Besito Mexican - Huntington Ratings and Reviews
We love Besito, but on this visit the table side guacamole was not as delicious as usual. Very disappointed. And the service was a little slower than usual which is OK because sometimes they are too fast. It was a quiet night there too, empty tables which is rare. It could have just been an off night, or a new waiter, the main courses were as expected. We will be back and hopefully it will be back up to an excellent review.
It was a great option for a fun dinner before the show at The Paramount Theater. The margarita menu was amazing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions according to our tastes. The food was so flavorful. A winner in Huntington.
Went here for a birthday celebration on Nov. 26th. Restaurant is beautiful and I have waited a long time to go here. My first problem was seating was right next to guacamole station in middle of floor. I couldn't even get to my seat and eventually had to move the station myself to be seated. Restaurants should learn not to crowd their guests in spots just to make money. I felt our table was too close to other people going by and the servers also going back and forth to their stations. It made the whole experience very uncomfortable. Specials were never mentioned to us. The only reason I mention this is because the surrounding tables were asked if this was their first time, and were told about the specials in drinks and food. Appetizers were good. Two of my guests had the El Dorado (fish) and the other one had Budin Marisc, which they both enjoyed. I had the Short Ribs which I didn't find as succulent and tasty as I thought it would be. They tasted pasty. We had a pitcher of Sangria to begin and Mexican Coffee at the end of the meal (both very good). Since it was mentioned in my reservation that it was a birthday celebration, I expected at least a Happy Birthday, but there was no mention of anything. Our waitress Leidy was very nice.
My boyfriend and I went to Besito in Huntington this past weekend for our Anniversary. Everything about our experience was amazing. We had a 7:15pm reservation and did not wait one minute to be seated. We also were immediately given champagne to celebrate the occasion. Also several staff members wished us a happy anniversary, I thought it was very sweet and made the night that much more special! Overall amazing experience with amazing food and staff as well.
Besito never ceases to impress. The Blood Orange margarita special was outstanding. They immediately took care of our littlest guest by bringing the baby avocado and banana slices to appease her and allowed us to have a great lunch without issue. The food is outstanding, the service is fabulous and we always feel special going there.
Besito never disappoints! Start with either the “Natural” or “Carlito’s Way” Margarita. Guacamole made fresh @ your table should never be passed up! The entrees are varied and will please every taste. A Friday/Saturday “prime time” reservation should be made at least 3-4 days in advance. The only downfall is during the winter months, sitting/waiting @ bar, to be seated, can be a “frigid” event.
Been to Besito many times and always had a most pleasant experience. This past Saturday sadly was not the same. The noise level was deafening with two women sitting next to us (who may or may not have had too much to drink) screeched with sharp shrilly piercing overtones. The temperature was freezing inside. Food was only okay. Salmon was too dry. And skip those silly little dolls.
The food is overpriced for the portions that are given. ie...2 baha flounder tacos are $13. There was one tiny piece of flounder maybe approximately 1 inch big in each of the tacos. Was at Pancho Villas last week and there portions are much more generous and priced more affordably.
Greeted when you walk in. Sat at the bar before getting seated. Bartender was highly competent and very friendly. Hostess sat us at a great table towards the back. Waiter was prompt, service all night was very attentive. Food was great, just the right amount of spicy. Double espresso was the perfect ending. Uber drop off and pick-up in front was extremely convenient. Will definitely be back soon.
My wife and I often go to Besito for special occassions. The other night, we went there to celebrate our anniversary. Margaritas and food were excellent. Our server was the only disappointment. He was not very attentive and the steak knife for my filete de res arrived to the table about 5 minutes after the meal was served. He even brought the bill to our table unbidden when we were ready to buy dessert.
Nice ambiance and service, but the food was awful. We both ordered fish dishes and they were both extremely overcooked. We were attending a show at The Paramount afterward. I ended up having to eat a bag of M & M's for sustenance following spending $50 on two inedible entrees.
