About Bhatti Indian Grill
Bhatti is an ultra-authentic north Indian restaurant in the heart of New York City that’s refined yet affordable, upscale and still comfortable. Take your pick from a variety of kebabs and curries and watch as our master chefs work their magic at the Bhatti.
Bhatti’s mastermind is Gaurav Anand, who on his first trip to the Big Apple realized that he would have to act on bigger aspirations to make his dream come true. It was with this passion and his extensive knowledge of North Indian cuisine that he decided to open Bhatti Indian Grill in August 2009.
Kebabs are the specialty of the house and they’re anything but typical. The signature dish is Gilauti Kebab, which is steeped in history, originating in the province of Lucknow as a royal meal for a king who had lost his teeth in old age. Anand is one of the few chefs to have learned the secrets to the recipe. The final product lives up to the legend- the rounds of lamb really do melt in your mouth like butter.

Bhatti Indian Grill Ratings and Reviews
Food is always great at Bhatti.
Service have to be better. Guys I am waiter in NYC my self. If you see empty glass of water fill it up. When you empty plate on table ask to may remove it away. If you see empty glasses of wine or any drink served ask if they costumers need another drink or remove the empty glass. At the end of meal clean the table. That is NYC standard service. Not you fooling around and excepting 20% for tips, you deserve nothing on tips $7.50 restourant pay you for a hour that may be enough for your work you do. Why people have to pay you for. Take your job seriously otherwise if you don't like it to do it, go do something else.
I am surprised such great restaurant such as Bhatti should raise service standards. Costumers fist. I have been few times at Bhatti, old servers are good, new servers have to be taught to do good job, and to deserve there tips.
When I come next time at Bhatti, I hope see some service improvement .
Food was well prepared and cooked well The food was palatable however the portions were small and were left with fair amount of hunger at the bill paying time
Service was good inspite of the Redtaurant almost full
The manager said the kitchen is small when we requested masala tea without milk They make only one pot of tea with milk
Naan was fair , lacha paratha was excellent and lemon rice was exceedingly delicious
This was a lucky find a couple of years ago. This was our 4th trip here. The food was really tasty as in the past. The one major negative was the noise level. It is a small space with no sound absorbing material anywhere. There was one table of 3 young women and 2 young men who were unbelievably loud. None of the staff asked them to tone it down though I asked several times. I would still recommend this restaurant for the food - delicious!
After reading some Open Table reviews I was expecting a very noisy, crowded restaurant with okay service. The restaurant, while small is charming and well organized. The service was very good and the wait staff attentive and caring. The waiter answered all our questions. Oddly, they did not have tea and the beer selection is limited. They also dropped the check on the table in the middle of dessert before we asked for it.
The food is really good, the portions very fair for the price point. The Dal and Lamb we had were both outstanding as were the kabobs, nan and the ice cream.
I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.
THe food was delicious and there was a wide number of choices. The service could have been improved. We had made a reservation for 8:00 pm and had to wait 15 minutes which I guess can be expected although it seemed that they seated a group in front of us who did not have a reservation which was iratating. The food came piece meal instead of all at once. After dinner we were brought dessert menus but then out waited disappeared so we didn;t order dessert and had to walk to the back to find someone who would take out payment. So overall food was great. Service a bit lacking. It is a small place so the noise level is quite loud. If you are looking for a quiet place for conversation this is not it but I'd you are looking for good food and energy you will enjoy.
Something off about food. Did not enjoy them, except for the lamb appetizer, which was good. This place used to be good, really good, so I am extremely disappointed, especially since it cost close to $100 for 2, and we only had 2 beers for drink :-( The server kind of decided the orders by taking a very strong lead without really answering my question. Main dishes came fast - Please watch our appetizer speed. Hate rushing the appetizers and reorganizing the table because you made our main dishes without respecting our dining pattern.
The space is small & hot for summer dining. Food was traditional and Fantastic! Excellent prices and really tasty. Limited wine list but every bottle is also available by the glass, which is cool 👍🏼 Overall, I will be back to Bhatti in the Fall-Winter-Spring and frequent the other 3 locations that Chef Anand owns and operates here in NYC during the summer 😎
The restaurant was fairly busy for early on a Monday night. I took that as a good sign since I had never dined here before. The seating and ambiance was okay - a little above the standard for Indian restaurants in the area. Mason jars for water glasses felt a bit odd. The food was very tasty and well prepared. Some different choices were a pleasant surprise. The biggest complaint I had was with the Maitre'd or waiter (not sure what his role was). The man was rude and took away our menus to give to the table next to us. Then aggressively kept asking if we were ready to order - hello, no menus!!! Next he removed the dining utensils for my guest. It took three requests after the food had been served to finally get a knife and fork! The place was not THAT busy! I would recommend Bhatti for the food, if you want fast brusk service in a semi-comfortable setting.
