This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - Betony, named after an herb in the mint family known for its healing qualities, is a Modern American restaurant overseen by Executive Chef Bryce Shuman (the former Executive Sous Chef of Eleven Madison Park) and General Manager Eamon Rockey (formerly of Eleven Madison Park, Atera, and Aska ).

The restaurant is located a block off of Fifth Avenue, features soaring ceilings, contemporary photos of New York City street scenes, a 35-seat bar and lounge and 85-seat dining room. A two-course lunch prix fixe ($42) is offered Monday through Friday, and both a four-course prix fixe ($110) and seasonal tasting menu ($215) are available at dinner. Patrons who dine at the bar in the evening are welcome to order from the bar menu, the prix fixe or the tasting menu. For guests joining us prior to seeing a show, we offer a two-course pre-theater menu ($65) available from 5:30 - 6:30PM.

Waited and waited for drinks. When my wife complained to the waiter, to his credit, the drinks arrived shortly thereafter. Beautiful setting, servers mildly friendly. Entrees excellent. Would certainly come again

Between the innovative cuisine and the insightful stewardship of Anthony Arvin, our meal was a brilliant end to one of the most unusual and creative places to dine in NYC. A memorable evening!

One of my dishes (cauliflower) was undercooked. The kitchen made up for it as did the server and apologized many times. Some good dishes and unique dishes. neat space.

Impeccable dinner with first class service and amazing food! It's a shame that this place is closing. Every inch of the interior is decorated with unique decor and lighting, including the bathrooms. The four course meals for our party of three (which actually turns into a 6 course with the amuse-bouches) was perfect. Between the trio, we sampled a bit of almost everything. Standouts: labne app, lobster mid-course, prime rib main course, truffle tea amuse, pretzel dessert, milk punch with gin. Thanks for an amazing dinner and fantastic service... we will miss you!

I am so sad that Betony is closing. We had a fantastic meal, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The food was delicious, interesting, beautiful to look at on the plate. The service was impeccable. The room is lovely and we had what we thought was the best table in the corner. Altogether a meal I will never forget!

This place deserved to close. Our pre-theater dinner consisted of two courses and the restaurant couldn't even squeeze them out in 75 minutes. Bread was offered but never brought to the table. Food arrived late and cold. Shame on Michelin for recognizing a place as mediocre as this.

Betony's is always a great dining experience, The staff are great and ensure you always feel at home in the comfortable and relaxed environment that the have created. The food is always fantastic and the menu is always has new surprises that tease the taste buds. It's certainly a "Go To" place for me.

My husband and I were very excited to try Betony as we are huge fans of Eleven Madison Park. Betony is a beautiful restaurant, well appointed and tasteful, especially at Christmas time. We chose the chef's tasting. The food was very good and the presentation was beautiful. The time between courses was very inconsistent. I was very impatient toward the end of the meal as it took longer and longer between courses. We sat down at 7:30 pm and did not finish the meal until 11:30 pm. My biggest disappointment by far was visiting the ladies room and finding that there was no toilet paper in the stall, none, nothing, and no extra rolls. For a restaurant of this caliber I was shocked. Not a good thing when you're wearing your finest clothes and have to drip dry (all ladies can relate to this). If you have lots of time and are true foodies you will like Betony but I recommend you bring your own toilet paper.
