About BG - Bergdorf Goodman
Sophistication on the Seventh Floor of Bergdorf Goodman with afternoon into evening Central Park views. BG is a modern interpretation of the aristocratic social salon. Like a Park Avenue residence from the age of cosmopolitan glamour. Well-appointed and bright, the drawing room atmosphere is an intimate conversational setting for lunch, tea and early supper or cocktails. The light and sparkling menu is a modern take on classic New York fare.

BG - Bergdorf Goodman Ratings and Reviews
Only complaint was the 45 minute wait to be seated for a 1pm reservation....yes, we wanted a window table, but even those who were willing to take any table were waiting much too long past their reservation time. It was a chaotic system. One party sat at their table for 25 minutes AFTER they paid their bill chatting and checking their phones. The waiter should have checked on them once in awhile to give them the idea that others were waiting. It is a place where people linger so the reservation timing should reflect that. Too many reservation too close together. Otherwise a lovely spot with nice food selection and atmosphere. Definitely a place for "ladies who lunch" and men who don't mind being outnumbered.
We had the afternoon tea and thankfully we had made reservations because the tea was sold out for walk-ins by the time we arrived and the general dining room had an hour wait. We got a great table in the back corner which kept us away from the bustle of the space and let us really enjoy our time with the tea and food.
Our waiter was wonderful, very prompt but gave us space throughout the meal without hovering. Other than an undersalted egg salad sandwich, the tea accompaniments were delicious and the tea selection was thorough with everything from classic black tea flavors to lighter green teas. Great for an afternoon pick-me-up or a special occasion.
This was my husband and I second visit. We were an hr late from our reservation ( we called and let them know we were coming late) for high tea due to parking issue and yet when we came in they still have table for us reserved by the window. We came exactly at 5 pm and the manager told us by the door they'll still served afternoon tea but when we sat down on our table the waiter said it was sold out already. It was fine for me because their other food were still good. Then the manager told our waiter that they had afternoon tea reserved for us so we were happy campers. Always a good experience from the staff. Will definite come back again and again.
We’ve been to a few high tea’s on our travels so decided to give this one a go. We had heard about the lovely view, however we were not sat anywhere near a window so can not comment. Food was ok, probably wouldn’t return. Possibly more enjoyable for someone older. Definitely wasn’t an ‘experience’.
Dined with my 8 year-old daughter for afternoon tea during our annual trip to NYC together. Excellent and attentive service, friendly and accommodating host and hostess, table ready immediately near a window as I requested. As we were dining near the end of Tea arrive, I’m assuming all Tea sandwiches and other treats were made and plated hours before, as the bread was dry. The selection was fairly typical (but did include macarons—my daughter’s favorite!), with the dessert pastries a bit disappointing in flavor. My daughter’s hot chocolate and my tea selection were tasty. Not our favorite “high tea” experience in NYC thus far, but certainly not bad.
We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant inside the city's toniest department store. However, we hadn't realized that we would keep the staff working late as our dinner extended past the store's operating hours. So dinner might not be the best meal to have here -- lunch would be a better bet, and less of an imposition on the employees.
While I visit the restaurant at least once whenever I visit the city, I wanted to host a group of business colleagues while we were in Manhattan for work. It was a first visit to the city for some. A diverse assortment of entrees were ordered by all, and everyone was beyond satisfied with their selections.. Thank you "BG" for accommodating a party larger than you usually allow.
We had afternoon tea. The food was delicious and our waitress was friendly but the service was slow. Noise level was too high for what was to be an elegant experience. The carpet was filthy and the ladies room was not clean and few stalls had enough toilet tissue. Very disappointing experience!
Stepping into BG for lunch you are immediately invited to relax after a tough morning of shopping. The ambience is old NY style with a touch of romanticism and refined vintage. Tarik, our server, provided excellent service from start to finish. He was welcoming, professional and kind. For our girl's lunch, it was the perfect setting (especially with views overlooking Central Park) to catch up, slow down and enjoy sumptuous wine and food. Standout menu items were the burrata, tuna tartare, roasted chicken and pappardelle. We were celebrating an engagement and the "house" offered us a free dessert. We were all happy ladies who lunch.
My daughter and I did afternoon tea at BG . However I was disappointed with the quality and selection of tea sandwiches . The bread was cold and although most of them tasted great I was not impressed. There are many other great options for food in NYC . Also the seating was not very desirable as we sat close to two other couples . The waiter was pleasant and courteous. This would be a great place to grab a bite only if you’re shopping at BG . Otherwise there are other fine restaurants to explore .
Lovely room and great view up 5th Ave and Central Par. Service is professional, friendly and with some delightful "personality". Cobb salad was a little bland, and requested more dressing for the Asian salad (but better underdressed than overdressed). Reservations are a must.
