Menu is mostly seafood cooked in front of you at the counter. Quality was okay but not special. Bill was incorrect. J. Briggs at Suncoast is the same style and probably the same owner but better food and service; no need to go back.
Great place for shrimp scampi and clam chowder! Please arrive with an appetite for tasty seafood! And ask for a doggie bag, that can be lunch tomorrow!! Go for it.........................
Big Al's is the bombdiggity! Sit at the bar and watch the decadence being made is the way to go. The largest on the half shells this side of New Orleans. Nubia is a fantastic host.
Excellent food, definitely will dine again at Big Al's!!
The Boston clam chowder is about the best I've ever had and I'm from New England!
New to Las Vegas and needed a special place to celebrate a close friends Birthday. This place was great! Food portions are large and the dishes are exceptional. Will be returning soon.
Simple menu, big portions, fresh made, great tasting. The soup is excellent.
Great food great prices. Visit many times. Pan Asian Salmon fantastic.
Lisa the manager helped us accommodate a large party at the last minute. Great service!!
My favorite restaurant at The Orleans. We were there for 5 days for JAMZ Nationals. The kids didn’t care for the menu though...wish there was a kids menu. Other than that, the crawfish & crab legs were delicious though! The soup was absolutely amazing!
Fantastic food and service. They sat us exactly where we requested. This place is a must when we visit Vegas.
First I have frequented this place for quite a while. The food is really amazing. However taking my wife there on Valentine’s Day for oysters salmon and other’s, we as always had an amazing experience with the manager on duty. She is always amazing. Our issue on Valentine’s Day which has sealed the deal not to return was While eating the bread where they have the oil and vinegar mixture we were indulging in it. My wife pointed and asked what is that? How did the vinegar bottle were fruit flies so God knows how many pieces were consumed. The failure was that there was absolutely zero guest recovery attempt when brought to managements attention. Very sad because it makes you wonder as a manager I would have been in shock. That makes me feel that despite of my previous visits this is a norm
Pleasantly surprised by the quiet settings (Tuesday night). Able to hear across the table! Half dozen oysters fresh, Manhattan clam chowder not quite right, but jambalaya good. Will go back.
overall a good experience. waitstaff was awesome.
Good authentic seafood dishes, including fresh oysters. Simple decor, not at all fancy. Friendly service. Not upscale, but good value. Reasonable prices, large portions.
Great for Cajun food! The clams and gumbo were wonderful. Food is filled with spice.
Loved the build your build your own Bloody Mary! I had king crab, bacon and olives!!!
The oysters were ok? The server was very nice but our beer was really flat and the glasses smelled funny? I thought the oysters were over priced and not very good however the chowder was delicious!
We were transferred from the California Hotel to Orleans due to a water problem??? My wife wasn't very happy as she prefers staying at the "Cal" since it is so convenient to visit other casinos , restaurants and viewing the Fremont show. I was hungry for some fresh seafood and remembered the fine seafood we ate here a few years ago, especially the clam chowder, clams and oysters on a half shell and the wonderful seafood salad. Mrs ordered soup and salad, daughter shrimp scampi w/pasta, and I ordered the pound of king crab ($29). Well, I was disappointed since the crab was split lengthwise, was dry and very difficult to eat...the clam chowder though was delicious. Mrs enjoyed the soup as well, but the bread on the sandwich was hard and tasteless, same with the shrimp. Sometimes it's best to order the same item you enjoyed in the past rather than try something new. New time (?) I order the chowder, oysters/clams on a half shell and the seafood salad.
Great Food. Just like going to New Orleans. Love the GUMBO. Always get 4 bowles to go.
Our favorite place to eat Boston Clam Chowder, creamy deliciousness!!! A must every trip we make to Vegas!
An accident happened (a server accidentally dropped the soup on us, two people were slightly injured, and food splashed on the clothes ), but the restaurant manager did not handle it well. Showed up 15 mins after the incident and she offered us subtract two soups on the bill, we feel insulted.
At the end , casino shift manager came over to improve the handling of this incident.
In my opinion, they have the best oysters in Las Vegas. The clam chowder is also terrific and if you like seafood gumbo it is fantastic but be prepared to take some home because the amount of gumbo is too much for me to eat at one sitting. They also have fresh salads that are large, the service is fantastic and all the employees are friendly. Our waitress Gariella was friendly and attentive. Manager Lisa Kray was pleasant as she helped her employees provide service to all all the patrons. Eat there regularly. Will continue to do so.
extremely unhappy with the seafood soup. Oyster prices were extremely high!!!!!
Good restaurant if you like seafood. If you don't, not a good choice.
Food was good and the clams on the half shell were big ,clean and meatee . really enjoyed ourselves.
All of the seating is a bit "hectic". No relaxing atmosphere. In the back where we were seated you have an ample view of the kitchen entry/exit and big screen TV with sports.
I have come to the.Orleans hotel for last 7 years. I always look forward to the good food and good service. The King Crab legs were cold but they were still good. Service has always been excellent.
I was a little hesitant to go to an Oyster Bar in the desert, since it is quite some distance to water where oysters (or any fresh seafood) come from. This restaurant is in the middle of the Orleans Hotel and Casino, therefore the open plan (no walls between smokey/loud casino) was not very conducive to peaceful eating or business discussions.
The food was really outstanding. Started the meal with an order of ceviche, it was perfect. Then had the Clam linguine.....wow, it was out of this world and a HUGE portion. So happy with the meal at Big Al's, cant wait to return!
We were going to see a show and needed a quick meal. Very good.
Very good food and great service what else do you need!
Large portions but we shared and enjoyed!
Food and service was great. Servers and host were very helpful and pleasant. Ambiance was soothing despite beging located in a casino.
Great food and great service! Everyone was very attentive👍🏻
As always first class service , extremely welcoming and great quality food cooked fresh highly recommend especially if you get Mercedes as your server best in Vegas . Would highly recommend this establishment.
This is a great restaurant with great food , casual dinning at fair prices , food is always of a high quality.
We didn't really have a great experience . We made a reservation and showed up 5 minutes before our reservation time just so we we're not late. There is a little desk in the front with one person helping we're you check in and people we're payingso it was a little crowded and confusing. Anyway we checked on and sat down. He was a very nice gentalman. A waitress can over and took our drinks she was also very nice and bubbly. A different waitress came over and took our order. She was not as nice. She had a bit of an attitude, didn't really answer questions about the menu, and kept rushing us. Well we finally ordered . Our food didn't come out at the same time 35 min before my daughters food came out 15 min later my wife's food 10 min later my food came out. Keep in mind me and my wife ordered the exact same thing. We I did not like my food and asked to send it back and order something else. The waitress kept asking what was wrong with the food, I should just eat it, and try it with pasta instead of rice. Well the point was I did not like the sauce so switching to pasta really wasn't going to make a difference. She buffed and took the food and I ordered a salad. The there was plastic in my daughters food. We asked to speak to the manager. He came over we told him what happened gave him the plastic and he went to the kitchen. He came back with more plastic and told us it was probably the crab that was wrapped in the plastic there probably wasn't washed off good and said at least it wasn't dangerous. Are you kidding me possibly and swallowed is dangerous this was not a small piece of plastic. He did comp my daughter's meal. Needless to say we will not be back to this restaurant.
