Love Vernick CB and their attention to the detail, recognizing “regular” guests. The team makes it a welcoming environment.

Cambodian
Bella Vista
About the restaurant
Mawn is a noodle house with “no rules,” and the first restaurant for Chef Phila Lorn and his wife Rachel, who bring with them close to 20 years of experience in Philly’s restaurant scene. Phila, pronounced “Pee La,” broken English for Philadelphia, is a first-generation Cambodian-American chef. The first in his family to be born here, his parents and siblings came to Philadelphia as refugees in 1985 after surviving the war in Cambodia.

Mawn, which means “chicken” in Khmer, the Cambodian language, represents more than one thing. To Phila, chicken was at every meal growing up, and to his parents, chicken represented peacetime. During the war and genocide of the Cambodian people, there was mostly only what was found in nature to eat, including rice and salt. If there was chicken, it meant no war. At the end of that dark time, recipes were lost, and culture was wiped out, but through survival, a new authenticity was born.

This was the best experience we’ve ever had. Chef Kevin was amazing and the omakase was out of this world. The speakeasy aspect of it being beyond a bookcase only added to the experience and made it that much cooler. My husband said it was the best birthday dinner!

Old City
About the restaurant
Experience an exceptional journey through the artistry of edomae sushi at Ogawa, located in historic Old City, Philadelphia. Leading this experience is our Head Chef, Carlos Wills, whose passion for the art of sushi is reflected in every detail of the 23-course menu. Each dish is a testament to his skill, creativity, and deep respect for tradition, blending classic Edo-mae techniques with innovative touches that elevate the ingredients to their fullest potential. Our Master Chef, Minoru Ogawa, travels to Japan monthly to source the highest-quality ingredients, including fish flown in from Tokyo’s renowned Toyosu Market. Each dish is a celebration of tradition and precision.

Complement your meal with thoughtfully selected sake pairings, or explore the menu of premium Japanese beer, whiskey, and unique sake options.

WOW! What a great experience. This is my new favorite dining experience in Philadelphia. The Omakase experience was remarkable & the service was outstanding. Our chef Andy was very knowledgeable and personable. We did a sake pairing with each course and Chrissy was lovely and also highly knowledgeable. The Omakase experience is a perfect special occasion dinner and truly a unique dining experience. Every single bite was incredible.

We sat outdoors because we had our dog with us. They were very accommodating. We also had to change our reservation time at the last minute and they were understanding and helpful with that, too. I ordered one of the specials, a fish with risotto. It was delicious! The pastas looked really good but I am GF. Others who got the pasta said it was also delicious. I did not know it was a BYOB. My only suggestion would be improve the website by adding BYOB, cash discount, and expand on the menu options (like listing dessert choices or mentioning there are specials that change daily).

About the restaurant
“Pizzeria Salvy is my father’s Philadelphia story. It’s a story of persistence and perseverance. It’s a story of my childhood, and all the flavors and experiences I remember.”

The latest from acclaimed Chef Marc Vetri, Pizzeria Salvy borrows its name from Marc’s beloved father, Sal. “My father has been at the center of everything when it comes to my restaurant career,” says Marc. “From the meatballs to the family meals he has made for the last 25 years, it’s only fitting that we dedicate this project to him."

Pizzeria Salvy offers a curated selection of 12-inch pizzas. Salads, seasonal vegetables, and (of course) Sal’s Meatballs round out a menu inspired by heritage and heart, family and Philadelphia.

Wine Bar
Washington Square
About the restaurant
Welcome to Tria, Philly's original casual wine bar since 2004.

Our two Center City wine bars have helped elevate Philly’s wine scene while keeping it fun. Tria’s seasonally curated wine, cheese and beer menus showcase super-cool smaller producers who are driven by passion. The friendly Tria team will help you discover new flavor sensations if that’s your jawn. If you prefer, we’ll bring you more wine and leave you alone. It’s all good.

We love wine and it shows, but Tria above all is a community where guests come to relax and connect. There are no TVs or other distractions. The “concept” is for our guests to engage in conversation made livelier, deeper and cheerier by the wine. Cheers!
