Came to Biffs for my wife’s birthday and tried to suspense her with her friends. Biffs is one of our favourite restaurants. They treat all their guests very well and the food is always fantastic. Great environnement and great selection of food! Will always be back!!
Amazing food! We sat in the bar area as the dining area is very loud. Very nice, attentive wait staff. Would definitely go back.
Terrific meal with excellent service. Decent wine list with 50% discount on some bottles on Sundays. Great menu of classic French Canadian food.
Amazing every time. Service. Food. Ambiance. First class place.
Bistro atmosphere. Great value. Good food and service
Service was exceptional, wait staff were very helpful and polite. The food was generally great, but the fries that came with the steamed mussels was cold and stale. We didn't have time to eat our dessert (spent too much time catching up with each other) that came with the price fixed menu and we asked to pack it up, the dessert came with ice cream and they just put the ice cream inside the box, when I got home, the ice cream was melted and the biscuit below was soggy, i had to throw it away. If they had told us it comes with ice cream we might have just finished it there very quickly so it wasn't wasted.
Lamb was OK but not great. The steak was tough. Service was very good.
Service was too slow. Got there at 6, ordered by 6:15. Food came 7:30. Told them at beginning we had to leave by 7:40 for theatre. Took 50 min. To get a glass of wine!
My family and I came here for dinner to celebrate my dad’s birthday and it was truly an amazing experience. The food is amazing, the service was perfect and the ambience is great. Would highly recommend this restaurant!!
Two of us dined before going to show at Yonge Centre. Had beef tenderloin, was perfectly cooked. Creme Brûlée was also very good. Service was a little slow.
Food was delicious. Presentation was lovely. Servers are all so french and fabulous. Lovely evening. Perfect for a ladies night, even better for date night. Drink special is the perfect topper.
Very slow although barely anyone in the restaurant. Oysters served without proper fork and spoon for the mignonette.
I was disappointed.
The Sancerre was delicious, but the rest of the meal failed to thrill.
Salade truffee was fine.
Boeuf Bourgignon was very salty.
The Cranberry Clafoutis needed more cranberries and I prefer my clafoutis with a more Yorkshire-pudding-like batter.
The Nicolas Pinot Noir was OK.
They had run out of Armagnac altogether! In a bistro! what about Le Trou Gascon?
I should add that my waiter was excellent.
None of this reflects on him.
The location is perfect and the menu selections good. But the noise was so loud we had to shout throughout the entire meal. The server mixed up our order not once but twice! And the bill for a simple meal - appetizer, glass of wine and mediocre meal - was $85 per person.
I'd been to Biff's before and recommended it for this outing. I was sorry I had; no one loved their entree and we all found it too loud and too expensive.
Service was excellent. Charcuterie was delicious and the steak frites 6 oz filet was excellent.
I would like to go back and order something else before saying I don’t like this place. Unfortunately I found the steak frites too salty and it did take a very long time to arrive at the table. I suspect other dishes are better and the staff were very friendly, helpful and hard working.
Loved everything about it! On Sunday they have half price wine which is great. Our server Al, was amazing and knowledgeable in all areas of service. Definitely will be back 👌🏽
Great ambiance. Impeccable service. Food was delicious. It was nice to have parking so easily available, especially when the restaurant is located in such a busy area.
Very good meal with the obvious added convenience of being right opposite the Sony Centre. The steak tartare was excellent as was the poached trout in a white wine sauce. The apple crumble dessert was beautifully presented but alas the pastry was a little underdone.
The service was great. The price is a little expensive for what it was, but the rent for the location must be expensive and the fact you get to park for just $2 justified it.
This was our first experience at Biff's and we were delighted. Everything was superb - the decor, the service, the cocktails and the food. Our server suggested a wine pairing for my husband that went perfectly with his steak.
We will definitely be back.
I would recommend Biff's as they have an interesting menu and the food was above average, but I would suggest you DO NOT go on a night when there is something on at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts. Our reservation was for 6:00 pm and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Then the restaurant started to fill up with theatre patrons and our service started to suffer. We found that people who had arrived after us received their main courses before us. The table behind us was paying their bill before their desserts even arrived. And, when our son tried to order another drink (off the "specials' menu, which ended at 7:00 pm) the waiter said "Oh sorry, you've missed it" - it was 7:08 and the waiter hadn't been to our table in over 20 mins. Not a great customer experience.
Beautiful room. Though the servers were polite and professional they seemed to have too many tables as they were hard to flag down. Drinks came 10 minutes after food with an apology and second round was comped. Portions very small for price you're paying. Caesar salad croutons were tooth breakingly stale, bacon undercooked and cold, lettuce under dressed. Black truffle salad was nice but under garnished for price. French onion soup was a little cool. Bearnaise was room temp and 6oz tenderloin must be precook weight, too small! Fries were good but not uniformly crispy. Perch was deep fried but not crispy, very oily plate - too rich for fish plate IMO. Chocolate cake was too dense. Really a brownie. Peanut butter mousse was delicious but amount was not proportionate to size of brownie. All in all very hit and miss in kitchen. Room was very loud and tables quite close together. I went because I was seeing a show across the street but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
Menu was limited
Originally seated us right at the entrance when the whole restaurant was practically empty though agreed to change on request.
The steak was fatty with a lot of the fatty trims still in the steak.
Service was acceptable after the server warmed up with some casual exchange
As evening progressed and the restaurant started to fill up the noise level also went up considerably to the point we could not have conversations at normal decibels
The branding is totally incoherent, to begin with...a French bistro called "Biffs"? Table for two, we had the charcuterie board and Fois Gras, average at best, worst bland pina colada I ever tasted, four waiters came to the table to deliver the food consisting of a charcuterie board and two plates of Fois Gras felt like we were being swarmed, the menu consisted of one page on a clear plastic covered unimpressive menu. Steak Frites as a dinner item isn't a game changer, as a matter of fact, it's 1995 downright boring. The ambiance looked cheap and slapped together like an independent Applebys decorated with brick a brack from a garage sale. $168 for two people. First and last time.
Food was fantastic - as usual! One of my absolute favourites in the city!
Good location and great food. Was not disappointed
Excellent. My go to French Bistro for years. They always do my steak tartare just the way I like it.
This large restaurant appears focused on the tourist market. We found the food delicious. We found the wines by the glass disappointing and over priced. We were unlucky with our server who was cold and unable to make our evening fun. Lastly the ambiance was very unfrench bistro. It was empty when we would have expected it to be noisy and busy on Saturday night. If you are hungry and need some French cuisine this may be the place for you. However there are much better French bistros in Toronto.
Fantastic time at Biff's...first time visit. Elliott did an outstanding job with us and was patient with our slow to order -chatty group. The food was great and came out in a proper timely manor, without feeling rushed nor was it too slow. The Duck Confit (with the added foi gras on top) was a homerun and the best piece of duck ive ever had. Wine menu is great and diverse, if not a bit pricey. Otherwise an outstanding time and place enjoying classic French bistro fare. Great job!
The food was amazing!
They were pleasant, funny, understood our timeline as we had tickets to a show after dinner.
Great experiencing and highly recommend.
Service was exemplary-friendly and prompt. We had the Duck Confit - it was excellent. All the tables for full and as a result the noise level was quite high but we were a table for two, so had no problem hearing each other. Will definitely be back.
This place never disappoints!
Delicious food and good wine list. Very attentive service. A great place to go with friends and enjoy a nice evening out.
Loved our waitress. Great spot. Recommended by Omni concierge.
Love that one can now take away the balance of wine. Driver can enjoy balance back at home. I tend to order the mussels which are always superb. Other dishes that friends and family order, look great too. Perfect service. Friendly and just the right amount of check-in. Ambience is fantastic, especially that alcove with the black and white photos. Many many dining options in T.O. but Biff's defintely is our Go To. Consistently very very good.
Our experience was excellent from start to finish. The staff were outstanding and the food was out of this world.
The evening was made by George the waiter who often tends bar at Biffs, lovely guy, friendly and can never do enough
Excellent service and food!
We very much enjoyed our dinner at Biff's. I was dining with a friend whom I had not seen for several months, to share a meal and catch up. We had both had been many times before and chose Biff's for the quality of food, friendly service in French and general atmosphere for this type of encounter. Unfortunately but not unexpectedly in a downtown eatery, we happened to see a mouse scurrying across the dining room floor just as we were paying our bill. But the meal was fine and Biff's still gets my vote for the best tartare de bœuf in Toronto!
