Big Bowl-Lincolnshire Ratings and Reviews
The food was very disappointing. I got a special of the day, noodles with beef. After taking one bite, I knew it was not going to work for me. The noodles were oily and the whole dish had no flavor. The waitress offered to get something else, and I asked for Mongolian beef. Another bad choice. The meat was tough, and way too much soy sauce.
On the other hand, my husband’s orange chicken was excellent.
Overall, a disappointing evening. Will not come back.
Two of the 4 meals ordered at my table were horribly bland. Yellow thai curry? Couldn't even taste curry. Our waiter took our order, and we didn't see him again until we asked the manager to clear our plates. He never even checked in to see if we were given the correct orders. It was very disappointing.
Our server (Michael) was fabulous! He was extremely friendly and understanding of my dietary needs. As I am not able to have soy or sugar, he was able to help me navigate the menu and discuss different flavoring options for my stir fry. Added to all this effort, he did not make me feel like I inconvenienced him in the least! Others at the table enjoyed their meals as well.
Big Bowl consistently does a great job of providing gluten-free meals. The service is always great too. Love the variety of their gluten-free options - several appetizers, many entrees, even a flourless cake! It's been my choice of restaurant for my birthday 5 years running now.
They were not up to their usual standards. My daughter asked for her dish without the hot peppers, and the peppers were not left out. Too spicy, but didn’t permit having them make it again. I asked for brown rice and my dish came with white. Attention to details is one of the primary reasons we like this location, but the ball was dropped this time around.
Waitress must of been new . Usually they are extremely friendly and helpful. She was neither . Left there and later I asked my wife what she thought and felt the same way. It was not a great experience. There was 6 of us and spent lots of money. I will go again because this was the first time it ever happened. The service was quick but didn’t ask how things were and if we needed anything etc etc
We love big bowl, and normally the food is fantastic. But this visit, we suspect they had a different chef on duty. My meal and my husbands were too heavy on the red pepper. And he like spicy foods, so for him to say that is really saying something! The red pepper overwhelmed the other flavors of the dish. It was not nearly as good as it normally is. The cilantro and basil were lost behind the red pepper. :( I hope they bring the other chef back, or give this person some more training.
We had a group of 6 for a birthday celebration. Everyone ordered something different from the menu and all thought the food was outstanding. The server was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend anyone to give the Big Bowl a try.
Food is always good and service is typically pretty good. However our waiter and even the kitchen was moving in a pretty slow pace. The place was not busy but dinner took 2 1/4 hrs. We waited a good 15 min before our waiter came by the first time so we ordered everything - appetizers, drinks and food. Still, everything took forever. We asked for refills and they were slow to come and the last time I asked he forgot and never came back with it.
We really enjoy the restaurant but don't want to spend that long on food again.
Had a reservation but still had to wait for a table. Very noisy to loud to visit with friends.
Lincolnshire location is very busy restaurant area which makes parking difficult.
I like Big Bowl expect for the noise but will enjoy the restaurant at a different location.
