Here, we honor the farm-to-table tradition by using locally sourced meats and produce to bring fresh flavors to each dish. Customer favorites include our gnocchi, pollo pomodoro, and our charcuterie selections. Our signature Neapolitan pizzas start with dough made from scratch using caputo flour flown in from Italy, which is hand-tossed and wood-fired in our authentic brick oven from Naples. We also feature a variety of house-made pastas, roasts, and sautés, and we offer craft cocktails and wines to pair beautifully with each dish.
We’re always pushing the envelope with our creative dishes and drinks at Bettola, and we hope to welcome you in our space soon.

Great for celebrating or just craving the food and vibe. If you are into quiet meals, this isn't your scene. The energy there is contagious. We love it.
Jen our server was fabulous on food recommendations and attentive even though she had a full load of tables, on her birthday!
My co-workers and I really enjoyed the food and upbeat environment.
My favorite food in Birmingham! Never disappoints.
We have had meals at Bettola that were exceptional. This one was good but not great. The fall salad needed a little sweetness to offset the tanginess of the vinaigrette. The pork pasta dish was a little watery. Nothing was a “wow.” Just one of those nights when our choices weren’t the best.
Food quality always consistent. Good portions—enough to share and try several items. Pizza crust crispy and delicious.
Always enjoy the pizza, salads, and of course the calamari is splendid.
Enjoyed the small plates and nice Italian wine list....
Wonderful meal. Wonderful service. What more can you ask for?
Excellent experience! We’ve been to Italy twice and this was as close to authentic Italian pizza that we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
As a small group in town for a conference we wanted to dine at a local restaurant. The menu has a nice variety. Good selection of wine. I ordered a Hugo which wasn't their strong point so I switched to wine and was not disappointed. Everyone in our group enjoyed their entrees. The bread was awesome!
It was a busy night Friday so we enjoyed a. Sancerre at the bar as we waited for an open table. We lived our table by the pizza oven, we split the arugula salad & pizza - just right & delicious! We live to come and sit outside during the warmer months.
We were pleasantly greeted at the door arriving about 20 mins before our reservations. We were promptly seated and greeted again by our server who gave us wonderful suggestions on the menu as it was our first visit! We got antipasti, pasta & pizza along with shared dessert. We will definitely be visiting again!
We just had our second visit to Bettola and it was as disappointing as our first. We dined there in the spring and left feeling our experience was a fluke. We had a three course meal, but the server forgot to turn in my husband's entree order. Rather than come ask what he would like that could be prepared quickly, the server told us of his mistake and said he ordered him scallops because they could be prepared quickly. We were shocked as my husband hates scallops. When he asked for something else, the server seemed put out. The manager asked us how our meal was and we explained what had happened, she was very flippant about it.
Since the rest of the meal was good, I thought I would give it another try. We were on time for our reservation. The server asked if we were ready to order our drinks, but my son and husband needed another minute. 30 minutes later, she returned. We gave our full order-drinks, appetizer and entrees because she had been busy with other tables and we weren't sure when we would see her again. Our drinks and appetizer were served promptly, but our side of the restaurant was nearly empty by the time our entrees arrived 45-60 min after we ordered. It was a cold and rainy night and we had traveled from Tuscaloosa to meet our son for dinner. The entire experience was incredibly disappointing. Our server and the manager were apologetic, but at the point, we knew we would never be back. The food was just okay. I had gnocchi which was delicious, my son had a fair hangar steak and my husband had the black grouper which was okay, not great.
With so many dining options in Birmingham, we easily find something else the next time we are in town. Steer clear.
great antipasti choices and superb Quattro formaggi pasta
Dropped in for an early 6:15 pm dinner on a Saturday in order to enjoy a great meal before heading home to watch some college football. The temperature was in the low 60s so we opted to sit outside and enjoy our meal near an open pit fire that was wonderful. My better half ordered her usual margherita pizza and I chose the oven roasted fish special over succotash. Both dishes were fabulous and enjoyed with a tasty rose accompanied by outstretched service.
I hadn't been here in a while, but was so satisfied when I took a friend from out of town to "my favorite Italian restaurant." Service was lovingly discreet, pastas were light, rich, and soulful. A perfect evening.
Goodness!! From our lovely server, Jen, greeting us outside to the wonderful food and drinks, such a marvelous evening. Jen was so attentive and friendly and knowledgeable, she made the entire experience one we cannot wait to repeat. If you have not experienced this incredible restaurant, make it your next stop! Thank you, Jen!!!!
Always fabulous!!! Bettola is our go to for a fun night out or a special occasion!
This place is run by such lovely people, and the food keeps getting better. We had the calamari appetizer with a glass of Ravento (a Spanish bubbly that we love), followed by pasta Quattro Formaggi and the Papardelli with lamb sausage. The Terradera de Paulo (sp ?) red is a super bargain wine with a lot of character. Also try the Argiolas Perdera, a Sardinian offering that is richer and earthier. This has become our favorite Birmingham restaurant, at least for when we don't want to take out a loan for dinner 😉
The food was outstanding and the service was even better. Our server was kind but concise and gave great suggestions when we asked.
Could not have asked for a better experience.
Have the pesce arrostiti at least once before you die.
Love going to Betola. Very comfortable. Love the atmosphere, and enjoy the food.
The bartender created a cocktail right in my presence! It was magical. It was truly a la cart! Thank you! I’ll be back. Pasta was fresh and full of flavor! The best I’ve ever had!
Business dinner with four people, sat outside on patio. Excellent service, very knowledgeable wait staff, fun and up eat. The four of us travel throughout North America and all agreed this was an outstanding dining experience
Wonderful experience as always! Had to ask them to turn down Guns n Roses music that was ridiculously loud (and dumb for an Italian restaurant), but after that it was perfect.
From the appetizer, entrees, pizza to dessert & french press decaf coffee. Everything was fab!
We had a wonderful time - food was superb and the ambiance fun and upbeat.
Excellent food and outstanding service as it has been in the past.
Gnocchi, Fish, and Pizza all very good. Wine prices were fair. Service was top notch. Left my card and the Manager called me. I plan on going back soon.
We arrived at Bettola to find that our Open Table reservation was not on file with the restaurant.
Fortunately, the manager ushered us in and sat us quickly. The food and service were excellent.
The only problem with Bettola is the noise level...it was very difficult to have a conversation.
Have dined many times at Bettola and have never been disappointed.
We have been there a few times and it is always a great experience with great food and wines. It is worth the stop!
Very nice place, outside seating is great, spacious, inside, however, is smallish; service is great, friendly. Our dinner choices all turned out a bit salty, sadly enough otherwise very good, appetizer was great.
We were visiting from Ontario, Canada and were blown away by the delicious food. We ordered the fish, and a pasta and it was delicious. Great atmosphere too.
Fantastic. Can’t wait to go back. My husband was disappointed there was “no chicken” available to add to his pasta
Mushroom appetizer was awesome. Pizzas great as well.
One of my favorite spots in and around the area. Great pasta and pizza and the drinks are good too. Reasonable prices for the quality.
Our favorite pizza, Italian sausage, was terrible. Sausage was poorly made, very fatty, tough, couldn't eat it.
We are very frequent customers, and ALWAYS order this same pizza. This was the first time we have ever had bad food there!
Creative menu, excellent food and pleasant service at very reasonable prices makes for a fun evening.
