Big Ridge Brewing Co. Ratings and Reviews
Despite reserving for a special occasion that information either did not make it to the server or they do not recognize events and nothing was said about it. Due to construction near the restaurant parking is extremely limited. Gain extra value with their Wok Wed special.
As a long time, usually most satisfied customer and used to the Sunday night rush for pizza and beer specials, I was most disappointed in the entire evening. It started with me reserving a booth three days in advance, arriving to find that although there were booths opening up we were not able to sit at one and the young host (male) was non apologetic and quite rude when I questioned why. Then the waitress arrived who was quite ill, coughing into her hands and elbow and we were almost ready to leave for that alone. She was quite nice and apologetic but a good manager would have sent her home as customers are easily exposed. It was a full on cough and sneezing evening for her. Then we had to wait for our beer as the glasses weren't washed yet and the pizza was a 40 minute wait from when we ordered!! This to me is unacceptable as this restaurant has been in business for over 20 years and well knows that Sunday evenings are busy. Buy more glasses? Bigger pizza oven? As said, I have frequented this restaurant for many years and usually am content with the service and food. I am also not a complainer and quite a calm person in general but this get together with friends we had not seen in a while and to whom we'd recommended Big Ridge was not acceptable. Will make me think again before frequenting or recommending.
The menu is a bit unique - from asian fusion, pulled pork, burgers and pizza. We had the green beans to start (recommend). I had a salmon bowl (glaze was a bit sweet) and my SO had the butter chicken.
Craft beer made in house and on tap. Some interesting mixed drinks however the menu for drinks is not very large.
Dessert consists of 3 items.
A great menu lots of selection. Food prepared very good and arrived with not much of a wait. Server was very warm and friendly. Craft beer tasted extremely good! This was are second time here and was just as good as the first time . Would highly recommend this Brew Pub, great food and beer at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back!
It took an hour for our food to arrive and two of six dinners were hot, while other four were lukewarm. We had a couple with an infant with us who had to get their dinners to go because it took so long they needed to leave with baby. We've been here before and service was fine.
I'd never been there before although I've driven past it many many times. Took a client there for lunch on a Thursday - good service and decent food. It was pretty slow there that day so not sure how it would be if the place was rocking.
I'll go back for sure.
The last time my family and I were at Big Ridge, we were very disappointed in the service levels. This time, same thing again. We were mostly ignored through out the dinner. It took time to take our drink order, it took time to get our drinks here and there wasn't even an opportunity to order another round of drinks. The food was dropped off by runners and by the time our waitress resurfaced, we had finished eating and just wanted to get our food packaged up and pay our bill. This also took some time to get done. The last time this happened, about four or five months ago, I went to the bother of sending an e-mail to the restaurant management. They apologized and said that they knew what server it was that gave us the poor service. In the end, I guess we were the foolish ones to give the place a second chance. Too bad as I really like the menu and the ambiance of the restaurant.
This has been a go to for us for many years. Sadly, it had gone a bit downhill. It is definitely not as clean as it should be and the service on the pub side was very poor. The food portions and quality also seem to have diminished. I will go back but not on such a regular basis.
Excellent service, good food. Music a little loud to visit without talking loudly. Could have been the restaurant was busy and that noise added to the volume level.
I like a cold, crisp lager and Big Ridge brews an awesome lager. For months, I have always requested a chilled mug, and there was never one chilled. FINALLY! A chilled beer mug was available!
First off, the service was great but that's about where it ended. Had to return my drink as the bartender apparently couldn't take directions. Food was mediocre at best and we might as well have gone to "Chuck-E-Cheeze" with all the kiddies and the noise. Had reservations which were dealt with quickly and pleasantly but will not return.
Great atmosphere, we ordered the pulled pork sliders as a starter and were wishing we ordered the pulled pork burger as our main - they were fantastic! Mango chicken salad was delicious and a huge bowl, I had to take half home. Mac and cheese was a hit too.
My husband and I always love coming to Big Ridge. We love the food and the service. It's always consistently good. We have never been disappointed when we come. This time we came with our son and his fiance and, once again, everything was great. Except, my son asked for some hot sauce to put on his pizza and we were charged 50 cents for this. I know this is such a little thing but it is one of my biggest pet peeves. You put ketchup on the plate when fries are ordered without being asked. How much of that do you waste? When someone actually wants a condiment, you charge for it. It's not about the money, but surely there's a better way. Is it worth the 50 cents to your restaurant? Probably not, but it left me with a negative feeling for you guys, and I hate that I have that now. Just my two cents, for what it's worth.
