Ups and downs I’m an old client of this restaurant and witness great moments and terrible moments in the performance At this time food quality and presentation is good The dessert menu was finally improved They do have a big minus Cocktails are a great disaster
You will not get the same cocktail done and presented two times and actually is not the first time that I return my cocktail Please hire a professional bartender At $ 24 a cocktail you need one
Noisy! Wait staff wasn’t friendly. Food quality for the price—pathetic. It’s a tourist trap! Never again...
If only it weren't so horribly noisy in our section! But they could not have been nicer, especially for my friend's birthday, even comp'd the dessert, which came with a little candle. And, surprise! we were able to sit at the table for 2 hours - almost unheard of any more. Just, next time, we'll opt for a room that only faces north, not east [where the ceiling is lower and there are only hard surfaces].
At dinner, Service was impeccable, the food (from a somewhat limited menu) was beautifully prepared, and the environment and views were wonderful. A not very well known star in the Manhattan world.
Great option for lunch while in New York. Plan to arrive at least an hour early to allow time to browse around this gorgeous store! Lunch was delicious! There were 4 of us so we had a variety. The roasted cauliflower is unusual and delicious. The crab cakes are some of the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend having lunch.....especially for a group of girls!
We were celebrating Mother’s Day. I have a reaction to black pepper and asked what a good option would be. The waiter told me the filet would be good. Of course I asked for no black pepper. The meal came and it smelled and looked fabulous. My daughter tasted it for me, per usual and it was loaded with black pepper as was the potatoes. So disappointed ☹️ The waiter took it off my bill but I couldn’t eat because we had another engagement and it was my Mother’s Day!!!
We were there on mothers day weekend and were extremely disappointed that the special tea was 1 teabag and not loose leaf infusion in teapot. We were told that this was a special promotion and the teabags were available for purchase. Don't use your paying customers to promote products!
I've been to BG a few times, and it never disappoints. The room is a lovely, classic oasis overlooking Central Park. The food is consistent and delicious, and the service is fantastic. If you are looking for a little escape from the hustle and bustle, and want to experience what it's like to be a "lady who lunches", go and enjoy some time at BG.
excellent service, food always good and what a view!
We had afternoon tea and everything was lovely!! The only thing I would suggest is that they guests are each given a small pot of hot water instead of one large one for the table and more than one teabag per person.
Went to high tea for my birthday. The service was spectacular and they were so accommodating. They didn’t have a whispering chair available but they got us high backed chairs that still had a view. Will be coming back!
A must stop for lunch when in NY. Great menu and the service is outstanding!
I love BG restaurant, and I’ve been there many times. They were rushing us to pay though. No one loves it when this happens
We went for afternoon tea and the tea was served in tea bags (rather than freshly brewed) and only one scone per person and it was an extra 18 dollars for more sandwiches. Not the traditional experience...great view and could be great.
It's always a very pleasant dining experience at BG. The menu, service and ambiance couldn't be nicer.
The restaurants back room is consistently loud. With wide tables, it's difficult to hear my guests speak. I love the views however, I will need to always think about the noise level before confirming another reservations.
I have already reviewed this great place. Not entirely a hidden gem , but for those who know, an elegant place with city views to have a great meal. The service is European elegance. The menu has something for everyone. And great people watching . Jeffrey our server- is a gem!
Great place for a girl date! Beautiful setting with impeccable views. Food and tea was alright - they served us tea in bags...
Even if you don’t get a window view- the experience of people watching in this sophisticated elegant dining room is worth the trip. But the service is excellent- our server Jeffrey is incredibly attentive. The menu is creative, my scallops w/ Couscous tender and flavorful. My friends Croque monsieur a nice size and excellent. The clam and corn soup was full flavored.
I miss their chicken paillard.
BG always makes me feel that I am in an Elegant New York City environment.
It was so nice to have Birthday in BG.
Delicious and fun place to eat while shopping - best
in the area!
One of my favorite lunch spots in NYC...a special treat when I visit...a hidden gem!!
Luke, our server was a delight. We attend BG cafe for our final lunch each time we depart NY at the end of our holiday. It has become a tradition. Lobster salad and champagne and we are always so well looked after, well fed and leave BG and NYC with a huge smile. Thank you for always meeting - and exceeding -our expectations on each visit.
Its unusual to find a great restaurant in a department store, but this is Bergdorf Goodman and it isn't your everyday store. The restaurant is wonderful. Great views and food. Highly recommend.
Service seemed rushed, which surprised me. Everything else was divine, as always.
The service was great, I believe our server was Jeffrey-fabulous. The group behind us was so loud we couldn't hear each other talking at a small table. Other than that, it was great.
I made a specific request and noted that we were celebrating a birthday. Besides the host that greeted us and wished the birthday girl a happy birthday the rest of the staff seemed quite rude and standoffish. There was a feeling of being rushed amongst everyone in our party and there were eye rolls from several staff members for no apparent reason. On top of that, I was taking a photo of the birthday girl when our waiter started clearing our table. I literally have a photo of his whole body in front of the birthday girl! It is common courtesy if someone is taking a photo to wait and not disrupt. I understand that all restaurants are busy and need to clear tables to make room for the next party but that is quite classless and not something I would expect from a refined establishment such as Bergdorf’s!! I have also never seen someone clear the table before the guests have stood up and left the table. The food was also bland and not worth the value that was charged. Big disappointment. Would not recommend. There are plenty of other places to have high tea or lunch in the city that have employees with manners.
I was really bummed about our experience this time. We have dined here on many occasions but it’s been about a year. The service was TERRIBLE, we sat for 10 minutes without a drop of water. The waitress wasn’t interested in refreshing any drinks after the first round....it seemed many of the staff were busy arguing. The manager seemed to pass by our table many times and didn’t offer more drinks, he seemed very distracted. The noise level is crazy loud..couldn’t hear across the table. Not sure I’ll be back and that makes me sad.
Always delicious and delightful!
Mother daughter day
BG is the place I go to when I am a feeling blue and want to be comforted by old world elegance and the most beautiful views of the most beautiful area in NYC... the park and the plaza.
The food is pricey but you can also just sit at the bar and have a drink and stare out the window
Lovely, and I consider it my special place to make me feel special!
BG is always fantastic! The wines are lovely. I do prefer the previous chicken with the au jus, but the new preparation is good, too. My friends enjoyed the chicken salad and. Asian salad.
Always enjoyable lunch or dinner
A mother-daughter and granddaughter luncheon. Everything was perfectly prepared and the atmosphere is just beyond lovely.
Please add some gluten-free items to your menu. Thank you!
The service was top notch. The Damon Freres tea Blue Garden is my favorite so I was happy they had it. The food was really just ok and not worth the price. The view of the park was nice but ambiance was, again, just ok. Felt a bit dated. There are better afternoon teas at other hotels and tea rooms out there that are more worth your time and money.
BG restaurant is one of my favorites in NYC. The decor is gorgeous and the Central Park views are stunning. The scallops are my favorite! Ask to be placed in Corrina's or Adam's section. They are top notch servers!
Salad delish, but realized after I ate it that there two options for dressing on the menu, but the waiter didn’t ask. It was still good, but would have rathered the other.
Food was super quick. But no one notices our empty water glasses for quite a while and we had to call someone over to refill.
Love the chocolate mint that comes with the check.
