I was there for my Birthday, Adam and the other server were very accommodating and amazing!! As a server whos passionate about customer service I was very impressed with them!! Glad we went when we did had it been this week it would have been canceled! Food amazing but thats a given!

It is one of my favorite restaurants in the Detroit area

Food was very good, albeit pretty pricey. We had 8 oz filet and scallops both at $40. Both dishes good, but came with no sides and I thought both were over priced. Our server, Dorothy, is a delight .

Ordered the chateaubriand special. The beef was cold and totally lacked any flavor. The waiter was pleasant but had a sinus issue which made it very uncomfortable for us to enjoy the evening with the current emphasis on avoiding people who may be sick. All in all, a very overpriced, unsatisfactory and disappointing evening. Definitely not one we'd like to repeat in the future.

I took my wife to BR to both celebrate her job promotion and some one on one time. This was my super bowl in regards to taking my wife somewhere grand and having a extravagant experience. When we pulled up to BR, my wife said, OH WOW, I didn't say anything, but I was screaming inside with with excitement. I knew I did great. We walked inside and were greeted by the hostess, who was very nice. We were led to our table, and the atmosphere was electric. It was alive and we were both drinking it in. The waitress was great throughout our dining time. We ordered the burgers with truffle fries, and that was great also. I use great alot, but our time really was. We ended our evening with me enjoying cigar in their lounge, and my wife enjoying a drink. My wife didn't know where I was taking her. I have passed BR for years driving by, and it was worth every penny and second. We're definitely coming back to BR. Best night ever. Thanks BR!

Great service from Mitchell. The meal overall was great, but the tuna tartare appetizer was bland, lacked flavor.

Made the reservation a day or two ahead of time. Seated at a two person booth in the bar on a direct line from the front door. Service was outstanding. Duck portion small after fat cut off. Scallops portion adequate. Both dinners unexceptional - this is a chop house - our mistake. Will make request for table in a more desirable spot next time and look to the chop side of the menu. Value debatable for a table in the bar with several TV's - like a sports bar ........ anticipated a table in a restaurant, not in a bar. Overpriced for what we experienced - and looking at the Chop side of the menu may be still overpriced, even if all the seating issues were corrected.

We made a reservation for 5:30PM and we were put it the train car room. The booth we had was round and right next to the waiter station. We were the only table in the room during most of our dinner yet we were sat right next to the waiter station. During our visit, numerous wait staff congregated next to the station to chat and look on their phones, our waitress included. It was disappointing for us to go to a nice restaurant and experience this. I would expect this behavior from a diner but I would not expect it from a restaurant in which I pay $200+ for a dinner for two. We both ordered the filet which was excellent. However, our sides of cauliflower and risotto were not. At no point were we asked if we were celebrating anything special and the entire experience was disappointing. There are many steak houses in the area to chose from and I won’t be choosing Big Rock in the future.

50th Birthday

Great service in a relaxed and fun environment.

Food was excellent. Good value during Restaurant week. Adam, our server, was very efficient and responded to all our needs. Music was a little loud.

We were greeted immediately upon entering and the hostess escorted us to our booth as requested. We were warmly greeted by our waiter who was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We were able to hear and enjoy the conversation at our table in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu was varied and pleasing to everyone in our group. All in all it was a most enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing. The food was so good and you can tell the ingredients were amazingly fresh. The waitstaff, beautiful and the atmosphere, Soothing.

Dined during Birmingham Restaurant Week - mushroom bisque soup was outstanding - we both had the salmon entree - is was just OK / biggest problem is that it was lukewarm

Meals were outstanding, we went for restaurant week and 2 of us ordered from the special menu. The sea bass was awesome!! Portions were generous and we had to take dessert home. The tuxedo cake dessert was divine and beautiful too! We will be back!!

Always a good time

My husband and I ordered the Maple leaf farm duck and the surf and turf. We've never had a better meal in our lives. Very item and seasoning made the farm duck off the charts. The filet was cooked medium and couldn't have been better. Everything was moith watering great!

Dorothy was an awesome server! All we had to do was eat.

Our waitress Mary was so nice and patient for our large party that included 4 children. The calamari was excellent. There were complements to the chef all around the table,

Great night great service

Waiter started off aloof and not interested. Had to ask him if they had any specials (this is a Friday night). But he cane around and was attentive the last half of the meal experience. Food was fabulous. Service has always be the best and very professional.

Our waiter forgot about us after he took our order. Not the service you’d expect at a high end restaurant. Luckily the rest of the staff made up for his poor service.

Nice birthday dinner for 4. The setting was great. Many options for smaller plates or a full sized meal. Everyone loved their food choice. The happy hour is very good here too.

Parking lot too full. Restaurant too full and busy. Orders came to the table wrong. Steaks ordered were wrong and over cooked. Steaks were tough to chew. WAY too expensive for ala carte everything!! Waiter was nice but non apologetic about mistakes and did not try to make things better. NEVER got bread basket. Had to ask for drink refills.

Our reservation was for 11:30, as soon as the restaurant opened, so we had excellent service and attention. Our server was very good and the food was delicious.

Great service! Even better food! Very clean and people are very friendly. Drove my wife an hour just to eat here. Very very thankful for Open Table otherwise I don’t think we would’ve ended up here. Reservations went so simply and we were seated exactly at our time when we arrived

Dinner was fabulous! Service and food were impeccable. Parking is limited to valet, unless you find street parking a block away.

We went here for our 7th anniversary together and couldn’t be happier with our choice! The service was great and the food was even more fantastic! Great portions left feeling full and satisfied! Recommend the filet or New York strip, and the crab cakes were so tasty! Truly made our night so much more special!
