Great local eatery. Food always good, great fun, relaxed atmosphere
Waitress was so rude I won’t be back. Took her 20 minutes to even come to our table, she looked annoyed to have to serve us and then our actual order took 45 minutes to arrive. Sat without water for almost full meal. I had high hopes this would be my new favorite in the neighborhood but I won’t be back.
There were quite a few empty tables, so the restaurant was hardly busy. Yet we waited over 70 min for our food, with the waitress not checking on our food or us until we flagged her down 40 min in. 40 min in, we asked and she said the kitchen was a little backed up but the food would be right out - but it took another 30 min. No apology, no checking on us (in over an hour of waiting!) unless we flagged her down. Very slow kitchen, poor service, would not go again.
It’s such a cute space! But, the food was terribly disappointing. Mediocre vegetarian options, which included a mushy veggie burger that, with cheese, comes in around $20. The vegetarian pasta literally looked like it was leftover from another table with one or two bits of tomato. The highlight was the salmon which was well cooked. Servers were pleasant, but they seemed understaffed.
Loved the flavors of Persian cuisine. It was packed on a Friday night so service was spotty. The special stew is delightful. As for appetizers, just know that the mezze plate while tasty is overpriced -- we ordered 3 and the servings were little more than dollops (2 tablespoons each at best) for $21.
This place nothing but amazing! All the food taste good. Definitely will coming back.
Food and service were great, although when I first walked in, took them a little while to acknowledge that I was there. There was a guy behind the bar just staring at me and not saying anything. Other than that, everything was great. I’d definitely come back, those buckwheat pancakes are to die for
Wonderful neighborhood spot - very cozy with fireplace and old movies showing on the wall. Food was delicious and service was great. Really loved this place! Close to Hilton Hotel and subway stops.
We loved the friendly vibe and artsy decor, very relaxed and comfortable. Nice cocktails and very good food--nothing fancy, just delicious and satisfying. Unusually good veggie burger and excellent fries. The mezze plate was tasty. Perfect place to hang out with friends over a good meal.
We were there for brunch - it was bustling and noisy, just below the level of being too loud. The service was excellent and both hostess and waitress were very nice. The $20 prix fixe for brunch (includes various fun versions of Bellinis) was a fair deal and the food was quite good. Recommended: the sweet potato fries and lamb burger (note: you pay $1.50 more for cheese on your burger - choice of feta & blue, as well as the standard cheeses). It would have been nice to have a little side salad of mixed greens as part of the dish, but lettuce, onion, and tomato did come with the ample lamb burger (*not* a little lamb burgini!) The only downside was that they take cash *only* (there's an ATM nearby if you forget.) Very conveniently located near the A and C train lines.
Great brunch in great restaurant
Great food and price. Only downside is the service takes a long time. Brunch took over 2 hours for 4 entrees and 2 cocktails each.
Food was a bit pricy for quality and lunch.
Good happy hour though!
Adorable venue! Super cozy with a fireplace for the winter. We had a great time. Food is good, portions are on the small side so don’t go starving. Service can be a tad slow but it’s a small space and an even smaller kitchen so it’s to be expected. Go check it out.
Really nice atmosphere however service was not great. Maybe it was just our waiter however 1:15 for the food to come is not acceptable especially when all the dishes except mine were brought. After a few mins I reminded the waiter and he went to get it. Sorry, disappointed because I really enjoyed the atmosphere.
My wife and I had an awful experience. We sat down at 630 and after waiting around for 5-10 minutes without any server coming to us, we flagged one down, put in an order and asked if it was possible for us to get out by 730 for a show. They said that'd be no problem. At 7, we still had no food, and asked if our order was coming out soon. They said it was being plated. Ten minutes later.... still nothing! We ended up having to leave after being there for 45 minutes and receiving no food.
The service was awful. They lied and had no idea what they were doing. I have no idea how this restaurant is in business.
Delicious and a great deal
The service was very slow and took nearly 35 minutes to get coffee (while we were already eating). We we're the first ones in there so it shouldn't have been an issue.
We generally love this place for dinner but the brunch experience was mediocre.
I have been to Bijan's a few times in the past, and this time the service was most accommodating. I planned a celebration dinner for my friends who have recently gotten a domestic partnership, and Ferdia and Bianca were very pleasant in helping me set up the table and surprise them. Excellent service, food, and ambiance!
Omg food was delicious. My waitor.
We came here with a large group and had to leave after 1.5 hours with no food. To be fair they brought out our drinks pretty quickly, but it appeared to be an issue with the kitchen. The drinks were great and the waiter kind, but I feel like management handled the situation very poorly.
Sunday brunch in a cozy & friendly spot - wood fire crackling on a very cold January afternoon.
Service good, food good value for $20 brunch, including cocktail.
Bijan is the cutest place ever! It’s very quaint. The food is really good too! I had the special which was a beef stew with Persian flavors. It was very tasty. The best part of the meal though, was the saffron rice....it was incredibly delicious..and I’m not a big fan of rice!
My friend had a vegetarian tagliatelle pasta dish. It was delicious also.
To finish we had their homemade tiramisu....very good.
The service was a little slow but they were nice so not really a big deal to us. It’s a great place to spend time.
Great decor and ambiance. A good find for New Year's Eve.
Fireplace, good food, relaxed, comfortable vibe, old movie on a big screen...fun!
Average experience. Not able to see why it's on the Google search for best Brooklyn lunch list. Nothing wrong with it just nothing special. They were out of chicken for the kabobs!? Only one staff member there to do everything- not crowded and the place is small so it was ok-ish ...but still...
Table arrangements are crowded in and not cozy- no sense of any atmosphere at all.
Too many other places to try so no need to come back here.
We were only one of only three tables in the restaurant. There was another large group but their table seemed mostly clear so we assumed they had already eaten. With only one server to attend everyone we knew to be patient but ordering was confusing and difficult. After we'd placed our app orders and then gotten them in a reasonable amount of time, the large group approached the server and demanded to know where their food was. Apparently they had been waiting over an hour for their entrees. They then got into a verbal argument with the kitchen staff as well.
The appetizers were okay. The flatbreads were good and portioned well but the meze were minuscule and not worth $24. However the entrees were weird. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich (no idea how that is 'Persian' which might have been my mistake) which I thought would be some kind of lox but instead was fish salad style. My coworker got a chicken salad sandwich which was inedible. Even the Persian burger came on a slice of baguette that was tough and hard to eat. No one was happy with their food and we all ordered something different. The server seemed as though he had picked this shift up as a favor to someone and wasn't used to serving at all. It was supposed to be a joyous celebration for a big achievement at work but instead was awkward, stilted and mediocre.
I walked in and they said that they were having issues with electricity and were unsure if they were opening.
The food was fantastic. Even my sister’s cold eggs Benedict and my simultaneously over cooked and undercooked eggs tasted good. The steak was perfectly cooked. Everything tasted great. The service was horrible. Beyond horrible. And they only take cash.
Service was slow, food was good but just warm.
Nice place most dishes were of a good standard and decent service.
overall, food was fresh and tasty. service was unenthusiastic and mediocre. menu didn’t offer enough variety or interest for me to return.
Was curious what this place is & wants to be before eating here, and remain curious afterward - not sure if they even completely know. Drawn in by the floral-flavored cocktails (agreeably flavorful if not very nuanced; a relative bargain at eleven bucks) and Persian specials, which were meh; it seemed everyone else in the place, which was only 30-40% full on a Thursday evening (which made for conversation-friendly noise levels), ordered burgers and such. And then there were multiple TVs going, in the manner of the sports bar half of its personality which was cranking out all those burgers. The Persian half deserves a better atmosphere - and better execution on the food. It's OK, but with so many other options nearby I won't hurry back.
Service was a train wreck.
We went for brunch on a Saturday and they were doing some major painting on the window outside. The waitress was borderline scary, the bartender that brought us our drinks was expressionless. When we ordered one additional drink, they ended up bringing two instead of one. Prices are great for brunch and food was pretty good! Liked the quirky yet rustic decor.
A number of items were unavailable by just 9;00pm. We then waited for 30 minutes for our appetizer. After our entrees didn’t come by the 60 minute mark, we left. Friendly staff, but the wait was incredibly frustrating.
Our waiter was great! Very helpful with advice on menu choices and very friendly and welcoming. My salad was delicious!
Food came out not seasoned, late, and wrong items kept coming to our table.
Great food. The service was terribly slow. Only one server for the entire restaurant
Service was great, loved the vide of the restaurant. Food was better than average.
