Waited and waited for drinks. When my wife complained to the waiter, to his credit, the drinks arrived shortly thereafter. Beautiful setting, servers mildly friendly. Entrees excellent. Would certainly come again

Between the innovative cuisine and the insightful stewardship of Anthony Arvin, our meal was a brilliant end to one of the most unusual and creative places to dine in NYC. A memorable evening!

Betony was incredibly disappointing - overly contrived food that was tasteless, and service that was over-wrought. I am not surprised it closed.

One of my dishes (cauliflower) was undercooked. The kitchen made up for it as did the server and apologized many times. Some good dishes and unique dishes. neat space.

Impeccable dinner with first class service and amazing food! It's a shame that this place is closing. Every inch of the interior is decorated with unique decor and lighting, including the bathrooms. The four course meals for our party of three (which actually turns into a 6 course with the amuse-bouches) was perfect. Between the trio, we sampled a bit of almost everything. Standouts: labne app, lobster mid-course, prime rib main course, truffle tea amuse, pretzel dessert, milk punch with gin. Thanks for an amazing dinner and fantastic service... we will miss you!

I am so sad that Betony is closing. We had a fantastic meal, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The food was delicious, interesting, beautiful to look at on the plate. The service was impeccable. The room is lovely and we had what we thought was the best table in the corner. Altogether a meal I will never forget!

This place deserved to close. Our pre-theater dinner consisted of two courses and the restaurant couldn't even squeeze them out in 75 minutes. Bread was offered but never brought to the table. Food arrived late and cold. Shame on Michelin for recognizing a place as mediocre as this.

My husband and I were very excited to try Betony as we are huge fans of Eleven Madison Park. Betony is a beautiful restaurant, well appointed and tasteful, especially at Christmas time. We chose the chef's tasting. The food was very good and the presentation was beautiful. The time between courses was very inconsistent. I was very impatient toward the end of the meal as it took longer and longer between courses. We sat down at 7:30 pm and did not finish the meal until 11:30 pm. My biggest disappointment by far was visiting the ladies room and finding that there was no toilet paper in the stall, none, nothing, and no extra rolls. For a restaurant of this caliber I was shocked. Not a good thing when you're wearing your finest clothes and have to drip dry (all ladies can relate to this). If you have lots of time and are true foodies you will like Betony but I recommend you bring your own toilet paper.

Have had the pleasure of dining here many times over the past 2+ years. The food and cocktails are always amazing. Hospitality and service is second to none. I look forward to seeing all the many talents here branch off to do amazing things after the restaurant closes this month. It's a shame we're losing such a fantastic place. Thank you for providing long lasting memories and experiences I'll never forget here at Betony. Wishing you all the best!

Sad to hear it is closing soon..go now!
Went for lunch, dining solo to use Open Table gift...
Lovely table on 2nd floor overlooking bar area and 57th Street.
Amuse bouche of a tea with brown butter, delicious and warming. Great warm rolls.
WInter green salad 's plating made it a bit difficult to eat but dressing was tasty.
The petit filet dish was an artistic site to behold and perfectly cooked...
In between the two courses was offered a bowl of the potato veloute which if returning I would order as first course! Also offered a wonderful wine to go with.
Other wine ordered by glass, generous pours and good pairings.
Servers were pleasant and efficient.

We arrived promptly for a 6:15 reservation, a time when neither the bar nor the dining room was crowded. The sommelier came to advise us about wine, but may have been disappointed when we told him we would like cocktails before thinking about wine. We then waited at least 40-45 minutes to receive the cocktails--despite two polite queries on their whereabouts. In the meanwhile, a waiter took our orders, and a server attempted to provide us with the amuse-bouche...which we asked to postpone, since we had not yet had our cocktails! The sommelier did stop by at one point to "explain" that the bar was very overwhelmed...though even 45 minutes after our arrival, there were still empty seats at the bar.

The food was generally well prepared (though my companion's first course lacked the sauce that appeared on my identical one), but not outside of the category of that which I could prepare at home...in other words, not quite living up to $110 for a four course tasting menu, plus supplements for nearly every choice.

Décor is beautiful, and it was generally quiet, though the tables are VERY close together. Not a perfect place for a romantic dining experience.

The service staff, while polite to the point of being obsequious, didn't actually provide service that made sense for a fine dining experience.

Betony is one of my top 5 restaurants, and I am heartbroken to hear that it is closing at the end of December. Food, hospitality, service and decor are wonderful! If you haven't yet dined at Betony, please hurry in--yes, Betony is that terrific!

The setting is warm and intimate, like dining in a living room, with top-notch service and creative offerings with unusual combinations of flavors. However, the fixed-price cost of 3 courses and dessert is $110, without drinks and tip. The portion sizes are modest but the food is beautifully presented and visually striking (sorry, no photo!).

The prix fix menu had a variety of choices to fit every taste. The sommelier Christopher was extremely helpful in navigating the impressive wine list. Delivery of all courses was flawless and properly paced. The price was high but typical for a Manhattan restaurant of this quality and everything was perfect.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The food, the staff, the setting, all were fabulous. One of our party is a vegetarian, and a picky one at that. Everything was perfect. From the thorough explanation of the wine pairings, the detail of each course, to the attentive, but not smothering service.

Betony is a class act. Everything is done to perfection. Food was fantastic & the service was impeccable (without being snobbish). It was a birthday dinner celebration and they had a birthday note written out and they lit a candle with dessert. Decor is very very beautiful. With all the courses and the number of amuse-bouches, be prepared for a meal that can take 2-3 hours. Highly recommend.

Everything about Betony is beautifully orchestrated, took a lot of thought, yet it seems to rise out of an organic place. Bryce Shuman, the chef, creates dishes so divine I wanted to savor them forever. Everything was wonderful. the servers truly pampered us but were unobtrusive. They served so many small bite-sized treats before our many courses that i lost count.

My favorites of the main courses were the exceedingly tender and fresh lobster that had been covered in a sauce that had been poured through tied bunches of fresh dill. As I feasted, a faint scent of the dill filled my nostrils.

But the crowning achievement was the short rib that had been stewing for two days before being seared over white-hot charcoal. It was simply best beef I have ever tasted.
