   They are very slow to seat people when they open. And are not very good at dealing with an opening rush, where multiple groups arrive simultaneously. Took a while to get our order taken, and even longer to get our food. Still worth the inconvenience. Maybe it's a southern thing? Otherwise, a wonderful experience every time.

   Service issues the last two times I've been here for brunch. First visit received wrong omelet. I kept thinking rhe bacon would eventually turn up in the next bite. It didn't. On most recent visit order was lost by kitchen. Tables on both sides of us that arrived at least 15 minutes after us received their orders before us.

   The back room is an ideal spot for carrying on a legible conversation (small dinner meeting in our case). Our waitress was respectful of the discussion and only "interrupted" at appropriate times. Everyone enjoyed their meal (the shrimp in my shrimp n grits tasted incredibly fresh!). Another example of great service was when the waitress brought one of our dinner companions a plate of bread, jam, and butter to hold him over because the entree would come out later than the rest of ours. Must come back for brunch!

   very good food. distinctive. a little too noisy for me but the energy level is fun. service could have been better (faster).

   We were referred to this restaurant by friends that live in the neighborhood as a Southern/New Orleans type restaurant. The appetizer that was recommended, the various pickles was just okay and came with 4 small slices of bread. It was not really shareable for 4 people. The other appetizers were rather strange and again, not very shareable. They were out of a couple of beers that had been promoted and the wine list was not very extensive by the glass and the waiter was not very knowledgeable about wine. 3 of us had the catfish and it was well cooked but sitting on some bland grits with beans - I added hot sauce to it. Someone else had the duck and it was fatty and someone else had the pork and said it was okay. I was disappointed because people had raved about the restaurant on-line. We did have a table in the back and I would say ask for that if you want a modest noise level. The whole evening felt rushed.

   We celebrated a daughter-in-law’s birthday with six adults, one six-year old, and had a great time — though we did have to shout to be heard :) Food was excellent and no doubt fairly authentic New Orleans cuisine, but a few of us couldn’t do the southern cooking too often or we’d waddling down the sidewalk. We had the crabmeat in a popover with Bernaise sauce, which was to die for on many fronts :) Our six-year-old ordered an adult-sized French toast with more whipped cream than may be seen in a clown show—and ate it all.

    We had a great brunch. Service was excellent, very attentive but not overbearing. Our meals were delicious, huge portions but very high quality.
