The brewpub features a modern American pub menu featuring local and organic ingredients sourced primarily from our historic neighbor, the West Side Market, and the wonderful farms that dot our community. This dynamic menu is brought to you by our talented chef team. Market Garden is home to a 10 barrel brew house that has brewed up a menu of a dozen beers that span the flavor spectrum from easy drinking session lagers to big beasty ipas and porters. Noted brew master Andy Tveekrem, formerly head brewer at Dogfish Head, is at the helm. We also carry an exciting guest beer list highlighting the ever-changing American craft beer scene along with an extensive liquor & cocktail program focused primarily on American whiskies and spirits from the nation's top Micro-distilleries. The Battleground Mexican Kitchen specializes in traditional Mexican food – street tacos, churros, pozole, tamales, mole, empanadas, and other dishes representative of several regions of Mexico. This is not TexMex – every tortilla is handmade to order, the salsas made fresh daily. We also have a full bar serving a variety of cocktails, house margaritas, and Drink Your Values (DYV) beer. In the late 1800's, the Townsend family came to Chippewa Lake and created the estate that is now The Oaks Lakeside Restaurant. Five prominent oaks that stood in a semi-circle on the front lawn gave the estate its original name: Five Oaks. The estate has operated as a dining establishment and bar since 1961.
The Oaks has become best known for the glorious wedding ceremonies and receptions held exclusively on the property. We are also well known for our traditional Easter, Mother's Day and Thanksgiving Buffets. We take pride in all of our social and business events that we host.
The Oaks offers the finest in al fresco lakeside dining. In the colder months, join us and have a seat next to one of our cozy fires or a lake view table to watch the fall colors or a gentle snow over the lake. No matter what time of year, the sunsets are always incredible. Our seats are often limited, so reservations are advised.
