Big Easy Covent Garden
We proudly offer a large slice of easy going living, inspired by the Gulf Coast, with live bands 7 nights week, a friendly welcoming atmosphere, fresh cocktails, ice cold beers and generous portions of
good old home-style cooking offering Home-Smoked BBQ & Fresh East Lobsters.
Fast forward to today and we continue to uphold those time-honoured traditions; social occasions of the bygone age, friends getting together over great fresh food, plentiful drinks and music - these never go out of fashion.
I had my birthday dinner here we all loved the food and the drinks was nice too. I got 3 ice cream tubs with a candle in each one that was so nice of them. Will eat here again.
Initially had to wait 35minutes before being seated despite being booked.
I liked this place a lot. But if you need quiety, this is not your place. If not, this is, because it has live music. In addition, I liked the food, although I would add some more things to the menu.
Service was terrible and the waitress was very rude. Food wasn’t great and there was a lot of waiting around
Very busy and noisy, but good food and service, and perfect for younger people!
Food was good as always has been in my experience. Table service was a little slow.
I would highly recommend having am electronic buzzer system for diners waiting at the bar for tables. We had arrived a little early for our booking so we're told to check back at our booked time to see if the table was ready, to which we then found out it had been ready a while!
It was a bit too hot in there as there were many people and the BBQ but rest everything was great.
We had a bit of a situation with our food but the Manager was kind enough to offer wine for two us on the house as gesture
i normally love this restaurant, but the food was luke warm and not the normal standard. we had the table for 2 hours but were rushed and it didnt need to be.
Good food and good service despite the fact it was very busy. Some of our party opted for the boozy brunch and others the main menu and everyone was happy with their food. Good amount of food available for the bottomless and the mojitos were amazing!
Good atmosphere though tables well packed in.
Nice house wine though listed under sparkling / champagne as a frizzante and it was certainly not proper sparkling wine. Bit misleading. Prosecco is apparently available but was not on the drinks menu.
Toilets were horrendous. One leaked, one no loo roll, one full of you know what and generally in poor condition really let the place down.
We had the boozy brunch. It was great value for money. The food was fantastic and the bbq but was bottomless as well so can eat as much as you like. The service was a little slow at times but that was to be expected really as they were so busy. But a lovely place and I will definitely return. THANKS BIG EASY!!! :)
Food took nearly an hour. Got drink order wrong twice. Staff unhelpful
Excellent food! Unfortunately slow inattentive service (could be different if you're a smaller group, there was 8 of us). We were seated at 7:45 and drink orders were not taken until 8:25 (this is after we had asked several times. We were told the table had to be 'handed back' at 9:15, this was annoying given the slow service. We skipped having a started because of this. We were served a pitcher with broken glass, there was no apology and the waiter didn't seem to notice (or care). Food was great, but won't be back as the service was so bad. Could be better on a less busy day, it was a Friday night.
You can only order happy hour drinks from the bar even if you have a table booking which is a bit of a pain. But for £3.50 for a glass of Prosecco, it’s worth queuing up!
The lobster is amazing but the walnut crackers made it difficult to get the meat out. We also had cheesy chips and sweet potato fries which were good.
The bar area gets very over crowded and it’s difficult to get through from one side to the other and find a space if you need to. The ambience is great and it’s very busy in the evenings.
Over all the food is so good, especially the lobster, and it’s good value too.
Fab time, great food. Huge portions, very enjoyable.
Great tasty food . Lunch time deal is definitely good value for money.
Ordered off the lunch menu but charged full price, £60 rather than £20....
I don’t mind paying the going rate for quality and service but when the bill is nearly £200 for 3 minuscule starters, 4 average burgers and cocktails full of ice I am not happy. Also waited an age to be served and for the food to come. Watch out for the small print too although the Big Easy website says its ‘happy hour’ until 7 this is only at the bar. Didn’t have time to complain as we were running late for the theatre and we were there with my niece to celebrate her 18th so didn’t want to embarrass her. I wouldn’t bother coming here unless you want very average chain restaurant food and are happy to pay a premium for it.
Lovely decoration however was very dark so was unable to read menus , very loud so couldn’t hear each other speak even when right next to each other , service was quite poor felt neglected took ages to just get a drink order and then once the order was taken it was 20 minutes before we received the drinks and took an hour for our mains to arrive however despite this it was busy so may have come at a bad time
Service is not good, had to ask server to take order, waiting she’s got mains and sides missing and arrived too late for mains. Food was tasty but not hot. Service charge 12.5% added to bill could be missed as added to total but not compulsory, meaning you could end up tipping twice if not noticed. We were put on table in front of band and noise was unbareable, moved upstairs but still very loud.
We attended to celebrate a family 21st birthday, our first visit to the chain. We were sat in the basement right next to the stage with live music. The music was fine, far better than the loud piped music that it interrupted; however, sitting 2 yards from the singer/pianist with him facing you as you eat your steak is a little off putting. With the acoustics and volume of persons the noise was loud, so much that we couldn’t hear all that the waiting staff were saying.
We ordered our drinks which must have been prepared in another building despite there being a bar in the cellar. We waited a ridiculous time for these drinks to arrive. Food, when it arrived is pretty basic. We were offered two other meals which we didn’t order by waiting staff we had yet seen but who didn’t appear pleased or bothered to be there. I had a steak which arrived on a plate so full of grease and fat that I ended up wearing several splashes down my shirt. Far better places to eat with better atmosphere and better value. One to avoid.
Great food, sometimes slow to get waitress service. Is very noisy in there so not easy to have a sensible level of chatting.
Greeted by by Christian name (too informal) and a shouted ... “YOU ONKY HAVE THIS TABLE FOR 90 MINUTES”
Food ok value but poor quality. We won’t be returning.
Good good good, bit slow on the service but overall good.
Great spot for good value food and drinks. Lobster roll was amazing. Only downside was that restaurant marked us as a no show with open table when we had been there!
Friendly staff who moved us to a different table when I asked to be moved
Good and staff are good but it’s just way too noisy. I used to visit a lot but it just getting worse, all my friends complain that we have to shout to each other in order to “talk”. I don’t think I would come back anymore, especially the menu is changed.
Good food as always
Really disappointed, food was average at best, sat us downstairs, we were the only table down there, no atmosphere whatsoever.
Will not be returning sadly.....overrated!!
Great as ever......
Great food, good service. Good variety for the pre-show meal and good value for money.
Waiting a while for drinks menu asked to change table as was at top of stairs with people edging past, was told no other tables available then watched as two other couples were seated separately on a table for ten
Then again long wait to order dessert
And even longer to pay bill .
Food was lovely but the service lacking . Once we had our food it was like we were not even there. We had to keep getting someone attention
The building itself was nice but the toilets were nasty no soap and two toilets were blocked while one was leaking .
Can’t fault the food and the feel of the place. Got the feeling the staff were tired though (we had a later booking) so were not particularly attentive. Wrong drinks order at first, had to remind for cutlery and then again for the side orders. But the team were still friendly apologetic and were quick to resolve everything. Good overall! Still love this place as been a couple of times before.
Great food good service lively atmosphere and great selection of food and drinks
In Big Easy they give you a table for 2hrs. When it reach 2hrs they tell you to leave. I enjoyed the food however when it reach 2hrs they waitress told us we have reach our limit and we need to hurry up because we need the table back. I'm was really disappointed. I don't believe they should treat anyone in that manner. I have been to other Big Easy restaurants in london and they have never treated me like that. I'm really disappointed in Big Easy Covert Garden
Bit of a mixed bag, all in all. On the food front, some of our dishes (looking at you, lobster) were cold as if they had been hanging around while the kitchen cooked the rest of the order. The calamari was undercooked and soggy, there was a general feeling that portions were being kept to a small size. The initial welcome from FOH was frosty, although our waiter was top-notch.
The "background" music was far too loud to count as background - and every single song was basically the same blues-rock cliché.
Valentines dinner with my husband then to theatre food was amazing 100% will be going back ..... great staff... everything was fantastic.... would recommend 100%
Great food, great atmosphere, great beer and cocktails, great everything. 10/10
50th birthday celebration dinner
