A favorite of Julia Child - Pot au Feu Bistro is so much more than a restaurant... Established in 1972, our cozy Bistro is the oldest French Bistro in America. Pot au Feu Bistro kicked off the Providence Restaurant Renaissance being the first to offer something other than “steak, spaghetti and chow mien”.
Located in the Historic Downtown we are just minutes from all the hotels and convention center.

We dine with another couple this time to celebrate a birthday. The staff at Pot au Feu was wonderful and made the occasion special. The drinks were just right and the food delectable. Another wonderful night at a very special restaurant.

Squash blossoms and pasta fagole were excellent. Veal parm was excellent as always. The bolgense was very good. Our waiter Joe was excellent. Great meal all around including desert.

Had not been to the restaurant for about 20 years. It was as wonderful as we remembered. It was a birthday celebration and the food and service was exceptional! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Food was excellent!! Given it was restaurant week we were a bit concerned but food was better than before. Heard that the head chef was on vacation and the assistant chef was managing the kitchen. Well done. Also our server Gabby was amazing. Not only was the service Excellent, but She went out of her way to make our cocktails and they were so delicious!!

The inspiration for Needle and Thread came from the history of the space located at 45 Peck St. in Downtown Providence. For more than half a century Antonio Conte dutifully served the professionals in the city's center, with an old world style haberdashery, providing suits, outerwear and evening attire. For more than 2 years Needle and Thread was constructed piece by piece with the same attention to detail and love as Mr. Conte poured into every garment he constructed.

Excellent cocktails and food. Felt a little rushed, entrees came out 5 minutes after apps, but not a huge deal. Cool place, will return.
