Tasty food, comfortable service and a nice wine selection!
Great food and wine with very nice staff!
Loved the ambiance there!
Noise Level on Saturday night made it difficult to talk.
Food and service both solid.
Went for the brick oven pizza and loved the grilled asparagus and house soup. The pizza is crusty and authentically Italian. This is a cozy, nice neighborhood spot.
The service was outstanding--friendly and responsive. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. The food was quite good but not great. I would have liked the crust on the pizza to be crispier and the pasta to be a bit tastier. These aren't major complaints but rather, what it would take to get to the next level of deliciousness! That said, I'll certainly be back.
This is one of my best neighborhood places. Friendly efficient staff, decent house wine,
excellent pizza's and good value on "food". I am very fond of their lasange, salmon, fettuccine. And lots else. On summer days/evenings they open the doors to the outside -- bad idea as the 1 train rumbles by above ground. No one else seems to mind. Excellent chocolate torte.
Good place for a pizza. Nice service. But the music is too lound.
Great pizza and pasta. Authentic brick oven pizza with a perfect chewy crust.
Great service good food
Good food. Spotty service, but it may have just been an off night.
I really love the meatball appetizer. I also, have tried the chef's specials regularly, and they usually are terrific.
Very cozy restaurant with good service in an area where there are not too many choices. Asparagus with the truffle oil was excellent. Gnocchi was just ok. Eggplant parmesan was very tasty. Next time I go, I will definitely order the pizza, it comes from a real wood burning pizza oven.
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant with top-notch ingredients. The grilled carciofi were especially great. Highly recommend the pizza, salmon, and grilled calamari.
This is a surprisingly good Italian restaurant in uptown. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is good quality, the wines are reasonably priced and there is a good selection, Italian, naturally. All in all a great find in an unusual area.
Ranging in the New Year here and received party favors to ring in the year. The value was great. I would definitely come back
They ran out of one of the specials and substituted without asking!
We enjoyed our meal which salmon and stuffed chicken. The service was great.
The staff and Owner/Manager are very friendly and attentive. The walls are covered in tasteful local artists work. The drinks are generous, the food is delicious, authentic Italian cuisine that borders on semi rustic, very hearty. The wood oven is nestled in a corner nook you barely notice it once inside yet the aroma from the hand tossed pizzas wafts in the air (not overpowering, yet subtle enough to whet your appetite) they are usually ready in under 10 minutes. I just love this place. A hidden neighborhood gem.
This is a great standby for a casual meal, a special occasion, and or any time. It's always a joy.
Food was not good in my opinion. My date enjoyed his meal. My food was extra salty, tasted like it was old. I had the pasta with mussels and ordered the asparagus appetizer. He had the salmon. The only thing I enjoyed was my wine and the servers were friendly. I won't be back.
The food and the service were impeccable. Great value as well. Will definitely be back. 😃
Look like a true Italian pizzeria, young and informal place with authentic favours.
Small portions but very tasty
My husband and I absolutely love Bettolona. We live within a block so we go there or order take-in pretty regularly. In the summer months they have nice outdoor seating. The food is delicious and the staff is always friendly and helpful. One drawback is that Bettolona is located quite close to the (1) train at 125th and Broadway. For this reason the restaurant s easy to get to, on the downside the train can be a bit noisy at times. We've never minded it though. The pizzas are incredible and the desserts are divine. I recommend!
We took our party of six including two children to Bettolona for Mother's Day. We had a lovely time, the food was good, and the service was excellent. When there was one issue with a delayed plate, it was solved quickly.
The restaurant was very crowded because there were concerts and opera performances happening at Manhattan School of Music next door.
A group of 6 of us had a delicious dinner this past Friday night. Everything we ordered -- appetizers, pastas, pizzas, wine -- was delicious and enjoyable. The service was also exemplary. Despite being very busy, the staff managed to attend to us warmly and without delay. I would mention only that it was a warm spring evening, and the front windows were wide open to Broadway, so the passing elevated subway made for a loud rumble every few minutes. Other than that distraction, we had a great experience.
We loved our dinner at Bettolona last weekend. It'a a short walk up Broadway from the Columbia campus and well worth it. As far as we can tell, the entire staff (from the owner on down) are Italians and they were only too happy to indulge me while I tried out my marginal Italian. The traditional menu (antipasti, primi, secondi, etc.) was authentically Italian and the pasta dishes we saw on other tables looked terrific. We were in the mood for pizza, however, and we were not disappointed. Molto autentico! We also ordered dessert (dolci), including their house made tiramisu which was fantastic. We will return!
The staff was very attentive. The food was amazing and greatly priced. The ambiance of the place was trendy and cozy.
This was my first time at this restaurants. My daughters lives around the corner and brought me here because she loves this place. I can understand why. Perfect find for a lovely and simple meal. We so enjoyed sharing a yummy pizza and arugula salad. The atmosphere was
bright and quite on a weekday but there's enough space that I'm sure can handle a large crowd
at Brunch time or Dinner. I look forward to returning here.
Lovely ambiance, superb service, fabulous food and NOT a typical New York price. The Nonas lemon tart was to die for. ..bravo!
This small restaurant is a neighborhood gem! It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and excellent, attentive service. The food was fresh, authentic Italian. Highly recommended!
Stopped for lunch while visiting nearby colleges. Very convenient to subway stop on a safe main road. Ordered two pasta dishes that were served quickly and with generous portions. Definitely coming back for the pizza sometime as we could see it in the oven!
This is a lovely restaurant in decor with charming waiter and good attentive service. The bonus however is very good food at very nice cost. The chocolate volcano cake with ice cream is divine!
Good Italian neighborhood bistro. Food was good and typical bistro and wood fired pizza fare in a nice setting. Service a bit leisurely, but it was a busy rainy Friday night. Pizza and lasagna were very good. Pasta special interesting and creative.
First time here for me and my boyfriends date night. Great customer service, the food was delish and the price was decent. The Torta al cioccolate with vanilla gelato was the best dessert thus far.
The meatballs are a must! Delicious! Food was good and service was fast. Great for a quick but delicious lunch.
Perfect spot for pizza and more. The service is personal and attentive. We arrived early but they made us feel welcomed.
Incredible pizza just like in Rome!
