is the first time they forgot. I would say that my wife loved her lamb but my NY strip was a little tough. The steak tartar appetizer wasn't the best I have ever had, either. It was a busy night so maybe that was it. Our waitress was attentive so I think someone else forgot the anniversary request.
Always a great place to dine!
I had the single Beef Wellington and was blown away!
We ate before going to the opera house, and always love the Bijou Cafe because of it’s close proximity to the Sarasota Opera. It’s always fun for our group of opera loving friends to dress up and make an evening of it.
The inside is set up for social distancing. There is extensive outside dining. Food and service are always excellent.
Our first night put at a restaurant since months of Covid shutdown, and it was Perfect!🤩
Another wonderful evening at Bijou! A perfectly congenial and satisfying experience. They make every guest feel special and appreciated. Oh, the food happens to be terrific, too!
First time and it was a good overall experience The food was great, but they need to have bigger bread baskets!
The service was adequate. We ate outside. They could use bigger tables for outdoor dining if you have four or more people imo.
I would visit again.
Always have a great dining experience at Bijou. The food is delicious, the service is professional, the surroundings and noise levels are appropriate for an upscale dining experience.
Had a beautiful anniversary dinner here. The food was excellent. Great wine list. The bottle list was much more encompassing than the glass list.
An excellent outdoor dining option for Sarasota. The food was very good and the service we got from Dior was excellent.
Attentive service and excellent food. The meal started with great bread, which is always a indication of what is to come.
Highly recommend and will return.
Great French restaurant! Everything was top notch. With all the wonderful downtown Sarasota restaurant options we chose to eat here twice on our 5 day vacation.
Great food, great wine and great service. I recommend this place for sure.
Always consistently wonderful!
Food, wine, and service superb! The atmosphere was a bit sterile, perhaps some soft music. Highly recommend this restaurant and we will return.
Awesome evening - could have not been better. We were seated outside - socially distanced - enjoyed a great bottle of wine. Salads were tasty, appealing and just the right size! Burger was the best I have had and friends really enjoyed the trout. Waiter was awesome- very attentive! Creme brûlée didn’t disappoint! Will definitely return soon!
Le Bijou Cafe in downtown Sarasota was a culinary delight. Escargot appetizer, entrees of roast duckling with mixed berry & cognac sauce, the shrimp piri piri had a spicy bite and the side of brussel sprouts with sriracha aioli was delicious. Kenji our server was attentive & fun. It was special night! Highly recommend.
