I have been to Bhatti many times and have always loved the food and the experience. This time was different, new front staff were not organized regarding table management, were not attentive and were not helpful to us and other customers I observed. It was painful and very disappointing. Time to find a new go-to Indian restaurant.
Compliments to the kitchen staff though as the food was still good.
Service was nice but not very helpful; we were told an order of naan was four pieces, then only one came, then we were told that it was supposed to be sliced into 4. Not very helpful, since we had to order more, AND the bread arrived after everything else.
The wine pour was very generous, and the dishes very tasty. It was a little noisier than expected but that is the risk in Curry Hill.
Will return, but not too soon.
Mixed grill were delicious. Saag Paneer was equally good and the chaat was a great starter. Ras Malai was yummy to finish the meal with. Great meal, as always!
The food is fantastic and the service is thoughtful, helpful, and pleasant. Be sure to make a reservation because it gets crowded. There's also no waiting area or bar inside so plan accordingly.
One of the best Indian restaurants in NYC. Consistently good food with a comfortable atmosphere.
Although the service was a little slow, probably because the restaurant was full and the waiter staff seemed overwhelmed, the food quality was excellent, overshadowing the delay. The Rogan Josh and chicken tikka were excellent and sublimely spiced. The goat curry equally delectable. Tha sag paneer could have used a bit more cheese. The cost was very reasonable for a local Indian restaurant.
Wonderful spice in every dish with high quality ingredients make this Indian classic a best bet among hundreds of mediocre alternatives. Kebabs are fantastic.
Really fresh, well-prepared tandoori and kebabs. Great for meat eaters and vegetarians. Only 3 selections for vegans, but all delicious. No liquor license, so they focus on the food.
Panner Tikka Masala was outstanding... Mist recommended
Excellent food and very lousy service. There was a time when this was a very good establishment. now it is too busy and service has completely gone to hell.
We will not be visiting it again.
Amazing amazing Indian cuisine! Bhatti cooking means tenderest meats and fish. Seasoning is exquisite and subtle, ingredients top notch!
Pretty place. Welcoming staff.
Food was spicey but delicious.
Easy to share the dishes.
Serving spoons came with each dish. Not all places do that.
We enjoyed the meal and will return.
Food prepared with more finesse and attention than at other Indian places in that neighborhood. Service couldn’t have been worse. We only got part of our order. No one ever came by our table. We had to flag down passing staff the whole evening, even when they emptied out.
The entree was tasteless and got sent back. They tried fixing but it failed. This was a major let down as I have visited the restaurant multiple times before and have had a good experience. Not sure why the restaurant didn't bother to fix the situation.
Didnt find the food to be that flavorful to be honest. The Karahi Chicken didnt appear to have any salt in it. The Sheekh kebabs were OK, seemed like good quality meat but again just didnt have that much flavour.
I did like the mixed grill that came with chicken apps 3 ways and a lamb chop.
Would I come here again...yes probably give it a second chance.
We had a good dinner here - We let the waiter choose his favorites for us. The food was good, reasonably priced for NYC
Fast quick service. Food was good. The staff was helpful and accommodating.
A nice meal which was served relatively quickly. Lighting is low so some may find reading the menu tricky !
Very good food, stellar and unobtrusive service!
Excellent food, service and price but you will have to wait for your table even if you made reservation cause the place is really small but I’ll definitely come back.
The best restaurant in NY.
The food here is delicious ... I forget sometimes who good it is. And have to be reminded every so often. Dinner or lunch, you will have a pleasant experience.
Highly recommend this place
Don’t judge a restaurant by its looks :)
Great food great service
Food was terrific, service not so much.
Great food as usual! Worth the 5 hour flight from Scottsdale , AZ!
So glad my mother and I stumbled upon this small restaurant. We noticed it had a couple tables on a monday night so it must be good, and it definitely was. Service was good, Menu had lots of options, my favorite is Saag Paneer. Will be back!
Good food, at a good price.
Portions could be a little bigger.
Food is always great at Bhatti.
Service have to be better. Guys I am waiter in NYC my self. If you see empty glass of water fill it up. When you empty plate on table ask to may remove it away. If you see empty glasses of wine or any drink served ask if they costumers need another drink or remove the empty glass. At the end of meal clean the table. That is NYC standard service. Not you fooling around and excepting 20% for tips, you deserve nothing on tips $7.50 restourant pay you for a hour that may be enough for your work you do. Why people have to pay you for. Take your job seriously otherwise if you don't like it to do it, go do something else.
I am surprised such great restaurant such as Bhatti should raise service standards. Costumers fist. I have been few times at Bhatti, old servers are good, new servers have to be taught to do good job, and to deserve there tips.
When I come next time at Bhatti, I hope see some service improvement .
My first time here. Food was excellent and was BYOB.
A go-to for top notch North Indian
Delicious! Can't wait to go back. Reasonably priced.
Great time ! Good food great service
The waiters are all great. They help with choosing food combining wine
The food is delicious and the people who work there are so accommodating. IMHO BEST Indian cuisine in the neighborhood.
Great restaurant for authentic Indian food! I just find it a bit too dark inside, but that's just a personal preference
Had to wait a bit for our table. Ambiance was okay. Food was good but nothing stood out.
Food was well prepared and cooked well The food was palatable however the portions were small and were left with fair amount of hunger at the bill paying time
Service was good inspite of the Redtaurant almost full
The manager said the kitchen is small when we requested masala tea without milk They make only one pot of tea with milk
Naan was fair , lacha paratha was excellent and lemon rice was exceedingly delicious
One of the better Indian restaurants in this area. Most of the food was delicious. Atypical menu.
This was a lucky find a couple of years ago. This was our 4th trip here. The food was really tasty as in the past. The one major negative was the noise level. It is a small space with no sound absorbing material anywhere. There was one table of 3 young women and 2 young men who were unbelievably loud. None of the staff asked them to tone it down though I asked several times. I would still recommend this restaurant for the food - delicious!
After reading some Open Table reviews I was expecting a very noisy, crowded restaurant with okay service. The restaurant, while small is charming and well organized. The service was very good and the wait staff attentive and caring. The waiter answered all our questions. Oddly, they did not have tea and the beer selection is limited. They also dropped the check on the table in the middle of dessert before we asked for it.
The food is really good, the portions very fair for the price point. The Dal and Lamb we had were both outstanding as were the kabobs, nan and the ice cream.
I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.
Authentischer Indian Food. Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wir waren zu fünft unterwegs und nicht alle mögen es spicy. Das Personal hat uns entsprechend die richtigen Gerichte empfohlen. Tolles Erlebnis.
