Big Fin Seafood Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Been to Big Fin many times when in Orlando, every other time we were here our experience was good but this visit left much to be desired. Asked for a quite table and got a booth on the main walkway, the waiter acted like he didn’t want to be there and didn’t care, the food was good but the coffee we ordered tasted like bitter dishwater. Overall quite disappointed. When I tried to tell the waiter the coffee was horrible he acted like he didn’t hear me and walked away.
Always great and fresh seafood. I highly recommend the gator and escargot stuffed mushroom apps, if you're into that. I was here for a convention and had personnel from our partners the NY Jets dine with us. Big Fin kindly welcomed them with a sign that had the Jets logo. This was a thoughtful touch that goes a long way. Cheers!
Took My clients there for a Dinner after the ISB show. They wanted to Go to Eddie V's but we could not get in. They were very glad we could not get in the place they wanted to go. We found a new place for us to have business meals while I am in town, and i will be taking my wife there when we are just looking for a great place to eat when visiting.
I traveled from Philadelphia to Orlando for my friends bachelorette weekend. I decided to pick this place based on the high rating from Open Table and Yelp. I was very surprised that they did not live up to the high star rating in my eyes. The restaurant is designed very beautifully and very clean however the service sucks. We had 3 waiters in a 30 minute time span. We had the entire kitchen come out and look at our table and didn’t say a word. Needless to say my experience was very disappointing and I would never come back.
Previous experience was better. This night with a relatively empty restaurant, the service was inattentive. We had to re-confirm our order a few times and the order was still wrong when it arrived at the table. Not the freshest oysters. With the understanding that eating raw seafood is a risk, it was still surprising that for a seafood restaurant, a couple of obvious foul smelling oysters actually made it to our table (they did credit the 2 oysters). Fortunately, no one ate them and did not get sick. Disappointing meal. With so many other seafood restaurants in the area, it would be difficult to recommend Big Fin.
We ate here before during Magical dining and had a great experience. We were back in town for my birthday and decided to see if it was as good as we remembered. We were not disappointed. The service was good, the food was delicious. The chef sent out a few lightly breaded tiny shrimp as an amuse-bouche, a very nice start. We ordered the James River oysters and they were heaven in the mouth. I ordered the 8 oz lobster tail and it was succulent. The potato cake was superb. my husband ordered the seafood pasta Fra Diavolo. It had lots of shellfish in it and was just spicy enough to be delicious. The ooey gooey cake for dessert was divine.
Another great experience at Big Fin! The food and service are always exceptional! Our Server, Mo, was very knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He provided great information to assist us with menu selections. The food was very good as well. the Manager Josh took good care of us as well. We always look forward to visiting Big Fin!
It was so cold that we asked to move tables. It was only 58 outside, yet they had the air cranking. They turned off the air conditioning which helped, but about half way through our meal it was turned back on. The service was great, but the food was only mediocre. My steak was ok, but for the same price we could have gone to a nice steakhouse. My dining companions had seared tuna and shrimp, and neither was impressed. We will skip this place in the future.
Disappointed! Possibly because of New Years Eve, but the restaurant did not appear to be capable of keeping up with the crowd. One dinner (Sea Scollops were barley warm when served, and a second dinner that described a combination of Shrimp, scollops, and crab cake did not include the scollops. We have dined with this chef on several occasions at other locations and the meals were always outstanding, this one did not continue the experience.
Excellent! Always some of the freshest and best Seafood I have ever had. Creative presentation on deserts and some of the dinner options. The Stone Crabs, when in season, are the largest I have seen. The hardest part is deciding what to have. I recommend the Crab Stuffed Grouper and the tuna (preparation changes) yet family members have all had excellent meals.
The atmosphere is light and fun some people are dressed up and others business casual.
The service is always perfect. Attentive yet not intrusive.
We go for any occasion we can find and this is the place my son wants to go first when he gets back from college.
To be fair we went on Christmas night. That being said the place was ridiculously overbooked and the service was horrible. The food was fair and I don’t see any reason to go back.
After waiting over and hour for our food the manager offered us 10% off the bill. Big whoop.
Hostess was rude. The server was ok but the service was awful. The food was way overpriced for above average food. The food took way too long to come out. I know it was Christmas but it shouldn’t take an hour and half to get our food.
If not for out waiter, Grant, the night would have been a total disaster. Starting with the fact that they overbooked, we waited about an hour for out appetizers (2 salads) and then another hour for out meal. When we spoke to the manager, his excuse was that this is their first Christmas open. This restaurant has been around for years; if they don't know how go work a Christmas, they should consult with someone who does. There also was no consistency. Most tables were waiting like us and we heard other servers apologizing, but then we watched the table next to us who came in well after we ordered get their meal timely and before us.
The food is very good and Grant was excellent, but the experience was extremely disappointing and I don't think we will be back.
Arrived to a full reception area. Hostess responded to our 7pm reservation with a dismissive "we'll seat you when we can". Manager was completely non-responsive. Seated at 8 for our 7pm reservation. kitchen was backed up and food arrived after an hour and a half wait. No explanation or apology from the manager. We were offered free coffee and dessert, neither of which we wanted. This is a place living on their laurels and cocky beyond belief. I've never seen a place so dismissive of its customers!
Big Fin is my husband favorite restaurant since we moved here 5 years ago, so I made a reservation for Christmas Dinner. When we arrived the place was packed. Many had reservations, but others were waiting. We waited about 5 minutes and were seated. Our waitress reviewed the Christmas specials and took our drink order. By the time she got back with our drinks we placed our order. I was hesitant to order the swordfish, which is our favorite entree because it usually takes 30-35 minutes, but the last time I ordered it on a busy night it took close to an hour and held everyone's food at the table. The waitress said, that she would be on top of it and I'm glad we ordered it. It was amazing!
