About Big Bowl - Edina
There’s really only one place for authentic Chinese and Thai–and that’s Big Bowl. It all begins with the highest quality ingredients–naturally raised chicken and beef, heirloom pork, sustainable seafood and produce grown locally. Because Big Bowl believes that the best food is made from scratch, you can taste big, bold layers of flavors in every dish, from the curries right down to the dipping sauces.
Everyone raves about the pad Thai, our spicy dishes that are truly hot, and our create-your-own stir-fry–and for good reason. Every element adds up to big taste and takes our food to another level, be it a fresh squeeze of lime, fragrant herbs or the seared Thai chilies.
Big Bowl is so big on authentic flavors that even the ginger ale is made with fresh ginger root–from scratch, of course.

Big Bowl - Edina Ratings and Reviews
As vegetarians, we like Big Bowl. In this case, we were exceptionally impressed by our waitress, and the food. Our waitress was well informed on the sauces without animal products, and found out what was in the ones that we questioned the content on. We ordered the summer rolls, green beans, and orange chicken with tofu substituting for the chicken. Everything was great -- and I appreciated that you had an n/a beer on the menu since I am a Buddhist and don't drink -- except for the music, which we found loud and obnoxious. Not sure where to sit to get away from it, but it would be nice if you chose music more suited to dining rather than a concert venue and lowered the volume so you don't have to shout. Otherwise the experience was great.
We ordered our usual sesame chicken and it was a disappointment. It was mostly flour coating on many of the chocken pieces. The portion sizesz seemed smaller than I recall, as Imusually would take a box home with leftovers--not this time. The jasmine roce was fine.
Service was friendly and fast.
The triple chocolate brownie dessert we shared was a hit with my 8 year old grandson, and with me too.
The entire place was below standards when it comes to cleanliness. From the booth we were seated in, to the floors throughout the restaurant, to the clogged toilet in the ladies bathroom. I was not very interested in eating my meal after seeing how unkempt the entire space was.
For only the second time since this restaurant opened, we had a bad experience in every way, including the service and the food.
Our server was totally inattentive to our needs, making us wait an inordinate amount of time for everything - to take our orders, to bring us our slips for the stir fry bar, to bring us refills for our beverages (we finally gave up on them), to bringing us the check.
As usual, we ordered the stir fry bar and chose our own vegetables. When our meals came they were tasteless and the crispy chicken was so over fried it was like eating little strips of cardboard.
We eat at Big Bowl at least twice per month and, again, this was only our second bad experience we’ve had. However, it was bad enough that we won’t rush back
Each year at the time of my Daughter's birthday, we choose a mall to shop (this time Southdale) I had eaten at Big Bowl and knew the food was excellent, and the location worked out perfectly for a birthday lunch!
Our server was fabulous and created the very best Shanghai Mules! Our food was served warm and excellent! We had a wonderful lunch together, thank you to the restaurant and David our server.
We will eat at Big Bowl again, as will my daughter with her family and friends!
This is my all time favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. I love Thai food and the way big bowl makes it, it is more like the food I have back home in Goa, India.
The green curry is simply amazing. Nothing can go wrong with any orders here.
I wish they were in downtown I would eat here more often
Great! Made a reservation an hour ahead and got right in for an everyday dinner. I love the stir fry with curry and coconut sauce. The chiefs' choice makes it quick and easy to order. My husband like to choose his own veggies from the stir fry bar. Food was great. Service was good.
We generally dine at the Big Bowl in Rosedale Mall and find the quality and accuracy of the food order to be far superior than the Big Bowl in Edina. This difference has been quite consistent over the past few years. There should be more consistency at Big Bowl locations in the Twin Cities area. Very disappointing!
