Very good jazz band of sax, guitar, and drums, each excellent alone and good together. Enjoyed the mussels very much. Waitress was efficient and friendly.

James St is a casual and contemporary, brick-walled restaurant specialising in chargrilled and aged steaks. The charcoal grill plays centre stage, cooking not just some of the best steaks and prime cuts Northern Ireland has to offer but also fresh whole fish, pork and vegetables.

With a larger, more established bar area, a large range of wines are available alongside a considered spirit list and an extensive whisky offering. Locally produced beer, cider and gins take pride of place on the drinks menu.

Owned by Niall McKenna since 2003 the revamped James St. will offer locals and tourists a great dining experience in a Belfast city centre.

The restaurant team is headed up by Ryan Stringer as Executive Head Chef & Paul Vaughan as Operations Manager

Saga is a new restaurant on Malone Road,where "Blank" previously was. It offers an a la carte menu, but also a table d'hote menu with 2 courses for £23 that offers terrific value, given the quality of the food. The wine list is excellent, and there is a good choice of wine by the glass. Dinner for 2 that included a beef carpaccio starter, 2 starters, 2 mains, a shared pudding, coffee, a diet Coke, 2 bottles of water and 2 glasses of white wine came to £120, including 10% service. Given the quality of the food - uniformly excellent - we were both pleased with our meal.

Once you get past the city area of the restaurant, the experience itself was excellent. Restaurant ambience is basic but the food makes up for whatever is lacking. Food was superb (especially for the price) along with the drinks. Save room for dessert as the cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding should not be missed. We had 8oz steaks and pan seared chicken were both very good!
