Culmination of culinary passion, creativity and global influences
The cuisine is enhanced by a Wood-burning oven rare find in NYC and a Piano where you can catch Our Rockstar Chef Vlado playing.
Excellent place. Great food and the chef owner and his spouse both engage the guests. I love the lasagna which has homemade noodles and bechamel sauce exactly the way lasagna should be made. Other dishes are excellent also. The owner is a former Slovakian Rocker with Gold Records on the wall and guitars hanging from the ceiling. It's a very cool ambiance.
Enjoyed the happy hour pizzas from the brick oven which is consistently excellent. Great value and cozy space.
wonderful neighborhood gem
We ate early. It was quiet. Not many diners but they started coming in about 730. My choice of shrimp and linguine was not a great choice. I have had better meals there.
We got a seat outside before a concert at the Beacon Theater. Nice day out and the staff was gracious, and they did help each other covering the extra tables out on the sidewalk. One of the more reasonably priced places in the area. Well cooked food. Not all the cocktails were outstanding, but my wife's mojito was quite good. Check out the coucousotto. Yummy take or risotto using couscous. It's small, a cozy inside, and generally a solid neighborhood place. I'd go again in a heartbeat.
Lovely dinner... good value...relaxing ambiance
Great Food, Beautiful Place, The owners are very friendly, Live Music by Chef is Amazing we will be back soon.
Meh. Overall experience was meh.
nabe gem! love their food and live music!!!
love the place
this time great live music!
service a little slow with drinks taking long, but overall great!
This was our 2nd time here and the pizza was, again, great. Happy hour prices are spectacular.
The food was fine; my tablemates liked their meals better than I liked mine. And the service was good. Honestly though, in a neighborhood where there are so many choices to eat, I don't think I'll go back there
Was good, disappointed in the caprese - the cheese didn’t impress and the tomatoes weren’t ripe
Food & service was very good. Live music on piano was wonderful. Overall a great experience
It has been three months since I was in Bettola. Last night dinner was superb. It didn’t surprise me because the place is like home away from home. Chef Vlado changed the menu again. I had curly shrimp as an appetizer that was to die for. My date had the special Ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta in vodka sauce which was surprisingly very lite. Bettola’s decor is really funky now. There are guitars hanging all over the place. Lights are made of trombones, microphones and drums. We love it and definitely be back.
Overrated! Food not very good... reasonable service. I Will not come back.
FOOD is AMAZING ! Fresh and Delicious. Outstanding Friendly Service. Fun Place, Live Music by the Chef. WE WILL BE BACK !
Great food and great location. Would recommend.
Understaffed tonight. But food was really good and ambiance was solid. Wish they’d turn their music up a little. It was very faint. It would make it feel a little more “happening”.
I really enjoyed the evening at Bettola. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I just had pizza and a glass of wine, so can't speak to overall quality of food. One of the owners/also the chef, came out and played the piano and sang standards, and he was good but not overwhelming, so we could talk if we wanted to, but really this was an extra bonus. I'd definitely go back and try more of their menu.
Great little restaurant... Italian dishes were great... Bread pudding dessert topped it off!
Nice neighborhood eatery. Service was a little rushed, food good, would be nice if the bread at the table would be fresh and hot from the oven. I would recommend to others.
Wonderful surprise near the Lucern hotel
Nice people, average food.
Excellent pizza and service. Interior has a funky rock and roll vibe -snare drum lights and hanging guitars. Recommended!
We always love dining at Bettola. However it’s a small restaurant and all tables along the wall from the brick oven to the front doors were given over to large group of about 23 people for a “reunion” making it appallingly noisy. Large groups like this should seek larger venues. we are very fast to avoid the discomfort.
Great local place for an easy dinner
great food and service at reasonable price!
Excellent food with quick arrival of food before a show
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Staff is friendly and helpful. A bonus if the owner is singing. Pizza is crisp and excellent. Seasonal specials are also great.
we have really enjoyed bettola. we had a wonderful brunch on this visit, and have had pizza and pasta there as well. not only is the food outstanding, the staff is welcoming and friendly. we especially appreciated them on a recent visit after a family event -- as we were talking and reminiscing, we never felt rushed away by the staff. we plan to return regularly!
Highly Recommended, Wonderful Menu Selection. Atmosphere is Great. Food is Fresh and Tasty. Service Outstanding and very Friendly.
A lovely lemony salad, a perfectly balanced roast eggplant, a crisp pizza direct from the fiery oven: stick with these things, and Bettola is quite perfect. Very friendly atmosphere, occasional lively music, absolutely nothing "chic" or trendy. If this is what you're looking for, Bettola can't be beat. If it's not what you're looking for, stay away, so that we can keep the place just the way it is.
A lovely, lively and cozy place with friendly atmosphere, attentive service and homelike feel to your dining experience. We tried their fresh pasta which was excellent and thin crust pizza made in a wood burning oven which was crispy and simply delicious. We were lucky to experience live music performance by the chef who is a professional musician. Next time we hope to try their outdoor seating for brunch. Would recommend to anybody!
Love this place. Food is fabulous, staff are so friendly and attentive. Would come here every week if finances allowed.
Delicious food, friendly staff and very nice atmosphere. Will be back definitely!
Pasta was fresh, delicious wine. Service was fantastic. I love the outdoor seating that gives European vibe. This is great place that i would go back again.
My friend took me to this place last night. I am not a fan of Italian cuisine but he assure me that Bettola is nothing like other Italian restaurants. He is one of the oldest living Broadway producers so I figured he has seen plenty of restaurants in his life. First thing that told me I am at special place was its decor. Light fixtures were made out of trombones, microphones and drums. There were guitars hanging all over the place. My friend told me that chef is a rock star from Czechoslovakia. I could see his gold records on the wall. He came to say hello and instantly made me feel at home. We shared pizza from wood burning oven. Thin crust- perfect. I had their signature dish Fantastico. Marinated sliced filet Mignon with mushrooms, roasted asparagus and house made fettuccine. It was flavorful and definitely original. My friend had his favorite Lemon chicken. Grilled breast with figs, capers, roasted peppers and mashed potatoes. For dessert we shared Bettolinos.
Deep fried cheesecake bites. Surprisingly light and crunchy and not oily at all. At one moment chef came out of the kitchen and played couple of songs. One look and you can tell that he is a professional. I didn’t expect I would have such a wonderful time. I think I found my new hangout.
We love Bettola, what a lovely place. We eat here 3-4 times a month, always great value, excellent food. The Menu is diverse and well executed. The stuff and owners very friendly. Fun Place for music lovers too . See you again soon.
I would never recommend Bettola to anyone. Terrible food, unfriendly staff, loud, very warm, & overall bad experience. My husband & I both thought there were no redeeming qualities. They brought over ripped up used bread & 2 measly pieces. It was shameful. The tables are so close together that you are in other peoples very loud conversations & others feel they can chime into yourconversation. Bad beginning of a lovely evening going to see Jerry Seinfeld at The Beacon. I had no dinner.....I just left that food sitting there.
