Located inside of what was once a Chinese schoolhouse, Brasserie l'Ecole in Victoria, British Columbia now serves high-end French cuisine in a casual setting. The name is actually a nod to this building's former occupation (l'Ecole means 'the school' in French) and the unpretentious atmosphere (a Brasserie is laidback eatery that serves comfort food).

Chef leans heavily on our local farmers, using seasonal ingredients to create a menu that is a callback to the kind of food that was once common along the French countryside. While it changes regularly, Brasserie l'Ecole never strays too far from its classics: steaks, burgers, onion soup and frites. The wine is French, the food is French leaning and the staff are fantastic.

We loved everything about our experience at the Q. Our waiters were so friendly and catered to our every need. The food was absolutely delicious. We celebrated our anniversary and the waiter sang to us at our table. We will definitely be back.
