The menu includes a lot of South Indian dishes including dosas filled with this or that. This is a nice change from many other Indian restaurants. Our dosa, filled with vegetables, was delicious. Our other food was also excellent, though the naan was somewhat oily. The restaurant was mostly empty, yet our service did not reflect that our server was not too busy. We had to ask several times just to get our water glasses refilled. The decor is plain, and the ambience is not exciting. I would certainly return for the food, but my wife would not because of the service. Unfortunately for me, I live too far away for takeout.

Finally found the best dosa in DC! Bethesda Curry Kitchen features cuisine from Hyderabad as well as other parts of India. There are plenty of Indian restaurants in Bethesda, and a few excellent ones in DC (Rasika, for example), but none of them come close to making masala dosas the way we had them in Hyderabad. Warm, crispy "pancake" wrapped around a potato / curry mix with coconut chutney and sambar. This restaurant is a neighborhood gem, and was packed on a recent Saturday night. Give it a try!

This is a real find....a family-owned and run business in he heart of Bethesda. All of the main dishes were delicious as was the papri chat appetizer. Sorry we didn't find it sooner.

Authentic And delicious Indian food. Works for vegans through meat eaters. Many dishes are gluten free. Have eaten dinner and at the lunch buffet- loved both.

Our first disappointing dinner here, particularly so as we were introducing two good friends to this restaurant! The biriyani had not been cooked like biriyani should be; it was nothing more than white rice stirred together with chicken - the white rice was still visible on the platter! The rogan josh and other dishes were not up to the usual expectations. The service was slow and stretched with just one server responsible for all ten tables of customers, including a large group of ten or so. We are long time patrons of Chef Anil and sincerely hope that this was just an off night!
