Food was amazing! Beautiful views! Would definitely go back!
Absolutely wonderful experience! Impeccable service and the food was delicious! Such a treat!
Uncooked fish (sea bass) had to be returned. Husband practically finished his meal by time new one came and it too was not fully cooked through. My fish meal was comped but the point is it was an anniversary celebration for us, which they knew about (had been informed). My husband’s Gotham salad looked and tasted awful. If I’d got it at a fast food restaurant I’d still be disappointed. I don’t know why it’s meant to be a signature dish. Pathetic. The waiter had a habit of asking us how things were right as we placed something in our mouth and waited while we gulped it down in order to answer. That’s pretty clumsy, inept, and shows a lack of training and empathy. Still, I think he was mortified at the fish debacle. He brought us two glasses of champagne without asking if we would even like that. Well guess what - we do not drink. Would have been nicer to ask is what we might like, rather than assume alcohol appeases everyone. Whole experience was a clumsy shambles. And we have frequented them many times before with all good experiences. Must be going downhill for so many things to be wrong. Won’t be returning. And folks, don’t waste your money on the Gotham salad - go to choot instead. It will taste better and look better for 1/2 the price. Ambiance only goes so far. A picture of the Gotham salad attached. Just a chopped up, unappetising mess in my opinion.
Lovely setting to get together for a special occasion
We went to BG for tea and it was fantastic! The room, the view and the food were great, but our server gracious, attentive, and funny. He really made the afternoon special.
Birthday celebration and lovely space.
First trip to BG. They were accommodating, sat us early and allowed us a window seat. Scott was an AMAZING server and added to the Begdorf experience. Drinks were tasty, food was great. The host did the best to his ability, unfortunately the host stand was crowded and a complete kurfufal! The green chairs with The BG insignia were dingy. Overall, good experience.
We were early for The reservation was early and they accommodated us— which is always great. The food was delicious and the service was extremely attentive
Noise level was extremely high for lunch.
Service by our waiter stellar- gold star
High Tea! Terrific
Our favorites restaurant, and our waiter Jeffrey was outstanding!
The salad was a sort of summer salad but was not very good. However, the entrees, the salmon and the
barised short ribs were excellent. The service was very attentive!
What a wonderful experience we had at afternoon tea. It was a great experience. I’d highly recommend it.
Table beside us was really loud. Food excellent as always. Such a wonderful place to celebrate the holidays!
It was very busy which is to be expected during the Holidays. We had a reservation for 2 for Afternoon Tea. Did not mind that we had to wait, but diners with no reservation were seated ahead of us. The tables were so close together that we had to stand up and move our table twice during our tea to let others in and out next to us. Bread on our sandwiches was very dry.
Our waiter Scott was the best! We had a fantastic time. The chicken salad was delicious
A delight to visit and be immersed in a lively, special atmosphere where we indulged in delicious treats overlooking Centrel Park. A perfect end to our trip in New york.
We had the afternoon tea.... I guess my expectations are high since I have had afternoon tea in London. They were crazy packed. We had to wait 20mins to be seated despite reservations. No one offered to take our coats despite other patrons were asked right beside us.There were total of 5 in my party. We each purchased the high tea at 49.00 a piece. However the portion we received was like for a party of 2. Tea in London is plentiful for reference. One sandwich a piece for each kind : cucumber, egg, cold cut, salmon, and truffle chicken sandwich. There were some sweets: macaroon, sugar cookies shaped like a leaf and Turkey- mind u its December so these cookies were essentially left overs from the Thanksgiving, lemon tart, coffee chocolate cake, and scones. Again one sweet per person was brought on the server. The sweets weren't that memorable. Highlight I can say was the tea choices...we each flavored a different tea. Versailles and Rooibos are winners fyi. The waiter was cordial but not overly helpful. Hindsight I know why ... just keep reading the review.Would I do it again? Hmmm probably no because it was RIP off for 300.00. Yes 300.00 because you have an automatic gratuity fee for parties of 5 and more. We were 5. The view of central park was ok...imagine maybe in the spring it would be better. Really just trees could be seen from our spot. So if you do go... reconsider if you are thinking afternoon tea was something to mark off your to do list there. Try another dish on the menu instead of gaining an expensive lack luster experience.
Always spot on. They don’t miss a beat. Food, service and atmosphere are always top-notch. Love going here for special occasions and high tea at the holidays. Highly recommend!
Never would have expected at BG....a drunk man got into argument with another couple. He was wrong and finally left. I feel sorry for the couple. This interaction was very uncomfortable for everyone around. I think security should have removed him immediately. Ruined our lunch....I do not fault BG for the incident but the man should have been escorted out immediately....reaction time was too slow.
A lovely dining experience. Service is excellent as is the food and ambiance! Classic NYC restuarant!
Waiter was awesome!
Yes, I would recommend the BG afternoon tea at Christmas to a friend. Despite the crowd and the noise, it was an elegant setting. Our waiter, Scott, was outstanding. Seeing the beautiful department store and its windows was a real treat for our group of Texas ladies. We found all of the staff at Bergdorf Goodman to be friendly and accommodating.
I love BG don’t get me wrong. When my mother and I arrived we thought we would wait only 5-10 minutes at most for our reservation but it ended up being 30 and half. I’m pregnant and wanted to sit down but there’s not much seating. Plus it was so crowd that day there was nowhere to walk around. It just seems that because people were not leaving their tables it delayed everything. If that’s the case then please, in the future, management needs to not have reservations be over booked for the amount of tables actually available.
Excellent food, great vibe!!!
Amazing service and delicious food. Wonderful views.
I love to come to BG everytime I'm in NYC. It never disappoints! Service is excellent and the food is wonderful! As I was looking out the windows it began to snow. It was magical.
The duck dumplings were delicious as the waiter advised. Food and service great! Nice view of Central Park. Jovial atmosphere.
Amazing afternoon tea and the service was amazing as always! I highly recommend!
The service team was exceptional, from the hosts who honored our request for the chairs by the window to Nick our outstanding server. Afternoon Tea overlooking the Park. Sensational.
My chicken truffle sandwich was phenomenal!! My friend loved her chicken salad. Food was best we ever had there.
Excellent, lovely staff, treated 3 Irish girls like queens!
We enjoyed everything!
Little jewel box. Perfect for lunch with the girls.
Amazing! A true fashion restaurant!
We went for BGs afternoon high tea. The service was excellent and the ambience is very nice. Depending on your table you may also have a view.
Would prefer more flexibility in the selection - ex an option for vegetarians or for just ordering sweets rather than sandwiches. My favorite part of high tea is the scones and there were only 2 (one for each of us).
Tea selection was narrow but wonderful! I found my new favorite tea - Nuit a Versailles - and can’t seem to find it many places online so I’ll have to go back!
Overall, going to be a great experience at a much lower price point than the Plaza or the Palace.
