Big Bowl - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
We made a reservation for 5:45 but didn’t get seated until after 6. Our entrees came before our appetizer. We ordered dumplings which looked more like boiled pot stickers. My husband had the pad Thai and I had the stir fry bar. The entrees were tasty. The dumplings were too but they were cold. The waitress didn’t charge us for them. She was less attentive then I would have liked. We would eat there again and hope for better service.
everything was good I just wish you start having separate fryer for vegetarian food because lots of my friends stop coming because of that we all like fry and crispy tofu and things like that since you don't have separte fryer so the tofu is raw . so thats the only problem. if you offer more vegitarian dishes you would gain so much more traffic from Indian community. I know lots of my friends stop going to big bowl... If you could bring coconut ice-cream back that will be also nice.
Thoroughly enjoyed my business lunch at this location. I met up with a prospective client there, and the food and service were both excellent. There was a small issue with his order but aside from that all went well. This is my go-to spot for business lunches in the Schaumburg area, and will remain so.
I've never been to a Big Bowl before, and while I thought that the food was good, I also need to keep in mind that since I did the stir fry bar, that I basically made my own food and they just added the sauce and meat of my choice. So good job to me. Frankly, Flattop is better for this experience, but for whatever reason most of those are gone now. What made this dinner good was the waiter, Jorge. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I would tell someone to go there just for the level of service at a place where frankly, the wait staff are not making a ton in tips. Good job hiring quality people Big Bowl.
Food and beer were excellent and healthy. My wife loves your salmon. Servers are friendly. It is good to make reservations to get a booth. I like the fried rice and many other dishes. We have been coming to your restaurant for many years. Keep coming with your specials.
This is my favorite restaurant. However the server on the day of our dinner, as well as the food spoiled our perfect day. The server was grumpy, forgetting almost everything we asked for and was mean to other tables surrounding us. She asked a lady at a table near us to get up go and talk to the manager if she has any issues, another table, she slammed birthday dessert and told them that she does not sing. To us she was better than that comparatively, I should say. She needs training and may be she hates this job or had a long day. But when customers spend almost $40 to $50 per head, she has to realize that they are not there to put up with the moods of the server.
As far as food is concerned, it was not warm so the server may have waited too long to pick up and serve us. We ordered veg fried rice with bokchoy. However it seems that the regular cook may be off on that day as it came with a pre -made fried rice adding raw bokchoy and peas without cooking the whole thing together.
Drinks were good and tasty and so were appetizer and dessert.
Overall, never got such a bad experience, over 15 years I have been going there.
I had the ginger beef and chow fun noodles which was excellent. My wife had the vegetable and tofu pad Thai. And except for the massive handful of cilantro (bad) and the basil (good) it was absolutely bereft of flavor. We patronize a lot of Lettuce Entertain You restaurants, Mon Ami Gabi and Wildfire most frequently. And thought we would give Big Bowl a shot because my wife is vegetarian and we both love Thai/Chinese food. Unfortunately for vegetarian options this is just mediocre and it put a drag on everything else. The bright spot was my food and the watermelon sangria which was excellent. Service was good and worth the 20% tip. And we had enough points in the reward program to pay for our meal minus $5 and tip so there was no indignation felt at the cost of the meal versus my wife's absolutely flavorless pad Thai.
