Good food and good service. However after about 9:30 PM the tables filled up with a twentysomething crowd who were drinking excessively and very boisterous. The women’s bathroom had one stall that was in operable due to a customer leaving behind in appropriate waste products. No staff seemed to be phased by this occurrence.

Food was amazing!!! I had the short ribs and the mash potatoes was simply wonderful. Eat slowly and savor every bite!!!!

Not terrible but not great either. The food was not correctly cooked. Service was a bit lacking but management was good. I hate to say this but the food runner had really bad BO. I don’t think we’ll be back soon.
Nice restaurant, the Chop sauce is amazing and although you don't see corn on the menu, ask for it as it's amazing!
We had previous excellent dining experiences. This one was not the best. We were seated in the bar area toward the end of happy hour and there was a ton of both customer and employee traffic. Our server was good, but not outstanding..not terribly sensitive to our desire to have a quiet dining spot. The steak that my husband had was excellent. My fish was just so so.. For the price..the service, food and ambiance should have been stellar

A delicious birthday dinner. Service was amazing, dinner was delicious, setting was perfect. Pre ordered the celebration cake and it was amazing. A perfect night.

The restaurant and bar area we’re extremely crowded likely because we were there at the end of happy hour.
The happy hour food quality was very marginal however the drinks elections were surprisingly good unfortunately our server seemed overwhelmed with the crowd and gave us a very poor attention

Took the wife for her birthday and No Lamb Chops very disappointed.
Hostess who sat us was not helpful at all. In a place that was fairly empty we requested another table as our table was wobbly and on an angle. She was fairly rude to us and didn’t care and basically said, “oh well”. Our server made it up with his service but the hostess really made my night irritable.

This was awesome - very happy I tried this and well worth the drive in. Not only is it a re purposed train station, the food is amazing. Have to try: steak bites appetizer with their signature sauce.

It was my first time at Big Rock and our waiter Dave was very friendly and knowledgeable. He offered to show us around the restaurant and told us the history of building being a train station. The food was really good and I liked the atmosphere. I’ve made it a goal to try every fancy steakhouse in the area and I only have a couple left. Big Rock is definitely one of my favorites and we will be back for sure.
I always wanted to check this place out, I found out I wasn't missing anything. I recommend passing this one by the area has so much more to offer.
Our waiter for us 2 was overbearing boardering obnoxious after my friend arrived. Overall he was condescending like he was doing us a favor by serving us. He ignored me 15 mins before he came over: I had ordered a brut Prosecco that turned out to be sugar water and I wanted if exchanged. As said took 15 mins for him to stop chatting with his colleague to see what I wanted.
The food was okay: the Cesar salad was ice cold (pre prepared stored in the fridge) and mediocre, the shrimp dish was good, the cheesecake dry.
Then to top it the waiter had the audacity to run the bill including a 20% gratuity without my permission! Rude
Our group meets once a month for lunch. Our visit to Big Rock was a big hit. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious especially the short ribs. The server was attentive. The room was warm and comfortable. We could not have asked for a better get-together and will be back.
I would like this review to be shared with the owner or manager. My husband and I went there for Birmingham Restaurant Week. They had a special menu for a great price. We went there for lunch which was a three course meal for $15. Once we sat down and the bus boy gave us water, he never spoke to us, but I saw him greet others that came in after us. The waiter, Todd, was passive aggressive didn't give us everything we were supposed to get with out Caesar salad without me having to ask twice. He even told me that what I had requested came only with the "regular" priced menu. I knew he was lying because I had that same exact meal before. He took our bread plate away and never asked us if we wanted more. I asked for a small box to take the remainder of my meal home, he never asked if he could box it up for me like I saw him do for others, and he came back with the biggest take out box ever. Then when he boxed our dessert he brought them in small boxes which would have been perfect for my "leftovers." Once he brought our bill, he told us that the gratuity was already included. So he walked passed our table four times before collecting our bill and then asked if we needed change. It would have only been about two dollars left, but we told him, "yes" because of his nasty attitude. I don't know if he was upset because of the price of the meal or if he just didn't want to serve us because we didn't look like him. His behavior made the experience very unsettling.
