Big Bowl-Ohio Ratings and Reviews
I remember Big Bowl when it was first located up on Cedar and Rush 20+ years ago. Much better dining experience then. Felt rushed, tightly packed, noisy and more fast-food now than years ago. Food quality was still decent, its just the ambience and locational differences that changed. I am 20 years older too, and more discriminating than when younger.
Three of us had dined in during the lunch hour. There were a decent amount of tables that were sat, but the restaurant was not super busy. I unfortunately do not remember the name of our server, but once we stated that we needed a little more time to look over the menu, we felt ignored. When we finally ordered our food, I had asked for a different kind of rice. After waiting about 15 minutes, the wrong dish had come out. Very disappointing lunch..
Im a big fan of Big Bowl. People can say it's "commercial" or whatever, but their food is fresh, vibrant and what seems high quality to me. I've never had a bad meal here. Thai Hot Pepper with Chow Fun noodles is my favorite dish. We also love the chicken pot stickers. Decent Sangria too. Good food, pretty good service and a good location. I'll be back (over and over)!
Discovered this place near our hotel on a trip to Chicago. Menu includes a variety of Thai/Asian dishes or create-your-own stir fry. Having celiac disease, I was especially pleased that so many of the sauce choices were gluten free, and they had gluten free soy sauce for the table as well. Portions were huge--I could only eat half of mine and took away the rest. Wait staff was friendly and helpful without intruding.
We had a large group, and tried their fixed price menu....pick three from each column, sort of.
The portions were extremely generous, and the food was fresh, well prepared and very tasty.
This is also an extremely friendly restaurant, and the entire experience is just....fun!
Sure the food is amazing at any Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, but the SERVICE here is just outstanding. We had increased our reservation unexpectedly from 6 to 8 on a VERY busy holiday weekend of the year and the staff at Big Bowl truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you for the amazing food and top notch service!
My friend and I were underwhelmed by the food at this location. We both selected the Stir-Fry option with chicken. The dishes were overcooked, over-sauced, and over-seasoned. The Pad Thai was OK.
Service was good. The upper landing seating area is pretty tight.
Overall, we were disappointed. A return visit is unlikely.
The problem was the temperature of the food. Our order of dumplings was cold. The waiter did his best to make it right. The new order of dumplings came to us lukewarm-just barely warm enough to eat. Our order of sesame chicken along with the vegetable fried rice was also lukewarm-just barely warm enough to eat. Had the food been hot, fresh from the kitchen, I would have given 4 stars.
