We tried two baked pasta dishes this time, both were excellent and since they were in casserole dishes and actually baked, they took a little bit more time than other entrees, but worth it. Watching calories, we both ordered the Smaller Plate versions at $12.95 each. It was the perfect amount for me and my wife still left some on her plate, so what a great value these are. I'm a red wine drinker and like to try something new, but here, I always get a glass of the house chianti. Excellent for a house pour.
Biagio is a terrific restaurant with classic Italian cuisine. Staff is attentive and kind. A favourite of mine!
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Waiter was attentive to our needs and food was brought in a timely manner.
went for winterlicious
would go again
will check for summerlicious
The server was attentive, perhaps the day we went wasn't too packed. High-end restaurant with high-end price, but the service should be enough to cover. I always wanted to try this restaurant every time I walked by, just didn't get an excuse to go until winterlicious. The dishes are creative & suit my taste buds, the tiramisu is a wow! Big enough to make holding up your tummy to walk out. I think I will go again in my anniversary.
Wonderful food and excellent service. Very impressive wine list. Mr. Biagio is a welcoming and accommodating host.
Always a favourite. Very upscale. Will always return.
Nice ambience and service. Always a nice place to enjoy a relaxed long lunch.
My second visit to Biagio and well worth it again. My steak was slightly overdone but not so terrible that it needed a do-over. The cheesecake for dessert was among the best ever I’ve had. Our server, Tony, was friendly and schooled us on many cuisines which was unexpected and enjoyable. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic selection of wine and food. Very authentic cuisine. We booked very late and his restaurant did everything they could to accommodate us. Fantastic find we'll be going back for sure.
great food and great service as always! food is excellent!
Attentive service, very good food. Pricey, however.
The restaurant atmosphere is lovely both inside and out. A charming building across from a lovely park and a pleasant short walk from the bustle of Yonge Street.
The pasta is average and certainly not any better than what you could easily achieve at home only with larger servings. And that bothers me. It's just pasta! It costs nothing! Throw in a little extra to properly fill the plate thereby allowing people to feel that they are receiving value for their $28.00 menu item.
But what's really annoying is a certain veneer of arrogance from everyone connected with the establishment. It's almost as if they resent your presence. The sense conveyed from the waiters is something like this: "I may be just a waiter and you may be able to afford this meal better than me, but I have more class than you - in Bourdieusian terms, "disinterest" - and that gives me more cultural capital than you".
The thing is for those us who live in the market area, it's there, handy, swank enough to impress your guest(s) and an easy walk to and from just about anywhere you reside in the market.
On the whole, my take on it.......so-so.
We went on a quiet Wednesday evening and there was no one in the restaurant. They made us Bruschetta after we asked but we found the menu was really limited for those who are lactose intolerant - and was different to what we viewed online. The wine menu was ridiculously expensive. There are many more Italian restaurants in Toronto which are much better!
Amazing experience. Food, service and ambience are above the rest.
Good friends. Showed them a special place
perfect restaurant, friendly people wonderful food
Wonderful!- Love it. Worth every penny. Want a great meal? You pay for the best... You won't be sorry! It will become your favorite!
As a guest of Biaggio when I'm in town over 25 years, it never loses its charm - wonderful ambiance; fabulous food; superior service! This is one of Toronto's most prized possessions- thank you!
We randomly selected Biagio in our visit to the Toronto area for our date night... This was absolutely a wonderful find... We had a wonderful time at the restaurant, the waiter select our dishes, and WOW... Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly, wine pairs were perfect... One dish was a fresh pasta dish, short noodles that were thicker than a traditional spaghetti noodle and a ragu sauce that was out of this world... I highly recommend this restaurant to any visiting Toronto.
Great atmosphere and amazing food. Service is impeccable and the wine list extensive. Looking forward to returning soon.
I e-mailed Biagio as I was pretty unimpressed with how they handled the very unexpected cancellation of my dinner reservation. Never heard back. Needless to say I would not go there and would never recommend this place
We made a reservation with Open Table, got to the restaurant but it was closed. Will never use open table again
Went on Valentines Day with my wife based on the high reviews on Open Table. Overall the night was a disappointment.
First impressions are always important and ours was very poor. We walked in and we're greeted by no one. I don't believe there was a host on for the night. We waited for about a minute before a server checking the reservation looked at us and greeted us with a "yes?". So we told him we had a reservation (which he found) and we were then told to go hang our coats up as he pointed to the coat racks. A little taken aback as most fine dining restaurants will offer to take your coats.
The building has the old world charm and was very beautiful. After being seated we were greeted by a kind old gentleman who would be our server for the night. Unfortunately he was very forgetful throughout the night starting with forgetting to take our order for 20 minutes. He apologized as he thought he had taken it.
Overall food was nice but not spectacular. Apps were good as we had the Lobster Bisque and carpaccio. We would have expected a little more flavour and substance to the pasta dishes we had for the price. I had the tagliolini and my wife had the orecchiette. Definitely just average in our opinion. Dessert was very nice as we shared a tiramisu while sipping on a cappuccino and Irish coffee.
Wait times for getting our food and between courses was a little long for our liking. Total dining time for a three course meal was 2 hrs 15 min.
For us we won't be back as it just didn't make a high enough impression to justify us returning over some of our favourite restaurants.
Excellent and authentic Italian cuisine and excellent service
A selection of good Canadian wines.
Service and food are great. I try to go at every visit in Toronto.
Lovely restaurant. Beautiful room with white linens. Very quiet so you could actually have a conversation and hear the person talking to you. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The food was exceptional and authentic. Just a short distance from the Sony Centre and great for pre or post theatre dinner. Would definitely go back. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Dinner was exceptional, as always. New Year's Eve dinner menu was excellent choice and great value. Thank you to Biagio himself for attention to detail and for making our evening special!! Thanks to him m team of professionals for creating a lovely meal and wonderful ambiance for our enjoyment. Loved it...as usual!!
The food was great and our server was very nice!
It was just a bit too quiet for a group of gals trying to have a fun night out.
That being said, it wasn't their fault, we just shouldn't have picked such a quiet and bring Restaurant.
Also, a little bit expensive for Italian, in my opinion!
Always a delight to spend a few hours at Biagio. The food is outstanding, the service prompt and unassuming. Toronto had loads of Italian restaurants but none to match Biagio
Our waiter didn't seem to care for us. Didn't tell us about the specials. Made us feel uncomfortable. We left and took our coffee elsewhere.
The very best in the GTA!
Excellent meal. Excellent Service. Ist Class restaurant . Would recommend Biagios for a great evening.
The restaurant is in a beautiful old building; makes for a nice ambience. The waiter was fantastic -- from Sicily, Italy. & great service. The food was delicious. Definitely try the veal medallions. So tender . We'd definitely go again when in Toronto.
Delicious food and exceptional service. Very impressed!
Great Italian ambiance. Loved being serve by matures individuals dresses in suit pants, white shirts and vests. It gave a certain ambiance to the evening.
Very friendly, knowledgable staff giving a true Italian dining atmosphere - always love it. Try the lobster bisk and the lobster pasta is the ultimate.
We recently hosted a most memorable evening at Biagio for a group of special friends. We often dine there - it is a first choice for business, dinner with friends, or a special evening for two! Fabulous food, attentive service, and great ambiance - it is never loud, so perfect for conversation! Our highest recommendation.
I was so disappointed that the patio was out of commission. Their patio is amazing.
