Bien Me Sabe
We have interpreted the taste of Venezuelan homemade food, offering local dishes from our country and fused them with a modern touch for our customers.
Our “homemade” philosophy is to offer fresh food prepared with quality ingredients with the best combination of Caribbean flavors.
The food was good! Very simple, but still very tasty. The server took a little time before greeting our table, but the place was so busy (and rightfully so) that everyone was running around trying to give service to all tables, so it didn’t bother me. The hostess was incredibly sweet, and seemed very attentive to the needs of the tables seated and the people who were waiting to be seated. Our reservation was for 6:45. We arrived a little less than 10mins early and were seated five mins early, which was great, and our server, (Richard or Ricardo, sorry I cant recall it exactly) was very prompt with getting our food rung in and out quickly. I’ll definitely be back again.
Great experience. Can't wait to go again to try a main dish item.
Amazing food! Very crowded however, and service left a little to be desired. Was checked up on once despite ordering an appetizer, mains, and desserts. Perhaps it was just an off day, but I would have appreciated a water refill that didn't come just as we were finishing our meal.
Awesome service. Good food. Good ambience
Server was amazing like always 🥰
Can’t wait to go back for special on Wednesday’s
SO delicious! We will absolutely be back, but with our friends and family!
Delicious, fresh food. Looking forward to dining there again!
We have been to Bien twice and on both visits our experience and our food was outstanding. I notice some people not sharing food but this is a mistake as you'll want to have at least one bite of every fabulous dish on your table - come and plan to share and over eat.
Delicious food presented well. Lunch menu excellent value.
This place is always great to dine at. It can get busy at times, like Friday night, but as long as you make a reservation, there are no issues.
The appetizer is really good to share.
This place was great but that's nothing new for my wife and I! We've been coming here for years and in fact 2 years ago we actually got engaged here! Great food, great staff, great service. 5 Stars all around the board
The food and varied selections were great. The empenadas were especially delicious. Will return again soon.
Outstanding find. Delicious, creative food in a lovely spot. Service was right on. Would certainly go again. Just wished I lived in the neighborhood so I could drop by often.
The food was wonderful, the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was great! I will definitely be back!
The food was really good. The menu was slightly misleading and it was super expensive for an arepa that would probably be about one fourth of the price. It’s kinda crappy that they are taking advantage of people to have good food that isn’t expensive at all (as I’m Venezuelan and know how much an arepa cost to make).
Good food in a casual setting. Loved my dessert. I went for dinner but i would recommend it more for a lunch spot.
Great food as always!
My first time, try the arepas so good! The shrimp appetizer also delicious. I hope to rerun and explore more of the menu.
We love this restaurant. The food and service are amazing and we will be back soon!
One of my new favorite restaurants in Chicago. Amazing.
We visited Bien Me Sabe with our entire family, including a one year old. The space was sufficient to keep everyone happy. By that I mean the one year old. The arepas were wonderful. We ordered french fries as to come before the meal. Noteworthy was the curryish dipping sauce. I loved it. Our server had just the right customer service attitude. He was always there when needed, friendly but not phoney, with a deep supply of helpful suggestions. I forgot that it was BYOB but the juices were wonderful. My wife had a coconut smoothie and I had the strawberry. Both were wonderful.
The food was fantastic, but it seemed expensive for the serving size.
One of my favorite restaurants in the midwest to go for authentic Venezuelan food! My mother and I go quite often, and reminisce of home with the flavors in each and every dish. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for some great Venezuelan food!
The food here is delicious!!! We had the lunch special which was a great value! And, most things are naturally gluten free (which is perfect for me since I'm gluten intolerant).
Love this restaurant but noticed lately staff are very serious and cold to customers. My server was so serious that made us so uncomfortable, we didn’t know if he was just mad or didn’t enjoy our table. I usually enjoyed my dinner here but staff needs to be nicer to their own customers.
Outstanding food, great service...nice neighborhood restaurant. Would definitely go again.
This was our first time here and I've heard GREAT things. I made sure to make reservations about a week prior for my Boyfriend's Birthday. It was absolutely packed, which is great for them. We only had to wait 5 mins for our table to be ready which is impressive. We were sat and probably waited about 10 mins for someone to get to us (again, super understandable considering how busy there were).
The table was pretty small and we couldn't fit much on it which was a shame, so we put our 6 pack of beer on the floor so we could have more elbow room.
The Ceviche was out of this world amazing and reminded me of Kinilaw (Filipino style ceviche). I will totally be back for that alone. The Parrilla Mar y Tiera for 2 is what we both ordered and split and it was amazing with the different flavors that were combined (unless you both have an extra stomach each, this is an awesome choice). We couldn't finish it all, so we took it home.
I asked for the bill, paid and sat around to finish up our beers. My boyfriend stepped away for a minute and I asked our server why nothing was done for his Birthday since I put it in the description on the reservation. He said that I had to tell him verbally... I was kind of angry because I use Open Table at my restaurant and we always read our customer's notes so we could be more accommodating and never had an issue with other restaurants we've used for special occasions in the past. That was the only thing that made the experience 4/5 star worthy.
Such a gem! Food was fantastic and worth the price. They accommodated our 4 person party that turned into 7 on the patio. The server could’ve been a tiny bit more attentive but it was very casual and comfortable. Our party had a great time. Get the Ceviche for starters and the surf and turf if you have a big appetite.
I was very disappointed after our visit there today, we took my mom for brunch and there was no brunch menu, which I wasn't told about when I made the reservation. I have had your brunch before and it so good, I was really disappointed from the get go.
The arepas in general I noticed, seemed to have been rushed outta the kitchen and the crusts weren't crusty, in fact they were falling apart as we all tried to eat them. I end up eating mine with silverware, cause it was just falling apart.
My husband ordered a reina peleada, which doesn't say anything about cheese with item the menu, it came with so much cheese,, it should have been described as cheese with a splash or chicken salad, he was very disappointed, I actually told the waiter about it and he kinda like well, whatever. This is the first time my husband has not finished an arepa ever. Very disappointing
Then the corking fee of 15 dollars seems a little excessive.
I'm not sure if it was because of Mother's Day, there were milking it, but due to these three reasons the experience was not as good as it has been in prior visits. In the restaurant business consistency is key and not making feel your customers taken advantage of is absolutely important.
Maybe it's time for us to try rica arepa and see how that goes
Quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The food is delicious, the staff is attentive, I couldn't think of a complaint if I tried! Great job to everyone who works here.
I enjoyed my dinner experience. The hospitality was excellent and it was a privilege to talk with the manager. The meal was deliciously homemade. Overall, I would eat dinner here again.
Súper good Venezuelan food!!! Highly recommend the arepas and pabellón! Also the chicha will bring you back to Venezuelan childhood and its absolutely amazing!
Although this started out bad due to the open table reservation not showing up in Bien Me Sabe's system, our waiter COMPLETELY turned our early onset negative opinions around and made this a place we will return to again and again! Don't wait--go here!
We all really enjoyed our dinner at Bien Me Sabe such a great value for the amount of food you get!
I wanted to try the Venezuelan cuisine in Chicago after I tried it in Boston and it turned out to be decent.
Everything was delicious! Service was attentive and kind, despite the busy night. I am already planning to go back.
Great recommendations from the waiter and amazing food!
