Bighorn Bistro and Bar Ratings and Reviews
We had a party of six, we were seated on time, then things went down hill.
Waited 15+ min no waiter, had to hail the water girl asked for a waiter, he arrived only to apologize. Offered free appetizers, So so , the main entrees were cold and below average.
We think there has been a change in management, we will be sure to check reviews next time we consider this restaurant.
I never write reviews at the same time, this is the 2nd time we've been here and the service is laughable at best. We were seated 15 minutes later than our reservation. I then had to ask for a server after 20 minutes of not one waiter or waitress coming to our table. It took 20-30 minutes for our apps to arrive...then 15 minutes for 2nd round of drinks to arrive (1st round ordered at the bar while we waited for our table). Entrees arrived 30-40 minutes after our apps, a good 90 minutes after we first sat down. I complained to the waitress who said the entire bill would be comped and she would get the manager. I explained to the manager what happened who listened and apologized. The waitress brought the bill and it was 50% comped. After the bill was dropped off, the waitress nor the manager came back to the table nor could be found for that matter. In the winter of 2017, we came to the Bighorn and had similar experience with service. This will definitely be the last time we'll eat here, which is a shame because the food is decent.
We went to the Bighorn Bistro for New Years Eve dinner. We are a family of 5 with kids ages 13, 15 and 18. We had reservations and they sat us right on time after enjoying a glass of wine and the fireplace in the entry way. The food off the main menu was very good. We did order one item off the kids menu that had to be returned because the chicken was as tough as rawhide. They took care of getting a better meal and did not charge us for that one. Overall, a great place to eat and then walk out the door and watch the fireworks over Keystone lake.
We enjoyed the ambiance and food. The kids really enjoyed their experience and we appreciated the staff recognizing our birthday celebration. The only improvement we could note was to improve the temperature. We were very uncomfortable with how warm the heater was turned on and the host staff responded that it was beyond their control.
My family was very excited to eat there but once we seated, it took one hour before we were provided our meals and that's without ordering appetizers. I asked to get a kids penne pasta for my young son and that was the last meal delivered. Very disappointed when the restaurant wasn't even full. Will NOT be a repeat customer.
We wanted to sit in the large room with a view of the lake but were put in another room with no atmosphere. I ordered the salmon. There was so much heavy sauce you couldn’t see the salmon or vegetables on the plate. The salmon was overcooked.
The food was ok, not exceptional.
Honestly the best tasting thing about the meal was the free table bread and my sons kid menu burger and fries. Even though we ordered the special salmon, prime rib, steak, Caesar salad and clam chowder. The steak was overdone. The prime rib rare even though we asked for medium well. The ceased was salty. The clam chowder was just ok. For the price we were definitely expecting great food. The restaurant has a nice ambience, Christmas decor... definitely classy, but the food didn’t match. We had better tasting food at the pizza joint next door. Our waiter was nice enough but then wouldn’t come back for a long long time and we had to ask him multiple times for things like lemon for our water and butter for our bread Our family loves dessert but chose instead to go to the gift store across the street and buy some package ice-cream so we wouldn’t risk anymore expensive disappointment.
We’ve always gone to another Christmas buffet in Summit County but wanted to try something this year. We were not disappointed. It was a little more expensive but we could see why. The dessert bar was much more extravagant and well worth the difference in price. The turkey was the best we have ever had. I loved the yams as well. If I had any negative criticism at all, it would be regarding how they kept the bowls and trays full and the surrounding areas clean. A couple of the items were very low on food available and some were messy around the area. They did not seem to maintain the food tables as well as we were used to. But, all in all it was an exceptional dining experience.
I had read about Bighorn Bistro's holiday spread online, but nothing I read could prepare my family and I for the spread we had this Thanksgiving. The restaurant offered a holiday buffet with turkey, prime rib, pasta bar, as well as all the normal Thanksgiving traditional sides. They also had a full salad bar, cold bar full of cold cuts, cheese, peeled shrimp, crab claws and more.
Normally I'm weary of a holiday buffet, but everything was delicious! The turkey and prime rib were cooked perfectly. Not one bit of dry meat even with the turkey breast. The stuffing was amazing as was the mash potatoes they had created were amazing. My normally picky eating girls had seconds. When we finished stuffing ourselves with what the restaurant offered there was even more to choose from with desert. From traditional holiday pies, a variety of chocolate cakes, cheesecakes, bread pudding, and a chocolate fountain.
Service was outstanding and the wine was fairly priced by the bottle. All in all, we spent less as a family of four eating here than if we went to get our own turkey and sides. The family couldn't have been happier with the experience and I recommend checking this restaurant out especially for holiday dining.
This was our third Thanksgiving in a row at Bighorn Bistro. As always, the food was excellent and the dessert table a beautiful display of delicious sweets! My complaint is the lack of fresh vegetables for Thanksgiving - no green beans - no vegetable except broccoli - a disappointment. Also, each year the price appears to increase and $140 for two people with one glass of wine apiece seems pricey.
Went during off season in Keystone-very relaxed and enjoyable experience in a beautiful setting. Price was a little stretch for what we were hoping with not a lot of options, but the food we got was very delicious and worth it in the end for the whole experience. Loved the specialty butter and jam spread before dinner, but could have used a little more. Not a cheap date site or for a couple of buddies getting together, but for a real nice night with a lovely lady- my wife loved it! Lobster Mac & Cheese was very flavorful and had plenty of lobster.
The service was fantastic. It was what I would expect at the finest restaurant. And the food was well prepared and presented. They even had edible flowers on the scallops. But the taste was ripped asunder by the excessive salt. The coating of salt on the scallops burned my tongue. The asparagus might have been soaked overnight in brine. Ouch.
The restaurant offers lovely views of the mountains and the lake village at Keystone. My wife absolutely loved her filet mignon. The tuna poke appetizer was huge, beautiful, and delicious. And the service was friendly, helpful, professional and timely. Finally, for all that we received, the prices were very reasonable.
We were taking a luminary of my profession out to dinner. The starters were outstanding, including artichokes (messy, delicous) and flatbread. I have had dinner here a number of times, opted for the pork chop and found the start with it less than optimal, but otherwise entrees were well done. Excellent service. Well mixed drink. And a view that cannot be beat.
The restaurant is located in the Keystone Lodge building and looks out over Keystone Lake toward the Continental Divide. Get there as the sun is setting and you will be treated to an exceptional display of lighting and alpenglo colors reflected off the mountain slopes. Some evenings you will also be in prime position for evening firework displays (not during fire season, however). The food is well prepared and presentation is elegant. An adjacent bar hosts live music on occasion and the drinks are generously poured.
The food was to small for the price i pay.. more than 40$ for one tiny piece of meat? I was very disaponted... everything was going great till the gentleman bring the food.. you guys should make your food not bigger but acording to the price! Wich means yeah... bigger...
We enjoyed our date night while vacationing in Keystone. The views were beautiful especially with a table by the window looking out onto the lake. The food was good but nothing spectacular. The price was average for a higher end restaurant on resort. We spent almost $120 with alcoholic beverages and dessert. I am not sure I have to return but it was a good place for us to try once.
Planned a special dinner here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Pictures & menu sounded great online. Nice ambiance, terrible food. Paid over $115 for two which normally would be acceptable for a special occasion but the food was awful. Not what we expected & would not recommend. The bar attached to restaurant is nice.
After enjoying the varied and tasty charcuterie board and a delicious, full lobster/crab bisque, I had one of the three best restaurant steaks I've ever had (ribeye). It was not over-seasoned and was grilled to perfection. My wife also enjoyed the lobster macaroni and cheese and was unable to finish the generous portion. We enjoyed the setting of our private booth which allowed us to easily enjoy private conversation despite other couples and groups being in close proximity. We will definitely return on our next visit to Keystone.
From the Hostess greeting to the after dinner cocktails, the staff , food, and drinks were amazing! They went above and beyond to impress and helped make our friends weekend one to remember. Food was done to perfection! Even with some special requests thrown in. No complaints, rudeness or no we cant do that. Thank you everyone. Your hospitality is 5 stars, refreshing and appreciated.
