Bijan's Brooklyn
Great for a date or getting together with friends! Nice and cozy!
The pancakes were everything! Yummy
This was my first experience at a Persian restaurant. The cocktails were great, social distancing and safety were a priority, and food was quickly out with a friendly waiter. I would recommend the spot to anyone looking for a good time.
Wait staff need to come by more often. Only complaint coffee was old and it was part of their special lunch. No half and half for coffee!
It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy a brunch with friends on Sunday. The trouble started when I waited with my friends while a harried server walked around us and then proceeded to seat a party that arrived after we did at the table reserved for us! Not a good start, and it only went downhill. The server didn't write things down when she took our orders which is always a bad sign. My friend asked for less ice in his ice tea and still got plenty of ice to the brim. When ordering he kept insisting that my other friend's Persian omelet contain "no bacon" which is probably why my 2 eggs any style came with absolutely no bacon (it was supposed to come with either bacon or sausage). So for my dish, we paid $15 for a couple of scrambled eggs, a handful of potatoes and 2 pieces of very dry toast. Not worth it! Luckily we were seated far enough away from the loud music emanating from the restaurant that we could actually hold a conversation. Service was slow because the servers were obviously overwhelmed even though it wasn't very busy. (There were empty tables).
Unfortunate We had terrible experience in Bijan’s. After moving and unpacking for a whole week we decided to have a Sunday brunch with 2 of our friends. After waiting for an hour for the orders to come, we followed with the waitress and she responded that part of the orders are ready and part are not followed by “Do you expect me to bring part of it?” It was very weird and unnecessary rude. We said no and all can come together. After 20 minutes she brings only 2 of the orders in a plastic dish all cold, with a horrible attitude stating “told you they are not all ready”. I tried to explain we asked for all of them together and after 1hour and 20 minutes we expect an apology not an attitude. She got defensive and started shouting “don’t shout at me go talk to manager” !!!!
Should I go talk to your manager or should you get it for me???
Talking to manager was initially ok as he apologized for her behavior and defending her with “ her English is not that good she must have been misunderstood”
We were not offered anything but that.
We asked for the check and the same waitress literally throw the check at the table.
At this point we were shocked by this attitude and only wanted to het out of there.
We are never going to go back to this restaurant again.
Lovely service, lovely setting, food could be taken up a notch.
We arrived for our table but unfortunately had to go somewhere else as the DJ’s music was so loud we wouldn’t have been able to hear each other speak.
It was such a lovely experience! Food was great, outdoor street dining was incredible. Service was great, cocktails were great, etc!
I wish I remembered our server’s name. He was wonderful! The food was delicious, of course, that is no surprise :) Bijan’s is such an all around gem!
Great chicken stew with pomegranate sauce - cozy atmosphere with wood burning fire - friendly service!
Lovely, intimate restaurant. We received good attention from our server and the food was great. We cake at dinner and selected salmon and lemon chicken entree.
Lovely place! Great food and such a nice owner!
We ordered dips as an appetizer, server forgot. She was always hard to find. Yes, she was nice but just like flakey. On the bright side, she didn’t charge us for our drinks because she knew she sucked. So that’s nice. Won’t be back.
Funky decor that has some promise. Service friendly but very casual. Maybe understaffed but got the job done. No value in the food. We ordered the "stew of the day".....which is likely the "stew of the month or year". Described as Persian Beef Stew, there were only two very small bits of meat and an overly tangy gravy due to excess of dried limes. There were more dried Persian limes in my serving than there was beef. Served with some great basmati rice that was hot and well prepared. Nothing really recommends a return to Bijan's, but glad we gave it a try.
Came here for NYE dinner and had a fantastic time. Drink/Food special was great, the food was spectacular and the vibe was lovely. Definitely coming back.
Great ambience brunch expeoremce with a fireplace. Food was sub-par, especially conisdering the amount that was paid. Scrambled eggs were hard, fries were cold, and add ons were insufficient
Loved it. Just a bit dark
Bijans is one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Recently, its been more crowded than usual, so Saturday afternoon, around 5pm, when we decided we wanted to eat dinner there, I made a reservation for 8:45pm. When we showed up at 8:40, we were told that since we made the reservation so late in the day, they would not be able to accommodate us for another 30 minutes or so. This was extremely disappointing, and surprising. There were multiple time slots available throughout the evening according to open table, so to be unable to accommodate us at the time of our reservation was just poor planning on their part. It was extremely annoying -- we will be looking for a new regular spot after this experience.
Maybe the restaurant was having an off night, but after seating us with only one menu and three water glasses (there were four of us), they completely forgot about our table. After a half hour without anyone stopping by to ask about drinks or food, or anything at all, we left! And I don’t know that they noticed either.
Food was mediocre - salmon was dry and sad looking, stew was bland, and the pasta unsalted. The acoustics make it very loud despite not being that crowded, the tables near the door get hit with a draft when the door opens because there is no vestibule , and the service was terrible - the waiter was impossible to flag down even though they weren’t busy, spilled water and food on two members of our table and barely apologized, and never shared their name. Overall a really disappointing experience.
Service has really gone down here. And the flatbreads were horrible.
The wings were the best ever, a pi=nch sweet n spicey. We loved them . We enjoyed the lamb burger and kabobs. The crack soup was interesting and great.
Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great meal in a warm charming environment.
Great food. Friendly attentive staff! Had a wonderful time!
FYI this place is cash only, NOT open to all the payment methods listed here. Below average food and experience.
Delicious food, cute ambiance, friendly staff! The portions were a little small for the price, but I'd still go back.
Went to Bijan’s on the recommendation of a family member... there were 7 of us and our table was comfortable and the ambiance was great. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of our questions. The cocktails were unique and delicious and the food was exceptional! I would definitely return!
We booked a post-wedding Sunday brunch for 10 at 11am for the immediate family. We changed the number of people several times, and some of our guests didn't arrive until 11:45 (or possibly even later). At one point, one of our guests demanded that the server change the music. We were not an easy bunch of guests to deal with. But the team at Bijan made us feel welcome and were extremely flexible about accommodating our crew. They smiled the entire time and were very attentive. And then the food and drinks came. Both were delicious and it was amazing how much came out of the small kitchen so fast. The brunch special ($20 for meal and cocktail) is a great deal. Support this little gem, the people there deserve it!
Great food and service. A nice quiet (for downtown Brooklyn especially) spot, relaxed and charming.
Service was anything but warm. Food was good.
Just expected better
Food was great, but the waitress had an attitude.
Food was overcooked, beer was warm and skunked, service was lackluster and overall space was dirty and sticky
Really delicious food! Totally a locals spot. We loved it. A very hipster kind of place. Great drinks and great atmosphere!
Great food and nice atmosphere
My friend and I had a wonderful lunch this Saturday at Bijan. The food and cocktails were amazing (highly recommend the steak salad and the Ginger Margarita) and our server Teo was funny, friendly, and attentive.
I will definitely add this to my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn!
6 of us for dinner, arriving in 3 groups, very accommodating server, delicious cocktails, apps & dinners were great for our crowd, too full for dessert this time, but we'll be back!
Yummy Persian noodle soup and excellent service from Teo the bartender!
the main dish of the pappadelle was very tasty, but the appetizer of eggplant with walnuts really had no flavor, no spicing. they had to keep filling our water glasses. maybe leave a bottle of water on the table?
Service was extremely slow. Maybe there was a problem with the kitchen? We didn’t see any main courses come out for nearly an hour. Food was ok, not remarkable.
