Big Bowl - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
The bottle of red wine we ordered was great. The appetizers were awesome. The main entrées were all good; we shared all the dishes. The atmosphere was lively. It's a good thing we made a reservation in advance. I wish there were a location closer to us. You should open more restaurants. Overall, the cuisine and the dining experience were excellent. I will be making a return trip in the very near future. Keep up the good work!
We had a reservation for 8 and did not get seated until 8:20. They were taking bigger parties that were walk ins before us. We complained and got seated within 10 minutes. The waitress we had was beyond excellent but the wait to be seated was too much to overcome. I do not think we will be back
Too many tables in small space. Repeatedly bumped by people and servers. Appetizers good but food not as described. Ordered Kung Pao chicken. Dish had no peppers and had sweet sauce. Server said was definitely what I ordered. Taste unlike any Kung Pai IHave ever eaten. Other entrees not like descriptions either. Server at table infrequently. Will not return.
Service was HORRIBLE! We sat for 10 minutes before the server stoped by, with a horrible attitude by the way, food was blah we usually love this place but not anymore Everything tastes very blend, again the server never checked to see how the food was tasting. We where celebrating a bday which I didn’t mention... guess they forgot, overall bad experience
This was an unpleasant experience. We have dined before here with our well behaved, socially appropriate children and had a good experience so we returned. Upon arriving, we approached the desk to notify them of the reservation. The apparent manager rudely pointed at us and asked if we were dining at the tables behind us. We were then seated in the bar area. I asked to be moved to the main dining room which was met without a verbal response, but rather abrupt direction to a table near the bussing station. When ordering our drinks, the waitress said in response to our children’s orders, “there aren’t any kids cups, is that ok?”- as I was making my decision, she blurted our,”well it’s going to have to be” and walked away. We did tip her 20% since that is just the type of clients we are, however, this was very poor service. I’m dissatisfied and likely will not return to this location.
My boyfriend and I come here often for everyday dining as well as certain special occasions. I usually get the same thing - the Thai Hot Pepper with chicken. This last time I tried a special on the menu (the Cherry Bomb Shrimp). Everything we've had here is really good, and I'm always a fan of the variety of flavors. The Thai Hot Pepper is spicy, savory, and lemony with fresh vegetable ingredients. My boyfriend usually gets some version of the Kung Pao with beef - this last time he created his own dish with a combination of the kung pao and szechuan sauce, which turned out great. He loves using the big flat chow fun noodles in the "make your own stir fry" dishes.
The service is always consistently good, and the restaurant is willing to seat you up to the last minute. We always appreciate their good service and the upbeat but dimly lit ambiance. Perfect setting for an everyday pre-theater dinner or a special occasion, depending on what you make of it.
We arrived earlier than our reservation time, but we're seated immediately. It was as though they were truly glad to see us. The restaurant was crowded and the noise level was moderate to high, but that did not stop us from enjoying a delicious meal. As first-timers to this restaurant, we also received a complimentary cucumber salad, which was excellent. From the yellow curry to the stir fry yourself bar, everything was lovely.
