Big Fish Grill-Issaquah
The menu selection was good. I don't think any dish on the menu would be bad. My young grandchildren gave it a thumbs up. My omelette was delicious. We will go there again.
Our experience was not great. It seemed like the staff was new or didn’t quite know what was going on, not ideal for a Mother’s Day brunch which I can assume is a busy day. The menus were already in the table but when we were getting seated the host tried to grab menus and the manager scolded her in front of us which was awkward. There was a special fruit and pastry table for Mother’s Day that we had to ask about because the waiter forgot to tell us. The beignets, which we were very excited to try, came out plain like they had missed the powdered sugar in them, not great and the waiter didn’t give us any plates. They didn’t bring us what was ordered, the waiter made a comment on how I ate my food which made me very uncomfortable, the restaurant was dark for being 11 am and it seemed they were trying to get people in and out as fast as possible we were only there for 30 minutes.. all in all we left and it definitely ruined our Mother’s Day. Safe to say we will not be going back.
If you're looking for run of the mill, this is your place. Ingredient quality is why I gave this an average rating. It was just...fine. I had the battered salmon and fries and it was greasy and very over cooked. Coleslaw was probably out of a bag. The friend that I ate with loved it but she's an Olive Garden kind of person. Again, fine.
We had hoped to be able to order some happy hour items and a drink. We we told the happy hour prices were only available in the bar. This was not mentioned in any of the advance information.
Our dinners were very nice, service was good .
We had a great Anniversary lunch at Big Fish in Issaquah. A very pleasant time.
It was very cold in the restaurant, and when my husband mentioned it to the waiter he was told he had a coat to put it on...WHAT!!!! The food was excellent but the waiter thing just put a damper on the evening!! We did not order appetizers, wine or dessert, we just ate and left!!
We rarely get to Issaquah, but we were meeting friends there for dinner. We chose the Big Fish Grill because it had good online reviews and happily it lives up to them. The food was good, nothing too fancy but very well prepared. Our charming waiter was from Romania and the final bill was more than reasonable. Everyone had a great time and we talked about making this a regular place to meet up.
We took our grandson to dinner after a movie next door. He ordered the kids chicken strips and fries which were delivered very quickly. However the chicken part of the meal was very, very skimpy. I had a glass of wine at $13 which was a bit outrageous, although I could of had a cheaper glass but opted for one that I knew was at least decent. I also had the chicken Marsala which was good, but a huge portion. My husband had chicken piccata, which he said was very good. Overall, it was a good meal, excellent service, but really pricey for the quality.
Not impressed with the service it was ok and prompt but not warm or welcoming. Would not recommend it for special occasions.
We ate in the bar - it was great food & service and able to watch the game on TV
After an unpleasant first visit about a month ago, we and our friends decided to give Big Fish Grill-Issaquah another try. The first visit: One person in our party called 15 minutes prior to arriving to make a reservation and the female manager told us that they had NO tables available in 15 minutes and it would be an hour and a half wait. So, a different person in our party Googled Big Fish Grill and made a reservation for 15 minutes. When we arrived (quite early and ahead of the dinner rush), the place was nearly empty and had several available tables able to accommoade our party. When we were ready to order, the male waitor was rude and seemed annoyed to be serving our party of 6+baby as guests. Near the end of our meal, I ordered a drink and it was a good 20 minutes, if not more, before I received said drink. The second visit: We originally made a reservation for 4+baby online for 5:30. Not even 20 minutes later, we needed to amend that time to 5. When I called, the male who answered the phone seemed annoyed that I needed to amend the time. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer...they were quite mushy and had little to no flavor. I ordered the pesto seafood pasta...the pasta was quite undercooked which resulted in chewy noodles while the prawns were overcooked which resulted in tough and dry shrimp. But the thing that really made me angry was at the end of our meal regarding the family that had been seated next to us. They had parked their stroller with baby inside on one side of the table, completely out of the way, and they were already skimming the menu. A male approached them and told them that he could park their stroller somewhere else and get them a high chair. The two parents seemed apprehensive and yet the next thing to take place was the female manager coersing them into it. The baby was much to young to be forced into a high chair! I get trying to have a certain image/atmosphere, but being rude and manipulative is unecessary. Will NOT recommend!
Celebrating a birthday and went for brunch. Staff were attentive and food was great!
You are not known to be a steak house but the Ribeye steak that I had was evcellent as good as it better than any steak house. Only negative was the asparagus. Not worth the added $2. Halibut fish and chips was excellent Your coleslaw is and always has been the best.
This has the best Cobb salad in Seattle Metro area. Unfortunately they have little to nothing for vegetarian or vegan guests. I had made reservations online requesting vegan offerings. At the restaurant my guest was offered French fries and cauliflower as a vegan meal. Was unsure if the fries were cooked in vegetable oil.
Many other restaurants have vegan offerings (Schwartz Bros.) so that is where I will go when my guests want vegan or vegetarian
Wonderful Valentine's evening with delicious dishes. It's a shame the special Valentine's menu, with its half-dozen oysters, ceviche, lobster tail, steak and other straightforward fresh grilled/baked/steamed/fried dishes aren't available on the main menu which looks to be straight out of the late '80s. Everything is crusted, pankoe'd, breaded, stuffed and sauced. Most of the wines on the list are by the bottle (like, all but three). And while the bottle prices are reasonable, if you're looking for variety by the glass, you'll have no luck here.
The food was delicious, and everyone was really nice, but our server clearly wasn't up to the evening. He barely interacted, was slow (during a barely populated early evening non-rush), and despite asking him for coffee *four* times at the end of the meal, never received it. And he never said "bye," "thank you," "have a good evening" or "Happy Valentine's Day." Considering we'd just gotten dug out of the snow, it was fairly amazing we were able to attend at all.
Tasty food, beautiful space, friendly staff. But if you're looking for clean, contemporary dishes, you'll have to look elsewhere.
We had a great meal celebrating Valentine's Day.
The manager was on top of everything and made sure we had excellent service
Big Fish in Issaquah is my absolute go-to for any special occasion or treat-myself meal. The menu is varied and always has exciting specials. The staff are impeccable with their customer service! I've never been disappointed and have consistently been surprised with how above and beyond all team members go for their patrons. If I need to treat a client, celebrate my anniversary or birthday, or plan a special goodbye lunch for a visiting or deploying family member, I can always count on Big Fish in Issaquah!
Fantastic evening. Loved the artichoke spinach dip, pan fried oysters, halibut tacos, salmon bacon lettuce tomato sandwich, and marion berry cobbler.
Food was not worth for the price. Did not taste the food at all .
Scallops undercooked. Risotto over cooked. Crab cakes were amazing. Salmon stuffed with Brie was good. Service was stellar.
Disappointing meal and lack of service. My Salmon BLT was terrible -- overcooked, dry salmon with only one slice of bacon. Will not be back.
Never been to this location before and will definitely go back! Food was great and pricing was completely in line. The bartender was AMAZING! She was on the ball so much so that when a booth opened we asked to remain in the bar area as we had reservations for the dining room (which was very busy being New Years Eve at a tad bit on the noisy side but understandable for the time-frame. It was a great evening - no complaints here! And again a shout out to the lovely bartender!!! Thank you for making us feel welcome!
We went on New Year’s Eve, expectIng the restaurant to be busy. It was unfortunate that you were out of the lobster dinner by 6:00. If you don’t have enough for your patrons maybe you shouldn’t offer it. However, the crab cakes, halibut and salmon taco were delicious. The waiter was a little distracted, which was somewhat understandable on a very busy night.
We went for our anniversary (which I told them it was and I wanted a window seat when I called). The host tried to sit us at a small two seater table away from the window. Our waitress was busy and a manager took our order. The waitress talked to us twice. I wasn’t expecting anything for our anniversary but it would be a nice touch for them to have at least recognized that it was since I told them on the Open Table reservation site.
The food was good. The beer was warm.
Not sure when we will go back. Maybe after some time.
Great service and food.
Scallops and risotto was terrific as was my guests Cobb salad and steamer clams. Had lots of gluten free options which is great. Took off points because it’s too bright. I’m having dinner in a restaurant not a diner. And it was cold. We were seated by the fireplace and it was off most of the time. It was really cold.
Average food with great service and ambiance.
Excellent dessert and service!
Excellent food and service. Never been disappointed.
Very good service and very good good! Always reliable!
Second time there, very disappointed compared to the first time.
Great value for good quality seafood.
I love Big Fish in Issaquah Food consistently good.
We have had issues with some wait staff being inpatient and unfriendly. Both waiters Waitesesses not so much.
We still go back in spite.
The menu looked pretty good, but the food was actually just OK and seemed overpriced. Probably won’t go back.
Good service and very fresh oysters and salmon and nice garlicky Caesar salad!
We like the food. Apple crisp is too sweet for me. Wish they have more choices for desserts
We love their jambalaya and paella and order most of the time we go there.
Pleasantly surprised how good the seafood was and we are very particular with our seafood. Great service too.
I took my mom here for her birthday last week and we had an amazing time. Our waitress was extremely friendly but not overbearing. Mom got the Wagyu steak off of their specials sheet and it was outstanding! Definitely a great meal with exceptional service. Highly suggest to all.
the crab cakes were very bread crumby . not much crab.
