An award winning Ann Arbor institution since 1977, The Earle serves a rotating menu of fine Italian and French cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Selections include lamb chops, veal, beef tenderloin, salmon, duck breast, sea scallops and more. Live jazz plays Tuesday through Saturday in the dining room. The Earle's nationally recognized wine list (Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence) offers over 1,400 selections. Three private rooms are available and accommodate groups from 6 to 48.

We were a large group (7), and the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and responsive, and unflappable. Ari (one of the principles) checked in with his indomitable warmth and thoughtful caring. Somehow, we never expect how wonderful being there is, and thus are regularly delighted. Drinks were great (Negroni, and some seasonal summer cocktails). Ango chili, Kale salad, fried chicken, white fish, pimiento cheese - everything terrific.

This was our first time dining here and we already can’t wait to go back! The food, service and ambiance was truly outstanding! Sydney was our server and she was awesome! We had sushi, pasta and the brownie dessert! All were delicious! We also got to watch the bartender make some incredibly creative beverages. We can’t wait to dine again!

From the moment you walk in, the décor stands out— unique trendy, and artistically inspired without feeling overdone. It sets a lively, creative tone that fits perfectly in a college town. The food does not disappoint. I ordered the Hangover Helper (sunrise-style cheeseburger), and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. The runny egg, melty cheese, and seasoned beef patty all came together in a flavor-packed bite that truly hits the spot. The Lobster Mac was another standout. Creamy, rich, and filled with tender lobster, it was indulgent without being overwhelming. Every bite felt like comfort food elevated with a touch of elegance. Overall, HopCat is a great spot for anyone looking for a bold, flavorful meal in a vibrant setting. Highly recommended!
