About Big Bowl - Edina
There’s really only one place for authentic Chinese and Thai–and that’s Big Bowl. It all begins with the highest quality ingredients–naturally raised chicken and beef, heirloom pork, sustainable seafood and produce grown locally. Because Big Bowl believes that the best food is made from scratch, you can taste big, bold layers of flavors in every dish, from the curries right down to the dipping sauces.
Everyone raves about the pad Thai, our spicy dishes that are truly hot, and our create-your-own stir-fry–and for good reason. Every element adds up to big taste and takes our food to another level, be it a fresh squeeze of lime, fragrant herbs or the seared Thai chilies.
Big Bowl is so big on authentic flavors that even the ginger ale is made with fresh ginger root–from scratch, of course.

Big Bowl - Edina Ratings and Reviews
Service was top-notch. Server was great about drink refills and was checking on us constantly. Food was served fresh and tasty except for the cauliflower rice, which was only luke warm and not very 'rice-like'. We made a mention about this at the end of the meal and were treated to free dessert. They definitely took care of us!
Outstanding service! The wait staff was attentive, refreshing drinks as soon as they were low. We really appreciated this as we were hot after a long day's work. Any passing waiter would silently collect dirty dishes as soon as they appeared. The food is superb -- I had the Thai hot pepper chicken, the vegetables were nice and fresh -- and everyone enjoyed their meals.
The food was unusually outstanding. Everything was piping hot and delicious. Waitress was very good. I was a little put off by one of the staff at the front desk. We arrived earlier than expected, there were very few people around the desk though the restaurant was busy. I checked in and was brusquely told that she would call my cell when a table opened up. Perhaps it was her manner more than her words. It just felt like I was being pushed off to the to wait. Not sure what the intention was, but it felt negative.
I went to Big Bowl with my parents and had vegetarian summer rolls, they both had chicken pad thai, I made my own vegetarian stir fry mix. They mixed a lot of noodles with the veggies and said they were going to keep them separated. Made my dish twice, but wasn't as good as my parents' meals.
I liked the spring rolls/summer rolls - the stir fry was okay.
I made a reservation to dine at Big Bowl. We love the organic food and generally have had good experiences. On this recent Sunday, they decided to "close early" after we just ordered dinner at 6:30. They began tearing down the restaurant at 7:00 - they close at 9:00. The waiter did not allow us dessert or a second drink. He just said it was "too dead" to stay open. We barely finished eating ... We were not the only customers, and they were tapping toes to get us to leave. They did not offer us a discount for our limited dining experience - we were expected to pay full price despite the imposed limitations on what we paid for.... this includes not only the food, but service, atmosphere, and comfort. They robbed us of half of our dining pleasure pushing us out, but we paid in full! I am disgusted by the loss of time with my dear friends (finding somewhere else to go is nuts if one is not a bar fan) and disgusted by the get out mentality of this restaurant. Open means open. Do not start stacking chairs around my head. Do not stand in a group and stare. My warning, do not count on this place to put you first!
The kitchen was unable to get my order correct. No dressing - salad was drenched. No tomato; tons of tomatoes. They did bring dressing on the side but it wasn’t needed. Drinks were flavorless and mostly seltzer. Wasn’t just me. All around us, food was going back to be redone. I only have so much time so I made do. Maybe it was an off night. They are the squally better than this.
Great Service and Good Food. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made sure what i ordered was safe for me . She was very happy and outgoing. She was very attentive. Our food was delicious and all 4 of us were very happy with our dinner. It came out in a timley manner and without issue. 2 of our table did the "Stir fry bar" where you go pick your own fixings and they were very happy with outcome. All around good experience. Will return.
As vegetarians, we like Big Bowl. In this case, we were exceptionally impressed by our waitress, and the food. Our waitress was well informed on the sauces without animal products, and found out what was in the ones that we questioned the content on. We ordered the summer rolls, green beans, and orange chicken with tofu substituting for the chicken. Everything was great -- and I appreciated that you had an n/a beer on the menu since I am a Buddhist and don't drink -- except for the music, which we found loud and obnoxious. Not sure where to sit to get away from it, but it would be nice if you chose music more suited to dining rather than a concert venue and lowered the volume so you don't have to shout. Otherwise the experience was great.
We ordered our usual sesame chicken and it was a disappointment. It was mostly flour coating on many of the chocken pieces. The portion sizesz seemed smaller than I recall, as Imusually would take a box home with leftovers--not this time. The jasmine roce was fine.
Service was friendly and fast.
The triple chocolate brownie dessert we shared was a hit with my 8 year old grandson, and with me too.
