Biaggi's in Champaign, Illinois offers a menu full of Italian cuisine which includes pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads and more. Each menu item is made to order and prepared with the freshest ingredients available. Biaggi's in Champaign has a full bar which features wine, beer and spirits both domestic and imported.
Try the smoked chicken salad to start out your meal at Biaggi's in Champaign or order an appetizer to share like the jumbo lump crab cakes or the fried calamari. Order a large pizza to share with the group or try the shrimp scampi pasta. The restaurant also has a gluten-sensitive menu as well as plenty of vegetarian items.
Planned a special Graduation from U of Illinois celebration a month in advance. Reservation for 8 @ 8:00pm. We were not seated until 8:45pm. Some lame excuse about overflow as the patio heaters were not working and it was cold outside. So they prioritized the outside dinners over the inside dinners. Result was delayed seating, overly crowded, and very noisy dining room. Food was good and pricing was reasonable but this was not enough to overcome the negatives listed above.
Because of a new waitress and her lack of knowledge, she didn't know the menu or basic bar drinks - it ruined the whole experience. Very inexperienced.she was in no way ready to be on her own. Poor service. Was our first time there. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!.
I was quite surprised to find a number of options on the gluten free menu. Make sure to ask for their gluten free bread to enjoy with the dipping sauce on your table. It is AMAZING.
Excellent time - they treated us well. Reuben was a great server!
I have just been to venture into the world of gluten free food. Biaggis made it very easy and comfortable for me. The staff was very knowledgeable and the gf food was amazing. This WILL BE somewhere we frequent for dinner out now!
The Farfalle Alfredo was delicious!
Less check in's here for me--according to Swarm/FourSquare I have been here more than 125 times, with the majority of those experiences being very good.
Thanks for a good run. FACTS: I started coming here in 1999 when it opened. This was after making several trips from Champaign to the Bloomington location--Good Times and Great Food with Friends...the business was built on the ethic of solid food and exceptional service. I personally knew most of the 'opening' management staff in Champaign....and I am still connected with several of them. Things have changed and not for the better!
On a regular basis I eat here 2-3 times a week. Yes, that is a lot. But, in the past I have appreciated the convenience and location to work. No more passing over the the lack of constancy with food and service. This evening we were served cold/warm soup, cold pasta, cold under cooked vegetables (that the manager calmed was due to a menu change). With tonight's experience I doubt I will ever go back.
Cold food, under cooked food, and an arrogant manager. No Thanks.
Great food and great service. The filet was excellent and cooked perfectly to my liking - medium rare. Although the restaurant was busy, the waitstaff was extremely attentive. Definitely a great spot for a date.
Biaggi's serves good food consistently meal after meal. Its only drawback is that it it is excessively noisy. So, weather permitting, eating outside is the best option if you want to talk with the other members of your party.
I have been to Biaggi's many times and usually have great service. The server on this visit did not keep our drinks filled and didn't check back at all. We had to ask for our check.
With two managers walking around it was astounding to me that my husband's order came out wrong, I never got my drink, others at our table never got drink refills, and the after dinner coffee was cold! At Biaggis?! Something is going on there...
We had a new waitress and she was great! She went above and beyond to be accomadating and even tho my husband guzzles tea and most servers can not keep up she did great! The food which i was so excited about left something to be desired. The gluten free bread was awesome but the salads, the sauce on the pasta and the pork chops and lobster were very far under par. The cost was reasonable thnk goodness due to the lack of flavor!
The food at Biaggi's is excellent. The service is superb. This is a great place to enjoy a fine meal with family & friends.
This place has a nice dinning room, cool be warmer but it classie restaurant
Great service from the time we arrived. Reservation from out of town thru open table worked great. Seated right away and treated with care the whole time. Everyone's meal was delicious. Conversations challenged by noise level, but overall experience was excellent.
I'm some kind of snob who hates chains and rarely goes out to eat. I figure I can cook something just as good, if not better, at home for cheaper. I was skeptical about this being a chain restaurant. We were highly impressed; the sea scallops were huge and perfectly cooked. Attentive wait staff. Calamari appetizer with garlic-y "Italian salsa" was incredible. Probably not a good place for young kids, which is fine! Overall a great experience.
Amazing gluten free pizza! I had mushroom and loved it. Lots of other GF voices too.
There were 4 of us and all of our main meals came out at the same time and piping hot. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Have eaten at Biaggi's before and will be going back to this one next year.
Biaggi's consistently has the best wait staff. Apparently management is quite particular and thorough in their interview and selection process - it really shows in the service and friendly attitude.
Arrived 10 min early on a Monday night and many tables were available, but they wouldn't seat us because they said they were understaffed. I waited at the bar for 15 minutes, but no one came to take an order before we were finally seated. They put us next to a large group so I asked to move to a quieter area on the perimeter since my husband wears hearing aids. No servers there, so we were stuck. From then on, we had a very attentive and friendly waiter. He was the saving grace of the experience. The food was reasonable and the portions quite large. I liked our waiter, but they need more compelling reasons to return.
We've visited Biaggi's a few times when in town for university activities. The service has always been excellent, and this past graduation weekend was no exception, despite being fully booked all weekend. We thought that all the staff were well trained and coordinated in seeing to our needs. The food is also very good. You can even bring your own bottle of wine, with no corkage fee (as long as the same product is not on their wine list). But they do have a nice selection of both affordable and premium choices on their wine list. Recommended!
Very average in every aspect except for service. Our waiter was great but every other staff member we encountered was exceptionally rude. The room was extremely loud as well.
We went to Biaggis for Mothers Day. We had a party of 4. They were packed at the first sitting at 11:00am. We were seated by 11:15am and our server was apologetic for our wait. He was very attentive and made us feel at home. The Monk Fish and Cannoloni was excellent and we would definitely recommend to our friends.
Great dining experience overall but the noise level was deafening. Even eating in the bar area we could barely carry on a conversation. Something really does need to be done about that as many have complained and sometimes make other choices of restaurants because of the noise level. Everything else was good.
The only annoying thing about our dinner was the noise level. We had to speak very loudly to hear one another. Not exactly great conditions for an evening out.
Disappointed in the new menu...higher prices but still no return of good Italian ie Italian beef sandwiches. Poor sandwich quality and selection. What made the hamburger worth $13..nothing. Please bring back carpaccio also. It was the best. Wines just got pricier and not better selections
Great experience. Food and service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this for a nice evening out.
Noise level was a bit high.
A little over priced.
The experiences we've had at Biaggi's have varied. This dinner wasn't one of the really good ones. My filet mignon was not medium rare nor really tender. The restaurant was very busy so our friendly waiter would disappear for long periods of time. The noise level was past hearing our dining companions' conversation. The other diners enjoyed their orders and the coffee was excellent though refilled only once. They commented on the very good cannelloni and lasagna, perhaps better choices at an Italian restaurant.
Biaggi has changed its menu. In addition to the more Italian seafood and bruschetta and ravioli, they have added steak. And maybe they changed their chef as well because the same items that used to be on the menu now have lost their flavor.
We used to love the bacon and dates appetizer here. It had a sharp vinegar and honey taste. But now the taste is gone. It's mostly bland. And without the vinegar, bacon is too rich and oily.
Same thing happened to their signature pastas. The Capellini di mare has become bland and the squids were under-cooked and watery. It's the first time Biaggi's been disappointing, and we've been there dozens of times.
We've been to Biaggi's quite a few times in Bloomington, but have been to the Champaign location 3 times this past week.
We attended Ebertfest and needed a place to hang out between shows - love their extensive menu including the fried ravioli and calimari appetizers. My wife is addicted to the beet salad and tomato soup - and I've enjoyed about everything I've ordered.
Don't eat too much of the fresh bread with "Biaggi butter" (olive oil, parmesan cheese, pepper)... you'll enjoy it but won't have room for your meal.
You won't go wrong at Biaggi's.
