Meekk, Francesca and Elise were all great. Excellent vegetarian food, wonderful wine pairings adjust as we ate. Our favorite meal experience during our wine country visit. I highly recommend.

This is the best food and wine pairing in the wine country. Chef John is a talented, witty fellow. Mayo wines are wonderful, so many varietals, and blends. For a small winery, very wonderful.

Our waiter at the bar was great. The Owner/Chef brought out our entrees and we discussed the meal and ambiance. The specials were very good and inventive, the flourless chocolate cake with butter pecan and whipped cream was excellent. Overall an enjoyable experience with excellent food and wine at a good price

I love this restaurant. The food is so delicious. The wines are perfect. Yes you can bring a bottle, but to really enjoy the food, let Heidy do her magic. Save room for the sundae.

The short rib/risotto combo is my consistent favorite. Last night I had the fish of the day with risotto and a lemon sauce. Amazing! We have eaten here about 12 times over the years, and it is consistently great!

Inspired by Italy’s aperitivo hour, when public squares and streets are filled with lively conversation, Portico serves handmade and authentic Italian fare in Sebastopol in western Sonoma County.

A portico is a colonnade or covered walkway in classical architecture. Since the middle ages the elegant porticos of Bologna, Italy have a meeting place for the public as well as a place for business. Paolo Pedrinazzi (who is from Bologna) and Kat Escamilla, owners of the new Portico trattoria , bring this experience to Sebastopol. They even have monthly Regional dinner parties with live jazz.

The setting includes an Italian fountain on their cozy patio. Portico offers light table service and counter ordering. Excellent Italian wines are sold in the restaurant at retail pricing; refreshingly unpretentious. The menu features an array of antipasti, handmade egg pasta, gluten free risottos, Bolognese lasagna, tiramisu, and baked goods . A market in the front is stocked with take-n-bake entrees
