Big Al's Oyster Bar @ The Orleans
Quick, friendly service from host to servers...food from appetizers to the main course was really good.
No real complaint except that the dressing for my salad was a bit too tangy...
This is a great place for soups, salads, sandwiches (wraps) and entrees. The food is very tasty and the manager there (Craig) is superb. His staff is very attentive and pleasant to deal with. Love this place!
Great service wasn’t rushed.Had a reservation and the table was waiting for us. The oysters were fresh the crab cakes delicious and the food wasn’t over priced.
Big Al’s oyster bar
Restaurant inside the Orleans Hotel.
Sorry to say, to us, the food is average
Here, the portions are very big.
But, Only for filling the stomach.
We do not have the pleasure to eat.
Even if there are many ingredients in my Boston clam chowder,
the chowder was not tasty.
The crab cakes were ok.
Shrimp and button scallops have no taste to us.
Not expensive, but not unforgettable food.
Love this place for chowder, both kinds! Their shrimp and chicken wrap is so tasty!!! Good value, good food and the manager Craig is great. Always checking to see if all is ok...which it was!
was greeted promptly, server asked for our beverages and when we replied with water, she never returned. flagged another server down who then took our food order. we ordered the seafood sampler as an appetizer. what a disappointment. the crab legs seemed like they were frozen and barely thawed enough to be served and there were four small sad shrimps and two oysters. we couldn’t find our server (who also still never brought our drinks), however the manager who was on the floor doing rounds, stopped by and switched the appetizer out for something else with no issue. the gumbo tasted good, but we both felt pretty sick the next day and there were chunks of shells from the shrimp i kept biting down on. our waitress never checked on us one single time. the place was not busy at all. we had to ask the same gentlemen that helped us in the beginning for our check. if it wasn’t for the help of the manager, this experience would have been a total 1 star.
They have a good variety of food and drinks. Lots of energy and pleasant place to go. Love the Orleans, it is away from the craziness of the strip and offers a lot.
Good seafood A++++ meals
I dont understand how this place gets such high ratings.. this has to be a scam.. theres nothing great about the food there. It’s in a casino and smells like cigarette.. food isn’t tasty
True NO dining. Super large portions. We’d consider going back again and ordering several appetizers or sharing a dinner menu item.
Love this place every year we make it a point to eat there. Excellent oysters on the half shell!
Great food, fresh, tasty. Open table reservations helped as place was pack between basketball games. Ate there 2 nights in a row, trying different menu items
We love this restaurant! One of our favorites in Las Vegas. The Crab & Shrimp boil is fantastic per the husbands, but the wives love the white clam chowder bread bowl. Manager and wait staff are wonderful. Can’t wait to go back again next time we are in town.
Chris, the Manager, is great
I have eaten there six times during the West Coast Conference Basketball Championships
We were seated right away with reservation and our table actually had a reserve sign on it! Waitress was prompt and friendly. Food was very good and service was prompt! Make sure you make a reservation in advance. By 6pm there was a line!
Been coming here for over 10 yrs, never disappoints! Boston Clam Chowder is as delicious as ever!
Bomba was a major disappointment...it was frozen solid. My bacon wrapped shrimp with crab filling was average. The rice and salad served with it was awful...way too salty. I won't be back.
Food was delicious!!! Service was great. Place is loud but as expected in a casino environment. Would go back again.
I love this restaurant in my family did we had a great time great service and the oysters was off the hook if so was there crab in shrimp boil and I will be coming back again and I will tell everyone about those restaurant cuz I really enjoyed myself
I guess it was ok. The bowl of seafood chowder was good—a lot of clams and scallops in it. I took it home because I couldn’t finish it. The seafood sampler was ok. I found out that I don’t like raw clams. But overall, it was just ok.
The food was disappointing. We ordered oysters Rockefeller which were awful. The clam chowder was good, the only decent thing. The shrimp scampi was disgusting.
The service was ok but not very attentive.
I was so looking forward to oysters and was let down.
food was very good, wait staff very helpful, prompt, and friendly.
Excellent seafood! We started with the Shrimp Cocktail which is super simple, shrimp on a plate, little garnish and cocktail sauce. Don't let the simplicity surprise you! The shrimp was outstanding! Of course I love the warm sourdough bread they bring you. The butter could be a little softer. For dinner I ordered the Louisiana Gumbo and my wife had the Manhattan Clam Chowder and Shrimp Wrap. The star of the show had to be the Manhattan Clam Chowder. Don't get me wrong the Gumbo and wrap were great but the clam chowder just outshone them all. Enough that next time I'm ordering a bowl of the Manhattan Clam Chowder and something small. I did see something I want to try next time, the Oyster shooters looked great and a table across from us was sure enjoying them. Can't wait to come back.
The food was Mediocre and that’s being generous. The wait staff were extremely rude. Don’t waste your time or money
Love this place! This was the first time we tried this restaurant. I love cajun food and had read the reviews. This place is legit. The clam chowder was the best we've ever tried! I had the Louisiana Gumbo! The servings are very generous. You won't leave hungry.
seafood was frozen, service slow even though not a packed restaurant. quality was mediocre
My wife and I attended the the world curling events in the Orleans hotel a short while ago and we stopped in at your bar for dinner. We were so impressed with the great service and quality of food that we returned to your bar several times while we were in Vegas. I think the lady who provided us with the most impressive service was named Abby. Thank you for the service and good quality meals.
Everitt & Jeannette Sanville
The best bouillabaisse ever! Bar none. I will definitely be back!
Always love this place. Our favorite entree Pan Fried Asian Salmon , Miso marinated and served with Sweet Chili Sauce, Asian Fruit Relish and Spring Mix over Rice Pilaf.
A full meal with enough leftover for lunch the next day. Always consistently great food. Reasonably priced too!
We tried this place out before our movie and it is a new favorite. I had the seafood chowder and ceviche and it was amazing. My daughter had a pasta dish and it was delicious and big enough for 2-3 people. Awesome meal!
Always enjoy Big Al’s for lunch but this was the first time there for dinner. As always food was great, but service was terrible. From the greeter, to the server, to the waiter services was poor.
The greeter was so rude I didn’t even alert her to our reservation because I didn’t want to spend another second with this miserable person.
Then after being seated & got our drinks & bread we sat for over 10 minutes with empty glasses of iced tea & water before we had to call over another server to get our glasses refilled.
Then it seemed like we were rushed to leave as the waiter came back to pickup the check before I had even signed the bill.
Think I’ll stick with Al’s for lunch only as service is always on point.
Very authentic, good tasting food. Great, authentic seafood and Louisianan food in Las Vegas.
Don't get the shrimp po boy.. the breading is very thick. It didn't taste beer battered. No menu suggestions were made by waitress. I believe there were better tasting things on the menu.
If you enjoy raw oysters and raw clams, this is the place to go. The quality and freshness of the seafood is always consistently amazing. This is the only place where I can finish a couple dozen oysters in a matter of seconds. I honestly cannot believe how this place manages to have such fresh seafood in the middle of the desert, but they've done it. I usually love crab, but I hate the work to eat it, especially in a restaurant setting because I don't want to make a mess in public. Big Al's makes it really convenient to eat your food, because every Alaskan crab leg is perfectly split so that the meat is fully exposed. They give you little forks that fit perfectly into the leg for you to eat it like a lady. The wait-staff is also equally as wonderful as the food. We have been lucky enough to have Abby every single time we've been there and she always, not only remembers our family of 5's orders, but she always does a great job. Although the wine selection is not the most expansive, all the wines are delicious and if you're like me and don't particularly like alcohol, order the Zinfandel. It tastes like soda. If you do like that wine-alcohol flavor, go for a red wine or the champagne. We usually spend about a week in Vegas per trip, and if we could, we'd eat there every night.
My husband and I went here for our Xmas date night. All of the appetizers that we chose were so good. The sauce on the crab cakes was delicious. We enjoyed our main entrees too and the cheesecake was the perfect ending to our meal.Everyone there made us feel so welcome and the service was excellent. Will definitely go there again.
Great food, extremely fast service!
Oysters were flavorless, clam chowder was pastey and tasted canned with little to no clam flavor. The crab cakes were good and the sauce was decent.
Great food and variety
We ordered 2 clam chowders but only received 1 after tasting it I was happy we ordered only 1 it was to heavy in cream base. I loved clam chowder but this was not my favorite. Sorry
