One of the city’s preeminent Indian chefs and restaurateurs, Gaurav Anand of Awadh and Moti Mahal Delux has completely revamped and renovated Bhatti just in time to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. Perennially packed and attracting celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Food Network’s Duff Goldman, Bhatti became a popular dining destination due to its delicious, boldly-flavored food, especially kebabs. For its 10th anniversary, Gaurav wanted the restaurant that set him on a successful restaurant career to get a sexier new look, more elevated menu and an adventurous beverage program including an all natural wine list, befitting the next decade.
Great food service. Appropriate portions. Food was amazing.
We've been to Bhatti twice. The first time was a few years ago and it was great. This time around, nowhere near as good.
There wasn't enough staff to handle the tables. We waited a while for our orders to be taken, and when they were, it was not done in the friendly type of manner you'd expect. White wine was just put on the table and not in anything to keep it cool.
Also noticed that there were a number of orders going out to delivery services making service to the tables slower than it should have been.
My first time having Indian and it was amazing they were able to allow my boyfriend and I to enjoy our meal even though they were suppose to close no rush or anything. Would definitely go back
I love this restaurant. I come here quite often and even order from them . Only bad part was that we made reservations and they still had us sit right in front of the door and it was freezing
Excellent food!!!
Great tasting food. A little wait for 1 dish.
A small drinks menu, therefore not much choice however as a result the prices are low compared to elsewhere in the city.
Our friend wanted a Vindaloo, not in the menu. But all food was very tasty and we enjoyed it.
Small venue, therefore when full, the acoustics can be noisy. Would definitely go back.
Amazing local Indian fare. It’s delicious every time and the small space makes the experience feel very authentic. Never disappointed.
My date and I had an amazing time. We had a reservation but were late. Even though we were late we were seated within 15 minutes. The food was delicious as well.
Chef was different - food tasted bad. More effort needs to be made to keep the taste of the dishes consistent
Absolutely fantastic, go here for some of the best Indian food in New York. Consistently good, the kebabs and tikkas are unparalleled.
Our go-to place. Delicious, fresh, increasingly difficult to book a table, newly redecorated, and favorite place for Indian food in the city.
Great Indian food at a reasonable price. the atmosphere is quiet and very nice. None of the dishes we had were less than delicious. A word of warning: the food is pretty spicy so beware. Also, no beer on tap - only bottles.
Was decent, but not as good as I had hoped. The service was ok. One table almost walked out without paying as they asked and waited 20 minutes for their check. Not an issue for us, but just mediocre service.
The food was okay- small portions - but the crush of uber eats delivery people coming and going continuously - was a real buzz kill. They need to sort out a separate pick up entrance for take out. Wouldn’t go back.
Outside door consistently open leading to a cold room.
Service basically inattentive.
Food good but not outstanding, and as there are many Indian restaurants in NYC, this one dies does not merit a special visit.
Really good food
Legit authentic Indian food. I travel 100% for work, I eat out a lot. Fabulous meal.
Service was mediocre, waitstaff seemed uninterested in our table. Food was very tasty and creative.
The food, price and ambiance was good. They don’t have a corkage fee so we were able to bring our own wine which was nice. Very busy on a week night, definitely need a reservation, place is small.
The service could not have been worse. The food was pretty good but did not overcome the lack of competent service.
Inspite of reservation, our table was in a very congested location wherein other tables were available.
Excellent food and service. The restaurant is very pretty as well.
Nicely decorated in chrome, grey and black. Started with one of the kabob apps, which was a creative dish. Then we shared a vegetarian paneer curry. Paneer cubes had lots of flavor, not just texture, as did the mild tomato cream sauce it was cooked in, especially for a vegetarian dish. Garlic naan was a good choice, also. A little pricey for the area, but also nicer atmosphere and service.
We had a reservation for two, and arrived on time. Announced ourselves and reservation and were asked to wait, in a tone that suggested annoyance. When seated we ordered a bottle of wine. It was delivered, already uncorked, and left on the table, unserved. A group of eight diners waiting to be seated were gathered outside the door of the restaurant. They included an active cigarette smoker, whose tobacco aroma wafted past every time the door was opened. Management was non-responsive to our request that the smoker be asked to step away from the door. Dilli Ka Butter Chicken was much spicier than typical Butter Chicken, and unappetizing to my companion though I had a taste and liked it. Be aware of the extra spice. I enjoyed my lamb Rogan Josh. Rice was well prepared, tasty and fluffy. Lacha paratha was soggy. Wine was an undistinguished Spanish Sauvignon Blanc. Photo of restaurant posted by owner on OpenTable is out-of-date.
Food and service were both good but, drink service was below par. Many people serving wine & beer by the glass and all was served warm.
Careful they don’t serve you warm wine.
Restaurant had me wait about 10 minutes past reservation time even when my whole party was accounted for.
Great food great staff nice resturant . Go here atleast 2 times a month
The food is typically very good. They redecorated with a gaudy gold and black motif that wasn’t to our liking. We will return despite the ambiance downgrade. The service is pretty rough but the terrific spice makes up for it.
Great service and food
I traveled from Scottsdale, AZ just to go to this restaurant! Worth it🤠🌵✈️
Been there many times, great food as always. Big portions
Best Indian restaurant in Manhattan. Great service, consistent menu and super nice staff.
The food and service has gone down over the years.
Food is always great here !
Exceptional food. I have eaten at many restaurants in NY but this one tops it. The menu selection and quality were outstanding. Must visit when in NYC.
This is the best north indian food in NYC .Nobody cant beat this.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for 6 years so I have a long history here. It is now “renovated” in black and gold motif (ugh) with all new servers. The service was terrible (asking us if we’re ready to order even before taking our drink order). The food was as good as ever but the experience was nothing like it was pre-renovation and pre-new wait staff. Will need to find a new favorite Indian place in the neighborhood.
Most of the food was delicious. I didn't, however, like their signature beef kabab. Service was ok but unfriendly. The noise level was ridiculously high.
We were visiting from the UK and had a craving for Indian food. We were not disappointed. The food and service were outstanding. Everything was fresh and vibrant and each of the dishes we tried were so different in flavour. Will definitely be visiting them again when we next come to NY
